I love characters who would die for each other but will not, under any circumstances, communicate a single honest feeling.

Michael tried very hard
SGA + text posts pt 5
Remember when they tried to convince Michael that he was Texan?
They should've made him a Florida man
Well well well we’ve reached the point in the rewatch when Teyla’s wraith DNA is revealed, reminding me of how much I wish John’s significant Ancient DNA played more of a part in the overall series. I personally really like how Teyla’s wraith traits played a part in the show but it feels like John’s ancient traits (the strongest of anyone in the show and the whole reason the series kicks off) really drops off the map after the first few episodes which is a real shame cuz the dichotomy of Ancient/Wraith being represented in the SGA team.
So anyways here’s a lil something something I turned out while watching, a more Ancient John and a more Wraith Teyla, just for vibes. (Also man the ancients have terrible fits I’m just throwing that out there)
I love it when sci-fi is some weird losercore guy who is smarter than he appears getting recruited into a top-secret science program before being yeeted into space after a 5-minute briefing on what is apparently a one-way suicide mission and then ends up befriending an equally weird alien dude he has to work with or else they'll both die
How many years would you allow a Wraith (from Stargate) drain from you in order to cure / heal a close friend or family member?
5 Years
10 Years
15 Years
20 Years
I'm content with my nation's current healthcare system
For reference: the act of draining years from your life is very painful and traumatic. The Wraith are an alien species that feed on humans through a sucker on their hand that facilitates the transfer. Thousands of years ago they were humans, experimented on in an attempt to create a race with psychic abilities. It backfired creating a powerful race that treated human as cattle. However, one Wraith crashed alone on a planet. Without a means of escape, she knew the people of that planet would kill her if she started slaughtering people, she made them the deal that she would only take some years, in turn she would heal others, at a 1:3 ratio. For every 1 year given to another, she would keep 2 years of a person's life for herself.
"So you're Ember," Beckett said, coming out from behind his workstation, and Ember nodded once. "And you are Dr. Beckett." There was something odd about him, something off in the flavor of his life-force, and Ember frowned abruptly. "A clone?" … "I'm curious to know how you could tell." "Clones feel different," Ember said, startled. "Your life-force. It's— thicker. Shorter? No." He shook his head, tracing a shape in the air with his off hand. "A cord, not a river?"
~from Stargate Atlantis Legacy: "Third Path"
I thought it was interesting that, in the books anyway, the Wraith can apparently tell the difference between clones and non-clones? ((I cut out about a page in the middle where they talk about Michael.))
