BOKUTO

The room fell dead silent. No one spoke a word, but they all glanced at one another, all thinking the same thing.

Poor Y/n.

Your boyfriend was dared to kiss the most attractive person in the room, and in his drunken stupor he stumbled his way over to ex, effectively making out with her. You couldn’t say you were surprised by this- you always did feel like you were just a replacement- a rebound of sorts.

Still, you made your way out and onto the balcony, alone and away from everyone. You heard some sort of commotion inside, but what did it matter really.

And a few moments later, Bokuto comes out to join you, resting his arms on the balcony railing.

“If it makes you feel any better.... I punched him” he admits, and you chuckle.

“As a friend should” you murmur, resting your head on his shoulder. But Bokuto didn’t chuckle back, in fact, he was silent- a rare occurrence for him.

“Kou?” you ask, lifting your head, and you see Bokuto’s sad longing gaze towards you.

He leans his forehead onto yours, sighing to himself.

“Yup, just as friends should” he mutters, staring off to the empty street in front of him. Because as long as you are still with your jerk of a boyfriend, that’s all Bokuto could ever be for you.

You stay silent for a moment before smiling to yourself, giving Bokuto a small nudge to catch his attention.

“I’m thinking about breaking up with him you know. I mean, I’ve been thinking about it fora while- but I always held on because I gave him the benefit of the doubt. And then tonight happened... so I think it’s a sign” you say, watching Bokuto slowly nod at your words.

“So,” you continue, turning your gaze back onto the street, resting your head on his shoulder once again, “if you ever think we should change our ‘friend’ status to something else.. just let me know”

You don’t see the way Bokuto shakes his head in disbelief, a grin forming on his face. But his hand finds yours, and he holds it tight.

“Alright, I’ll be sure to tell you then”

SAKUSA

Sakusa wouldn’t normally go to any party- especially one thrown by your boyfriend. But you had urged him to go's he (begrudgingly) attends.

Fortunately- or maybe unfortunately- he arrived right at the beginning of truth or dare. And within in the two turns, things had gone horrendously wrong.

In the first turn, a girl answered truth. And when she had to name someone she would hookup with, she named your boyfriend. But that could be overlooked.. right?

Well when it was your boyfriend’s turn and he received the dare of kissing the most attractive person, he got right up to kiss the girl who wanted to hookup with him. You stood from where you sat, absolutely in shock of what had just happened. But before you could make any rash decisions, Sakusa holds you back.

When your asshole of a boyfriend turns around, seeing you in the arms of another man, he rushes up to the two of you, ready to confront Sakusa.

“How the hell did you get your driver’s license when you’re that blind?” Sakusa asks, carefully moving you behind him just in case any violence ensued. You hugged him tight, wondering if Sakusa could feel your heart beating hard.

“No but really, like I guess no offense to that girl for trying to get with a taken guy, but her morals are shit” Sakusa says out loud, and the girl becomes red with embarrassment when the people around her begin to laugh. But Sakusa turns back to your boyfriend, getting more pissed off the more he looked at your boyfriend’s face.

“What kind of sorry excuse of a boyfriend would ever think to kiss someone else when they have the most attractive s/o ever by their side? What more do you want from Y/n?” Sakusa asks, his towering height now apparent as he straightens up his posture.

Your boyfriend rolls his eyes, but secretly he did not want to get into any physical altercation- especially with Sakusa.

“Whatever, if you want to date Y/n go ahead” he mutters, effectively breaking up with you on the spot, and turning his attention back to the girl from earlier.

Sakusa escorts you out of the party, holding onto your hand tight. You gave it a little squeeze, catching his attention.

“Thanks.... for defending me back there” you murmur, “I really appreciate it”

He nods at you, and hesitates for a second before leaning down to give you a quick peck on the cheek. You don’t move away or protest, in fact you felt your own cheeks getting warm despite the cool air outside.

“I would’ve kissed you if I got the dare” he admits, his cheeks tinted a rosy pink. Sakusa didn’t want to progress any further just yet,- after all you had just been humiliated and dumped by your boyfriend.

He could be patient and wait for you to be ready. Heck, he’s been patient for as long as he could remember.

There was no rush for him.

HINATA

You smiled when you heard the dare your boyfriend was given.

Kiss the most attractive person in the room.

You turn towards him, expecting for him to kiss you- but to your horror, he made his way to the other side of the circle, kissing another girl- and for quite a while too. You didn’t know how to react. It was an absolute slap on the face to witness that. And when your boyfriend returned to his seat next to you, he saw the look on his face and shrugged.

“What? C’mon babe, when else am I gonna get the chance to kiss her?” he chuckles, and some of his own friends laugh as well. You were utterly embarrassed, but you didn’t want to make a scene, so you stay put. Tears were threatening to spill out of your eyes, but thank goodness the dimly lit room hid that from others.

“Wait can I get that prompt too?” someone asks, and there’s more laughter ensuing. You look up, recognizing that voice.

“Sure Hinata, go kiss the most attractive person in this room” one of your boyfriend’s friends says, and Hinata nods, slowly standing up.

Without any hesitation, Hinata walks directly over to you, kneeling down next to you. You blink at him in surprise, was he actually in front of you right now? Did he have you mistaken for someone else in this dim light?

“Hi Y/n” he says, smiling softly at you. His voice was enough to get your heart to flutter- something you felt guilty about feeling given that your boyfriend was sitting right next to you. Then again, you just saw your boyfriend’s true colors unfold right before you.

“Hinata what the f-” but your boyfriend is quickly interrupted.

“C’mon man, when else am I gonna get the chance to kiss them” Hinata mocks, ensuing more laughter from the crowd.

Hinata cups your cheek with one hand, “You don’t have to you know, just let me know, and I’ll back away.”

But to Hinata’s surprise, you leaned in first, kissing him. He slowly melted into the kiss, and you felt the butterflies in your stomach fluttering around. You wanted more, but Hinata quickly pulled away. His eyes slightly widen at you and he nervously covers his mouth with the back of his hand. You can barely make out a slight blush forming on his cheeks. He nods at you before returning back to his seat.

You’re still in a daze, not realizing that your own boyfriend has his hand resting on your thigh, his eyes shooting glares at Hinata. Hinata knows better than to fall for someone who’s already taken. It’ll only cause awkwardness and his own broken heart. But he sees the way you snap out of your thoughts. You side eye your boyfriend before shooing away his hand off your thigh. And when the two of you make eye contact, you give him a shy smile.

Hm, maybe, just maybe, Hinata’s willing to pursue this.

ATSUMU

Now, you would think when your boyfriend is dared to kiss the most attractive person in the room, he’d choose his own s/o. You would think.

So why the heck was he approaching some girl at the party? Not just that, but the same girl who you told your boyfriend you were uncomfortable with because it felt like she wanted to steal him away. The same girl he said not to worry about.

And when you see the smirk on the girl’s face right before she kisses your boyfriend, you get sinking feeling in your stomach, turning away to not look at the kiss. You wanted to disappear from everyone- you could sense the pity they took upon you.

“She’s B-tier at best” Atsumu hollers out, causing an uproar of laughter. You look up, and you see your boyfriend and the girl, both annoyed at Atsumu’s outburst.

“Dude, tell me why you have the most attractive person on this planet as your s/o and you go kissing the Wal-Mart version of them? As if there aren’t thousands of people waiting to date Y/n if given the chance” Atsumu says, and you feel your cheeks getting warmer with each praises he throws at you.

Atsumu makes his way towards you, and when he’s standing right in front of you, he wraps his arms around your waist, pulling you close.

“I- ‘Tsumu are you drunk” you ask, wondering where his sudden outburst is coming from. It was already embarrassing for your boyfriend to kiss someone else on his accord, you didn’t want to be further embarrassed by Atsumu’s little performance he was showing.

“I’m not.” he firmly says, his tone was serious. All of the lightheartedness from his earlier spiel was gone. If the music in the room wasn’t so loud, the room could’ve heard your heart beating.

“So many people are heard over heels for you Y/n, including me” he admits, leaning in to kiss you. And to everyone’s surprise, you kiss him back, limiting a roar of cheers from everyone else.

It was a brief kiss- but it felt like forever. And when Atsumu parts lips with you, he can’t help but smile. He pulls you in closer for a hug, resting his chin at the top of your head.

To no one’s surprise, your boyfriend breaks up with you then and there- outraged that you kissed another person. But the rest of the party berates your boyfriend for being a hypocrite, causing him and the other girl to leave the party.

When they’re gone, Atsumu pulls you aside, out of the eyes of others, making sure you were alright.

“Did you mean that?” you ask him, taking him by surprise. You had to make sure, that the little stunt Atsumu had pulled was genuine- that he wasn’t just saying those words as a performance.

Atsumu shakes his head at you, cupping your face to kiss you on the forehead.

“If anything, I didn’t even get close enough to expressing all of my feelings for you Y/n” he softly says, resting his forehead on yours.

And you knew that his words were anything but a performance.

literally on your first day, Meian greets you with a smile and gestures over to where Bokuto, Atsumu, Sakusa, and Hinata are sitting and goes, “those are the ones you need to watch over the most”

he’s half joking

Bokuto loves to talk to you, learning how your day was, your likes, dislikes, etc

you honestly can’t tell if he’s doing this because he’s genuinely friendly or if he has a crush on you

the answer is a bit of both, but are we surprised? the whole team has a crush on you

Atsumu desperately tries to impress you every day. everytime he gets service ace, he’ll turn to look at you, waiting for some sort of comment on it

and when you give him a thumbs up, he becomes like a little puppy, so happy from the praise

but he’ll act like it’s no big deal what a loser

Sakusa keeps his distance with you at first, but when he sees that you’re not constantly bothering him and actually respecting his boundaries, he begins letting you into his circle

most of the time the two of you have pleasant talks, but every so often he’ll throw in a little cheeky remark or tease you just a bit to throw you off

he’s somehow both subtle and obvious with his flirting, it just doesn’t make any sense

if Hinata’s learned anything from his time in Brazil (and with Oikawa), it’s how to be smooth

he tries to be sneaky by offering to teach you about volleyball and how to play it- which is all an excuse to get close to you

but he’s still sweet and caring and doesn’t overstep your boundaries

and while the four youngest have a ‘friendly’ competition when it comes to your affection, they can all agree on one thing: Meian is the enemy

don’t get them wrong, they love their captain, but seeing you talking to Meian, smiling and laughing?? they become children at that sight

it’s no wonder why Meian joked about you being their babysitter

regardless, when you applied to be their manager, one thing you wouldn’t never expected to happen was to become relatively well known yourself

in fact you gain major notoriety during the match against the Schweiden Adlers, since that was your first major appearance with the team

and volleyball fans were floored by you

you looked absolutely adorable cheering on for your team

somehow by the end of the night, you’re trending online. specifically, a gif of you learning about the win and cheering for the Black Jackals went viral

BOKUTO

“You know you can go up and talk to him instead of staring from afar? He’s your boyfriend after all” a voice whispers in your ear, startling you out of your daze. You turn to see Kuroo grinning before you.

Nekoma and Fukurodani had a practice match with one another, and you stopped by to cheer your school on. But your focus was anywhere but that.

“Kou is too busy talking to one of his managers....” you mutter, flickering your eyes back on your boyfriend and Yukie. You didn’t have a serious grudge against Yukie; she was extremely friendly to you when Bokuto introduced you to the team. Still, you thought she was really pretty and was a bit upset by how close the two seemed to be.

Kuroo raises an eyebrow, “... hold on a second. Is little Y/n jealous of Shirofuku?” and he cackled, only to stop when he saw your unchanged expression.

“Well- yeah! She’s so cute and she’s really good friends with Koutarou, and she’s also super duper nice, which makes me feel worse about it!” you pout, finally deciding to turn towards Kuroo and away from the other two.

“At least you know it’s unreasonable to think that way... They’re basically siblings Y/n.” Kuroo shrugs, but surprise surprise, that didn’t make you feel any better.

Something catches Kuroo’s attention for a split second, and his demeanor slightly changes. He pulls you in for a tight hug and starts whispering in your ear.

“I’m sorry you feel that way, but I’m sure it’s all fine. Anyways I was thinking that we should have a little surprise party for our favorite owl, what do you think?”

You’re confused by his actions but you just roll with it.

“Uhh, yeah that sounds like a good idea.....” you reply, and once you do, Kuroo let’s go of his embrace, smirking at you.

“Sound’s great Y/n, and just remember, it’ll be our little secret~” he says out loud, winking at you before being pulled away by Kenma.

“Kuroo, please don’t cause trouble for Y/n-san” Kenma mutters, walking away with the captain.

Still perplexed by what happened, you turn back around only to see your boyfriend in front of you, slightly pissed- but not at you. His glare was centered on Kuroo, but when he directs his attention back to you, his eyes are full of panic.

“Hey birdie! So uhh... what were you talking about with Kuroo? I heard you guys have a secret?” he asks, awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck.

“Well... it’s a secret Kou! Don’t worry about it!” you try to reassure your boyfriend, but he only gets more restless.

“Why do you even need to talk to Nekoma’s captain anyways? You can always chat with your sweet, cute, way better boyfriend” Bokuto chuckles half-heartedly.

“I mean... you were too busy talking with Yukie” you mumbled, but you slapped your hand over your mouth when you realized how pessimistic you sounded.

Bokuto blinked at you. Once, then twice.

“-eh? Y/n.. are you jealous of her?” he asked, tilting his head like an owl.

“I- no well.... a little... she’s just really pretty and super close to you and-” your words are cut short with a sudden kiss. When you pull back your boyfriend grins at you.

“Yukie is just like a sister to me. If anything she likes you more than me....” Bokuto chuckles, but his face grows serious for a moment, “Oh, what if she’s trying to steal you away from me...” but he shakes his head at the idea.

“Anyways birdie, you’re my s/o and the only one I’ll ever care about so don’t worry your pretty head, okay?” he says, attacking you with a hug.

You sigh, content with the resolution of your dilemma and you let the hug linger for a moment.

“Oh by the way Y/n...”

“Yes Kou?”

“....can you tell me the secret now?”

OIKAWA

Having a popular boyfriend was never going to be easy. He was constantly surrounded by fangirls. But you learned to grow accustomed to it since it was nothing more than mindless adoration.

But this team’s manager, on the other hand, was not a fangirl. She was extremely attractive, and a diligent worker, getting along well with everyone on the team, your boyfriend included. Although, in your eyes it seemed like she was especially close to Oikawa. While you waved their interactions off as common (since he was the captain, she the manager), it still didn’t feel great to witness their banter.

You sat on the benches in the gym, watching the team practice. You had rarely visited, and thus you were unable to get a good read on the manager. It’s not like you despised her in any way, especially not without a valid reason.

But that didn’t help the fact that you felt uneasy. Especially when she and Oikawa were talking across the gym from you, engaging in what seems like an exciting conversation.

You watched as she tiptoed to whisper something in Oikawa’s ear, and when he smiled at her your heart dropped. Despite knowing that there weren’t any bad intentions, you couldn’t shake off the uneasy feeling you had.

For the rest of practice, you gave your boyfriend the cold shoulder. You didn’t mean to, but with how apprehensive you felt, you honestly didn’t know how to face him. But being immature over this situation instead of being honest with your boyfriend only made you more frustrated at yourself.

You also kept noticing the manager glance at you for a brief second- and when your eyes met she would quickly dart them away. And somehow this only made you more restless. The girl who was seemingly close with your boyfriend kept staring at you.. that didn’t sit well with you. You didn’t want to think about the possibility that maybe the team’s manager liked your boyfriend, but it was easy to fall paranoid.

Midway through practice, the manager walked over to you, taking a seat right next to you. She stayed quiet for a few moments before turning to face you.

“Y/n, right? I don’t think we’ve officially met.” she says, briefly introducing herself. She was seemingly nervous about something, and after a few deep breaths she spoke again.

“Do you think you can help me confess to Yahaba?” she quickly blurts out. Your brain takes a moment to process her words. She likes... Yahaba? Not your boyfriend?

“I initially asked Oikawa to help me because I thought he confessed to you because let’s be real, you’re way out of his league. But when he told me you were the one who confessed first, I thought I should ask you for help and he said I should go for it!!” she quickly explains, her cheeks already turning rosy.

Now, there was a part of you that felt great relief that she didn’t like your boyfriend. But you also felt guilty for having your doubts. She was cute, and seeing her near your boyfriend made you the tiniest bit resentful towards her. The least you could do was help her out.

The two of you exchange numbers, planning to talk more about her confession in the future. She happily scurries off as practice ends, giving a thumbs up to Oikawa before skipping over to Yahaba to chat with him.

Your own boyfriend makes his way over to stand in front of where you’re sitting. He crosses his arms at you, and you can’t help but feel small.

“Are you gonna stop ignoring me now?” he asks, and when you continue to avoid your gaze, he leans forward, cupping your face so you can look at him. It was quite obvious that he knew you were feeling jealous- your boyfriend could read you like a map.

“Yes...... your manager told me she was planning on confessing to Yahaba....”you mumble, feeling your lips pucker at Oikawa squishes your face.

“Mhmm, so no need to get all jealous and avoidant. Plus even if she did like me,  it wouldn’t matter since I’m terribly in love with you Y/n. And I’m going to make sure that you’re reminded of that every day, is that alright?” he asks before he leans closer to give you a small peck.

When he finally lets go of your face you spring up from your seat, wrapping your arms around your boyfriend.

“Yes it is... I love you” you mumble back burying your face into him so he wouldn’t see how shy you’ve become. You wonder what did you even do to deserve someone as great as him.

But unbeknownst to you, Oikawa was fervently blushing at how cute you are, also wondering what he did to deserve you.

ATSUMU

You had heard from your boyfriend that the volleyball team recently got a new manager.

“Yeah she’s really chill, you should meet her. I think you two would make great friends” Atsumu says, and you excitedly nod. You didn’t have anything to do after class that day, so you were looking forward to meet her.

During class, you managed to find her on Instagram, and when you scrolled through her profile, your heart dropped. She was so pretty and based on her posts, an equally cool person.

And suddenly, you couldn’t help but feel insecure. This girl would constantly be around your boyfriend nearly everyday. Now you knew Atsumu was loyal and loved you very much. Still, it was easy to get jealous and let your fears cloud your judgment.

You were no longer looking forward to meeting the new manager. But you had promised to visit, so when class ended, you begrudgingly made your way to the gym. It took you a while to hype yourself up and walk through the gym doors. The team was just hanging around, doing stretches. On the other side of the gym, you saw your boyfriend. And standing right next to him was their manager. The two were engrossed in some sort of conversation, too busy to notice you come in.

“Atsumu, look who’s here” Aran calls for the setter’s attention.

Upon seeing you, your boyfriend’s face lit up and he motioned you to come forward. And as you walked closer, you saw the manager tip toe to whisper something in his ear. Atsumu looked taken aback, and playfully thwacked the manager’s forehead.

You almost froze in place- were they that close already? As you got closer to the duo, you felt more and more uneasy.

The manager pushes your boyfriend aside to skip towards you. She introduces herself, and tells you how she’s been excited to meet you ever since Atsumu told her about you. Your boyfriend tries to get a word in but she waves him off.

“Don’t you have practice??” she asks, whisking you away to the bleachers to chat, ignoring Atsumu’s clamors that she needed to ‘watch herself’.

Honestly, you had hoped that maybe she had a nasty personality so you would have a reason to feel uneasy around her. But she was probably the coolest person you’ve been around. Which only made you feel worse about your own feelings of jealousy and resentment. You legitimately liked talking to her, and found yourself becoming friendlier with her. But still in the back of your mind were your fears that someone this perfect was always around your boyfriend.

"Ahhh I’m so glad I got to meet you!! Atsumu talks about you so much and said you were amazing. But personally, I think you’re even cooler than how he described you” she giggles, and you feel your cheeks get warmer. It gave you some reassurance to know that your boyfriend still thought so highly of you.

“You know I’m surprised that none of the team has confessed to you already.” you point out.

“Why’s that?” she asks, genuinely confused at what you were saying.

“Well, you’re just so pretty and so fun to talk to! The fact that none of the team is visibly crushing on you confuses me” you chuckle, and you watch as her cheeks turn rosy.

“I- thank you” she murmurs, avoiding eye contact with you.

“I think you’re cute too” she replies, and you smile at her. She was sweet, and you felt your worries about your boyfriend fade away. This might have been your first meeting with her, but you genuinely felt like she didn’t even consider dating Atsumu.

All of a sudden, a volleyball is chucked at her, missing her head by a couple of feet. You turn to see Atsumu walking towards the both of you, frustration all over his face.

“OH MY GOD I SAID TO BEFRIEND Y/N NOT FLIRT WITH THEM YOU HOMEWRECKER” Atsumu screeches as the rest of the team cackles.

You watch the manager stand up, her hands balled into fists.

“IT’S NOT MY FAULT Y/N IS SO CUTE. LET ME SHOOT MY SHOT” she yells back.

It took you a moment to process the whole situation. You were too engrossed in your worries that she would steal Atsumu away from you that you failed to consider that she was really trying to steal you away from him. Huh.

She turns back to you, now sheepish, “Ah, I’m sorry for not respecting your boundaries. I’m hoping the we can still stay friends?” she asks, and you nod in agreement.

“Yeah, and you’ll stay friends. You’re going to live with your unrequited feelings forever!!” Atsumu says. He turns to you, and pulls you in for a deep kiss in front of his manager before retrieving the ball and returning to practice.

atsumu woke up suddenly, an unexplainable voice in his head telling him to wake up and make sure the feeling in his gut was true.

you were sleeping beside him, a peaceful look on your face and he couldn't help but smile at the sight, bringing a hand up to caress your cheek, his smile widening when you leaned into his touch, even in your sleep.

he moved closer and pressed a kiss to your forehead. "baby." nothing. he tried again. "baby come on wake up." he pressed a few more kisses to your face and squeezed and poked at your sides until you grumbled in confusion and irritation, swatting his hand away in slow motion.

"what is it?" you mumbled, your words barely intelligible, your eyes still closed.

"i just have a quick question."

"what time is it?"

atsumu glanced at the clock on your nightstand and made a face when he realized it was three in the morning. "that's not important."

you sighed and nodded. "mmm."

he paused for a moment and slowly slid the covers off of you, tilting his head to look at your stomach. looks normal.

you huffed and made a noise of complaint, making him apologize quietly "sorry sorry–" and put the covers back in place.

you let out a few sounds that he assumed meant you wanted him to continue so you could go back to sleep so he went on. "i just had to ask babe...are you pregnant?"

all day you could feel his gaze lingering on you for longer than usual. and this time, it seemed inquisitive, so you couldn't help but feel a bit confused and quite frankly, on edge.

his eyes were trained on you as you watched tv, your legs in his lap on the couch. you blinked a few times before clearing your throat awkwardly and turning to face him sheepishly.

"are you okay?"

he narrowed his eyes, "yeah. are you?"

your brows furrowed and you tilted your head, "yeah? why wouldn't i be?"

he stared at you for a few more seconds silently and just as you contemplated whether or not to simply ignore him or ask more questions, he spoke up again.

"are you..." he hesitated on the next word, "pregnant?"

you blinked at him and he blinked back.

"no??"

he paused for a moment, then nodded. "okay...never mind then." he finally turned to face the tv for the first time since he sat down, like nothing happened, and you were left there, more confused than ever.
