Floki and Ivar bonding over the fact that they both have hyper mobility related conditions. Ivar had hEDS (on top of his OI) and Floki probably has hypsermobility spectrum disorder.

The first time Floki loses his pain mask infront of Pai Ivar is like 3. He’s young and he doesn’t trust a lot of people, not that he has much experience with people or even emotions and empathy yet. Floki deviated when Pai insists it stay back just this once, even if it gets that it’s bad enough for the pain to be visible, but then it sees Ivar and knows that it has to be emotionally strong and accepting because Ivar is disabled (the boy can’t even walk at this point) and he won’t be able to go on all kinds of raids due to that, so it makes itself a role model to Ivar.

When Ivar is older Floki brings him on his first raid with the others and has found ways to accommodate even Ivars chair with the boat. It gets to see Ivar able to partake because it helped Ivar get more comfortable with his disability.

Psi isn’t human. Psi I looks human, but looks human in a way that is comfortably wrong, like an ability to peg them as a different species and not a threat. He identifies with what she is; a complication, and she knows that because of him The Doctors blood colour is just off enough to cause an uncanny felling in red blooded creatures that see it.

Ever since voids time as a slave, Athelstan never really felt exactly human. It plays into voids conflict when void is chosen to be sacrificed but void doesn’t say anything until later due to feeling insane due to it. Void isn’t sure what void is, but voids feelings around Ragnar are that he would be a big cat of sorts had he been born another way, so void takes on the feelings of being a smaller “big cat” (in an off way like those old paintings of things that you know what they are, but they are off) and void is okay with not being “right” in it.

Floki is a deity, but in its own way is alter human as a deity who identifies as human, or at least in major part as human. It doesn’t properly feel like a deity because being that failed it. It’s truly more of a Demi-deity than anything internally.

Ragnar is a Demi god, in both identity and being. He is slightly conflicted by it but is accepting of his identity and being

Psi would do everything in his power to prevent Ivar from becoming like he was in cannon like, absolutely would do everything she could to give him a life that would prevent that. And honestly that would mean not babying him. They would 100% understand his disability but they would also for sure be able to tell him no, and show him how bad his mother fucked up, and guide their relationship to a point he could turn to him.

Because even in all of his pride, Ivar wanted to be able to walk. I think Psi getting him braces, and a canes, and a fucking wheel chair to use would at least somewhat endear him to them. And Psi helping where he can, and taking Ivar to physio where Ivar knows he had to behave or he won’t get help. And maybe at first his empathy and kindness are entirely fake, and a front. But I do think with the right guidance, and the right people in his life, and the right situations, and being able to understand his conditions (both physically in having Brittle bones and probably some kind of hypermobitity, and fertility issues; and mentally in probably having some kind of a personality disorder) he’d grow to understand people and to try to make the active choice to be good even if he doesn’t understand empathy so much.

I also think in an odd way Psi would help with his empathy or at the very least with his compassion. I think with what he is (being kind of a child to him) Psi would have realized/ come to assume they could probably have auspiced between Lagertha and Asalug, only for Ivar to point out the obvious facts and in his own way comfort Psi.

Floki (war flashbacks from having to experience an only mildly altered version of Epic! The Musical -Storm, and how genuinely it [and thebothers] thought they were going to die due to Psi playing godly games with the Norse and Greek gods forgetting- to some extent- that everyone else on the boat were mortal and that both Psi and it couldn’t swim.) (fully giving a 100 years stair)

Athelstan (shocked and concerned, but understanding the look): oh, so it was like… bad bad then, got it

Things are happening in my Yumeship

I started to introduce Psi lightly playing Auspistic with Floki and Athelstan and I might have slightly started a bit of a miscommunication event. And thankfully it's not a fight and maybe break up, or cause too much of a slow burn confusion; the slow burn can come from other places, but more in a sense of... Confusing Athelstan a little about his feelings a little with their description of black/ hate romance.

Of course things will work out in the end but this is an interesting development.

Time and Space Boat (plus other branches) Relationships

Decided I would give some information on my Yume-Polycule (not that this websight is letting me upload the ship tree, oh well.)

Psi: Is dating Floki with some slight notes of being a Kissmissis (though at some point it's really just a kinky relationship with a comfortable tittle- the Kissmissis bit is just play for them really). He has some sexual encounters with Ragnar but not outside the understanding of her rlationships to others.

For a bit they played an Auspisis roll between Floki and Athelstan to help them into a healthy Kissmisitude (as it would not tear him from their relationship) but stopped when it was stable.

Floki: Is dating Ragnar, it's love too strong to break even when Ragnar started acting really bad towards his partners, because Ragnar is its first and truest love.

Initially deeply hated Psi the same way it hates Athelstan, but Psi was able to shift it and their relationship was helped by there not being feelings between her and Ragnar) with the two ending up as matesprites- though they still play Kissmissis.

Did not like the relationship that was forming between Ragnar and Athelstan in a way that was threatening to pull their relationship apart. Was initially against Psi's Auspisising attempts, but come to understand and accept them, with the two developing their relationship as a Kissmissitude, with the slightest tint of red between them.

Floki does love Helga, genuinely but their relationship was never mutual. Floki's love of Helga has sexual connotations, but it's something akin to a Moraligance on his side or a QPR situation on it's side. It is entirely unaware that her love for it isn't the same, though there is part of it that is intentionally keeping it that way.

Helga: Only loves Floki, and has deeply red feelings for it. There is part of her that knows full well that it doesn't love her the same way she loves it, but she doesn't care. She can't care about it or it would tear her and their relationship apart. Part of her is a little sad that she didn't have anyone to help solidify their relationship, but is at a point that it couldn't change.

Ragnar: Married Laghertha due to a deep seeded love of her, though there was part of him that did kind of just marry her for the ability to have kids. When he brought Asalug into his life- and it was realized she was pregnant she tried, but he really didn't listen, and the two ended up getting divorced.

He loved Floki since they were young, and they were together with the understanding that Lagertha was okay with it, with rules about getting with other people. He broke those boundaries repeatedly, not seeing how much it hurt Floki. He didn't see the discomfort and then hate from Floki as anything that needed to be addressed, he didn't see how much Asalug upset Floki and the boundaries of the situation.

Ragnar did kind of love Asalug, but purely as someone who could give him more children, the children he was prophesied to have. This lead to a bitter hatred between the two, the two ending up despising and just using each other.

Athelstan was Ragnar's truest and deepest love above all and any else to the point that it threatened his other relationships. it did irreparable damage to things and even Athelstan had moments of not being comfortable with some of his relationship situations.

Asalug: She loved Ragnar, at the beginning, to the point that she took a Auspisising role with him and Lagertha thinking that she could make it work, but was too caught up with her own relationship with Ragnar and being at his side, which really did not help the relationship and tore it apart. After some time she started to hate Ragnar and their relationship became extremely toxic in both directions.

Asalug developed fast feelings for Harbard from the first time they met to the point of neglecting her family to be with him. They more or less dated for a bit but called it off when it was time for him to move on.

Forgot to add; Psi and Lagertha are Moirails. It started out as a really close friendship, Pai thought it to be sisterhood for a bit (not very long it felt icky to say that) , and then they ended up on being Moirails partly because the name felt more right than QPR for them

Also while this might seem pandemic the shop name of the tree as a whole is Time and Space Ships (ships like a fleet of boats) Floki/Psi is Tome and Space Boats as Floki is a boat builder
