Praying to God it’s not more yuuki and Zero content but knowing fucking Hino it looks probably will be as if 50 chapters of vkm wasn’t enough. I’m worried it’ll be a family zeki chapter. I learned to assume the worst bc it’s Hino

It's like, the last chapter is yume-heavy - but wait, there's zeki! Next chapter is zeki-heavy - and Hino will be like, but there's yume! 😭and there will another chapter, and another, and another... and we'll be stuck in this circle of hell forever.

Honestly, this is what I hate most about VK. Even IF the story would've ever ended with "Yuuki acknowledged Zero as her greatest love and lived the happiest life with him for eternity" I wouldn't hate it more than what we have in reality. Because I would have to respect her decision to finally show readers some result. But this situation is ridiculous. JUST BE DONE ALREADY.

I can't thank you enough for sharing your thoughts on Vampire Knight! The tag is full of supposedly 'neutral' fans that clearly favor Zero and can't stand Kaname, so I really appreciate seeing a new face and opinion that speaks on this series with a realistic approach.

I'm not exactly a new face haha, I just disappear from time to time because I feel more and more indifferent to Vampire Knight. But this series is still so dear to me that I can't just fully forget it and let it go - it's been a big part of my life.

People like to pretend neutral when they want to look smarter. Like, "look I'm not a Zero fan/zeki shipper and I see that Kaname and/or Yume have this and this problem, see? It means they do really have this problem because I AM NEUTRAL", no no no, kids, it doesn't work like that. If you're here, in the tag, you aren't neutral. If you like and dislike something and have come with your opinion to share - you aren't neutral. It's as simple as that.

I'm neutral to Shiki and Rima, so I never reblog fanarts with them and never talk about them. This is how it works. But when you clearly have an opinion then you have feelings and feelings are never about neutrality.

Hello, OP! I will say, if your anon is in reference to my influx of anon asks that’s come into the tag as of recent, I’ll fully come out to say I’ve never claimed neutrality. lol I’ve been very obvious on the fact that I’m a Zero fan and I don’t like the canon ships in their current form. Do I have a more predilection towards Zeki because it’s a Zero based ship? Absolutely, but I don’t like Hino’s writing of it for the canon. It’s more complicated than just I like a thing so I like a thing. I like aspects of the thing but have a lot of problems with it which i feel like gets lost in translation to most people’s understanding of when I say I don’t like this ships because we think that if you like it you have to like all of it without caveats or nuances in opinion.

As for Kaname/Kanaki, I’m explicit on not being a fan, though. I try to not say much on the character or pairing I have no interest in, since I believe to truly not care is to be indifferent since the opposite of love isn’t hate but apathy. lol Does my disdain come up sometimes when I’ve discussed the series? Sure, but I don’t make it my personality to hate on it since that’s wasteful energy imo. Plus, I support anyone who likes it for whatever reason. I’m not here to change anyone’s opinion when I’m analyzing or discussing the series. I nitpick the series not the people who like their ship and characters.

My neutrality comes from “if you don’t like it, fix it yourself” mentality. Write fanfiction, have fun with the property instead, and by taking things you do like from it and rolling with it in your own literary work. Idk be productive then just sit around and hate since imo it just puts you in a bad mood. Maybe not everyone gets in a bad mood though! But I like being proactive. ^^

This reply really was for clarification and now that I’ve said it, hopefully that’ll be understood if anyone interacts with this blog. Though, if the anon didn’t mean their backhanded comment to my blog, I apologize.

So I don't know if the anon referred to you exactly - I personally don't check the tag too often so I'm pretty sure I overlook a lot of things, but I think it's cool you decided to come and openly explain where you stand. I understand your position, and even though I'm a huge Kaname fan and a yume shipper I, of course, also see the flaws that cannot be ignored and should be talked about - at the end of the day we're talking about Hino's writing and I'm sure we all collectively agreed that she's a really mediocre writer. Which means, no matter what side we stand on, we should acknowledge that all our fave characters and ships in this manga aren't depicted perfectly. As long as we all understand that and agree on that, we're good.
