Not my usual creative pursuit, but I am very excited to share my Twisted Wonderland themed one-shot puzzle-game that I lovingly wrote for my friends! Featuring a few of the illustrations they drew during one of the more practical sections (thank you @emilia-illustration, @lillustrated, and @okrusio!)
In the drive I've included the files for the game itself, a couple of printable notes, and an information sheet. All in all it should take about 2-4 hours tops for a play-through, and up to 3 players.
The playable characters are defaulted to Azul, Malleus, and Ruggie, as these were the characters my friends chose. I also wrote the gm narration with Lilia in mind, but it's entirely possible to switch up who is playing 😊 (unless they're in Heartslabyul as the story involves them)
No AI was used at all (as always) and all the puzzles are presented in rhymes/poems to really give it the riddle-me-this fae-vibe🧚
If anything is unclear (or the file share doesn't work lol), don't hesitate to send me a message or an ask and I'll answer as best I can! Hopefully it's all clearly laid out enough- let me know how it goes if you play!
A snippet of the Introduction:
It’s a normal and wonderfully-weathered day in Night Raven College.
You three are in your designated classrooms waiting for your afternoon lectures to begin when all of a sudden you feel a mysterious wave of dizziness! How peculiar! Was it something you ate, perhaps?
Your eyes feel heavy, and in your faltering gaze you see a mottled mess of glowing mists, sparkles, and brightly coloured glitter. Faintly you can hear the sound of childish giggles, whimsical pan-flutes, and… are those courtly trumpets you hear?
You try your best to hold onto consciousness, but in the end you all fall face-first down onto your desks in a deep, unnatural slumber.
You are shaken awake by NRC’s number one problem-child, Ace Trappola, ranting about how his dorm-mates have all been kidnapped and you've got to help him rescue them or whatever.
As you jarringly regain your composure, you’re in what appears to be a normal history classroom, save for the door that looks quite different.
Investigating the door, you see that it is made of ornately carved mahogany with a glowing green window. No matter how hard you try, you cannot seem to open it.
You start to hear eerie giggling coming from all around you and in a burst of glitter and magical mist you see - Pixies!!
And an Example of One of the Minigames/Puzzles:
“Far have you come to rescue your friend,
But surely you know you are far from the end.
Fear not, however, you are far enough,
To try and dig Diamond from out of the rough.
Catered to you: a game of four rounds,
Pairs of two words, but sets of compounds.
You start with one word to begin a whole phrase,
Then onto the next to build up pathways!
The final word a composite makes,
Waxing-moon, to moon-cakes!"
