A Nekrasov Cossack bride being crowned with a kichka
The kichka is a traditional Russian bridal headdress historically worn throughout the southern regions of the country, namely the areas corresponding to modern Ryazan, Tula, Kaluga, and Orel. Its origins trace back to ancient times when female shamans would wear the horns of various animals as magical talismans. The length of the horns would represent status; the more elderly a woman was the longer her horns were and thus the more authority she had among her clan. The horns also represented fertility, and because of this eventually evolved into the horned kichka headdress worn by brides in more modern times. For many centuries the Russian Orthodox Church condemned kichka headdresses associating them with paganism, and because of this their use gradually declined. Despite this they were regularly worn by brides in certain regions of the country, such as Voronezh, until the 1950s.

Unpopular Opinions
• There are only 2 genders - Male and Female
• Pansexuality is just a fancier name for Bisexuality. Even if you believe that there are more than two genders, there are only two sexes. Bisexuality is the attraction to both the sexes.
• You need dysphoria to be transgender. Being trans is not a choice. It’s a very difficult thing to deal with and by saying it’s a choice you are demeaning the struggles that actual trans people face.
• The Fat Acceptance / Health at Every Size movement is bullshit. It’s absolutely okay to be fat. It’s absolutely not okay to spread misinformation that being fat is healthy or that losing weight is impossible.
• The feminist movement is more of a leftist movement than a movement for women right now.
• Reverse racism isn’t a thing because it’s just called racism. If you dislike or are prejudiced against a person simply due to their skin tone, that’s being racist.
• MOGAI identities and neopronouns are not only silly, they are genuinely harmful to the LGBT community.
• Your race, gender and sexuality are only a minor part of you. They do not make you special. They are not your personality.
• Men face struggles too. Men are more likely to be victims of violent assault and almost never win child custody battles. There are hardly any male only centres for victims of sexual assault. Men do get sexually assaulted a significant amount more than people consider as the definition rape only includes penetration, skewing the statistics. Forced oral sex and the like is not counted, which is why male rape statistics seem so low at first glance.
• Women are not inherently goddesses. Men are not inherently evil.
• There is nothing wrong with being cis, white and male. Not being these things also doesn’t make you a better person.
• Words only have the power you assign to them. It’s silly to be afraid of them, irrespective of their usage in the past. All words have a history. By being afraid of them, you only give them more power and continue to dwell in the past.
• It’s absolutely okay to eat the food of and wear the clothes of other cultures as a means to immerse yourself and learn more. Segregation does no good, it never has.
• Your mental illness doesn’t cure you of your sins. It’s not a get out of jail free card if you were present, aware and in control of what you were doing.
• Your political leaning does not automatically make you a good/bad person. Your actions do.

When I start to lose my faith in humanity, this beautiful post crosses my feed. 😢😊😍
They don’t make them like they used to anymore.
I get that being frozen for 100 years is a tough thing to go through but honestly Aang should have used it for comedy more
Katara: wow so this is Omashu
Aang: back in my day it was called weed city
Sokka: I’m… pretty sure it wasn’t
Aang: that’s what the fire nation wants you to think
Bumi, the second they arrive: welcome to weed city
Sokka: what the fuck
Imagine them getting stuck in Ba Sing Se and Aang just being like, “I wonder if the sandal pit is still here.”
And everyone’s like, “The what?”
And he’s all, “The sandal pit. It’s where I buried all the sandals of people who were mean to me and my friends.”
Cut to the gaang walking around town, and Aang’s muttering about it being around here somewhere, when suddenly Toph stops and says, “There’s a big pile of sandals about fifty feet below that cobbler’s house,” and Sokka loses his mind.
This raises the question of whether Aang is telling the truth or if Toph and Bumi just happen to have the same sense of humor as him.
Okay but toph would be able to tell if aang is lying so.
clearly she absolutely goes along with it if he is
Aang asks where the tailor is and Zuko stops mid-battle to tell “You don’t know about the mass production of clothes? How old are your clothes?”
Aang asks, “How old are my clothes!? How old am I?”
Alternatively, very much attempted to be nonchalant, Aang replies “120 years, give or take.”
Aang: Respect your elders!
Katara, pinching her nose: Aang we’re all literally developmentally older than you
Aang: Wippersnappers.
Bonus: he says these things in his Mr. Pippinpadelopsecopolis The Third voice

Some Photoshop Tips
I’ve been getting quite a few asks about the process for the patterns in my stylized artworks, so I decided to put together a couple of tips regarding them.
Firstly, what you need are
— CUSTOM BRUSHES —
Most of the patterns I use are custom brushes I made, such as those:
For the longest time I was convinced making brushes must be super extra complicated. I was super extra wrong. All you need to start is a transparent canvas (2500px x 2500px max):
This will be your brush tip. When you’re satisfied how it looks, click Ctrl+A to select the whole canvas and go to ‘define brush preset’ under the edit menu
You will be asked to name your new glorious creation. Choose something that describes it well, so you can easily find it between all the ‘asfsfgdgd’ brushes you’ve created to be only used once
This is it. Look at it, you have just created a photoshop brush. First time i did I felt like I was cheated my whole life. IT’S SO EASY WHY HASN’T ANYONE TOLD ME
Time to edit the Good Boi to be more random, so it can be used as a Cool Fancy Pattern. Go into brush settings and change whatever you’d like. Here’s a list of what I do for patterns:
- under Shape Dynamics, I increase Size Jitter and Angle jitter by 5%-15%
- under Brush Tip Shape, I increase spacing by a shitload. Sometimes it’s like 150%, the point is to get the initial brush tip we painted to be visible.
- If I want it to look random and noisy, I enable the Dual Brush option, which acts like another brush was put on top of the one we’ve created. You can adjust all of the Dual Brush options (Size, Spacing, Scatter, Count) as you wish to get a very nice random brush to smear on your backgrounds
The result is as above. You can follow the same steps to create whatever brush you need: evenly spaced dots that look like you painted them by hand, geometric pattern to fill the background, a line of perfectly drawn XDs and so on.
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE
— PATHS —
But what if you want to get lots of circles made of tiny dots? Or you need rows of triangles for your cool background? Photoshop can do all of that for you, thanks to the magic of paths.
Typically, paths window can be found right next to Layers:
Draw whatever path you want, the Shape Tool has quite a bit of options. Remember, paths are completely different from brush strokes and they won’t show up in the navigator. To move a path around, click A to enable path selection tool. You can use Ctrl+T to transform it, and if you move a path while pressing Alt it will be duplicated.
Now, pick a brush you wish really was in place of that path you’ve drawn and go to layers, then choose the layer you want it to be drawn on. Then, click this tiny circle under the Paths window:
Then witness the magic of photoshop doing the drawing for you while you wonder how tf have you managed to forget about this option for the past 2 years
You can combine special brushes and paths for all sorts of cool effects. I mostly use them in backgrounds for my cards, but you can do whatever you want with them.
I hope that answers the questions for all of the people who were sending me inquires about the patterns. If you have any questions regarding this or any other Photoshop matter feel free to message me, I’m always up for complaining about how great and terrible Photoshop is C’:
