« Before you say anything, » Mark casually extended his arm to press his index finger to Yusuke’s lips, with this action hoping to silence the other. Not for long, for Mark knew it wasn’t possible. Just enough for him to earn some precious minutes. « I have to say that it never felt this bad to just lay down on your couch, » he grumbled, gazing into the other’s dark eyes. « So I’m here to kindly advise you to buy yourself a new one. Until then, » Mark made himself comfortable, pulling the blanket up on himself.
Luckily for Yusuke, he wasn’t fond of sleeping naked. Once comfortable enough and a little curled up, but with his forefinger still pressed to Yusuke’s lips, Mark blinked. « What was I saying? Ah, yes! Until then, I’ll sleep here, » with a playful grin, the young male then quickly clung to the blanket with both his hands. That way if Yusuke wanted to kick him out the bed, at least would he fall down to the floor with the blanket.
Graciously, Yusuke allows Mark the time it takes for him to explain, though that does nothing to lessen the tired, grumpy squinting; nor does it help to abate the temptation to bite the finger currently attempting to keep him quiet. Thankfully for the other male, he wasn’t actually asleep when the intrusion of the covers had begun - that being something that would have ended in horror for both sides involved - and so Yusuke manages to keep himself contained to a low, menacing murmur. “Oh -- well that’s a good thing. I just found a new couch, you know.”
That’s all the warning given -- all the warning that Yusuke figured Mark deserved for the bed invasion and blanket hogging -- before he roots for the reserves of his energy and comes to quickly push the remainder of the covers across the male until he looked like a large, padded lump. From there it’s just . . . far, far too easy. Easy enough for him to simply flop, not even the slightest attempt of elegance being feigned, relentlessly resting all of his weight atop the padded lump with a dramatic sigh implying complete and utter comfort. “Ah... It’s so comfy. I might just -- sleep on this couch all night long... A couch doesn’t mind if I wriggle or kick in the night, after all...”

HEY GUYS if a thread is boring (you lost muse, you’re just not into it) then DROP IT! i don’t give a fuck, i’d rather you drop it than have you force yourself to reply to a thread that you don’t want to write anymore. no hard feelings, just ditch it, drop it like a hot potato. erase it from your memory, get rid of it. and if you come up with a better thread, just send a message or post a starter.

“Whatever, peasant.” Without sneering Eunsoo was simply not herself – his response to her words had her both smirking in derision and entertainment – his comments always had her smirking somehow. He was an unsual cup of tea and she found that incredible – having someone who did not question her actions and utters much as others. How fantastic. Slender fingers moving wild and unobedient strands of hair which the winds blew onto her face, not that she had any view to miss, whatever was hidden by the dark hair had sickened her. People, how pathetic. A scrunch of her nose and she was glancing at him once he received her attention, the vexation was quite evident upon her features – she’s never been able to hide her ire. “Well… there’s no special occassion. Let’s just engulf whatever our stomachs can. I don’t mind passing out tonight.”
“You don’t? Well, if you’re sure that no-one’s gonna come kicking at my door demanding where you are when you’ve passed out, the spare room is all your domain.” There was something comforting in spending time with someone as irritable as Eunsoo, as strange as it sounded. Yusuke was always prone to a quick temper once given reason, a short fuse once struck if there ever was one, and even if he was -- perhaps -- not as perpetually irritable as his present company, it was a refreshing change to those who masked their emotions behind fake, plastic little smiles. That alone earned his respect, unhealthy or not. Another swig, perhaps two, enough to feel the comforting warmth of liquor spreading through his chest and Yusuke is holding the bottle up in comparison to the female’s, smile playful and coming ever closer to devilish. “Now then -- I think someone has a little catchin’ up to go for here to start with, huh? Then we can see what fun we can have with these.”
daekan:
Discomfort; the male didn’t favor the inevitable closeness against another’s space as he tried his best to slip through the crowd, and out the exit. Exhaling a heated deep breath, fresh air immediately embraces his figure, and eases him down. Adjusting his grasp on the drink, then soon ironing the front of his shirt with his unoccupied hand, he flicks his attention to the male, shuffling over, “Yeah, I’m fine.” Sipping from his drink, he stations himself next to him, as his gaze roamed the area in search for the fair the other had just mentioned. “We should definitely go then! I haven’t been to one since… Never.” A chortle slips from the lock of his lips, making the confession a tad humorous than what it actually was, hiding the sad truth behind it. Motioning with the point of his head, he gestures the other to lead the way, as he shortly follows aside of him. “Let’s go, let’s go!” He reeks childlike enthusiasm, as the occasional spring on his step excited his pace, while a bright grin smudged his features. Constantly, his head steals a glance from the male, feeling the need to ask him about more about their destination, to raise his growing anticipation. “I have no clue what a fair looks like. Well…I guess, I sort of do? I’ve heard about it, and seen scenes of it on television. They always looked fun.” He begins to ramble, an obvious sign of his taking of interest, “You said something about a maze right? Is that like one of the activities set up there? That sounds cool, though. I really like mazes too.” His own words tease his own excitement; just the thought of going somewhere other than his own bedroom to rest was enough to place him in a happier mood.
The surprise from such a revelation is poorly concealed upon Yusuke’s features, eyes briefly widening and momentarily speechless as he seems to catch up with what his companion had just admitted. The thought was strange to him, fairs and festivals having been a regular occurrence where he had grown up, available even if he had been too busy to go to many of them. There was no pity there, just simple confusion -- are fairs so rare here? Still, it takes only the length of a sip of his drink before Yusuke is fully behind the idea; what was better to cap off a meeting with an almost stranger than taking him for his first trip to a fair? If they were going to spend the day together, there was no point in not going all in for the occasion. “Mhmm, I think it’s meant to be pretty big too, though I think it’s made outta straw as well as plants ‘n stuff? Should be good so long as you don’t have hay fever?” A soft snicker escapes despite the worrying thought if it happened to be true, accompanied with a light little nudge to the male’s arm. “If you’ve never gone before it should definitely be good! Even if the games might be a little -- different to what i’m used to, you can always count on a fair for good food.”
As usual Yusuke is far too easily enthused by the slightest of things, and the other’s excitement as they draw nearer to the fair is far too contagious. He can feel it already, the nostalgia and feeling a little like he was a teenager once again, getting ready to spend what time he could on fair games and junk food. “I don’t know what the fairs here look like, but back home they were always -- bright? Always busy, but the good kind. ‘M not sure if there’s more rides or anything here than we had, but the games are always good. And there’s always some real, uh ... Fashionable... masks ‘n hats out there. Real stylish.” A soft laugh accompanies his words, pausing only to take another sip of his drink before the ice could melt before his pace begins to pick up, spurred on by the strangely familiar tunes of a stereotypical fairground growing clearer as they come closer. “So -- You’ve really not been to a fair before? What about, uh-.. Theme parks? Do you guys have carnivals here? I’ve never been to one of those--....”

As the male rambled on about things beyond his comprehension, his gaze brightened up ever so slightly, almost impossible to detect behind the alcohol-induced haze. Ordering another drink, Yoongi rested his head on his fist, threatening to almost slip off and crash against their shared booth on occasion. But he remained attentive, attempting to log all this new information for further pondering, at a later time. What’s left of his logic though knows better, that he won’t remember a bit of this conversation the next day, when he finally wakes up, pounding headache the only remnant of a fun evening. In this moment, he respected Yusuke more than anyone he knew in the entire world - even more than Stephen King. Obviously, this was merely a side-effect of the liquid coursing through his veins, but it felt real nonetheless. Most people were cuddly, or sleepy, or worse when intoxicated. Yoongi certainly fell into the sleepy category more times than not, but rarely did he fell affectionate or lustful. Rather, he tried to pry into people’s heads and learn more about them. Questioning their history, when they had their first kiss, if they had even broken any bones, and most, importantly, what their favorite horror film was. Most of the time, he’d simply forget everything he had learned, except for a few dredged remains. Then other times, they were weaved into his stories, without him realizing, until said person came up to him and gushed about it. “Honestly? That’s so fucked, don’;t you think? Why do humans constantly work to make things beyond our control? Like I read articles all the time about scientists saying they could bring dinosaurs back to life within a few years time. And I’m like okay, but have you never seen Jurassic Park? The entire movie is about how that’s a bad fucking idea.” Drunken philosophies continued to slip from his lips, face contorting into its typical scowl. “Why? I’m not really into Sci-Fi. You’d have to teach me more about robots, before I did something like that. Actually, I’m just pretty goddamn terrified at the notion.”
As usual Yoongi's scepticism seemed only to amuse him further, far from deterring Yusuke from any further line of questioning - not when the ranting it so easily gained him was this entertaining. He had always had more of an unusual sense of humour, most often morbid, dirty, or simply just eccentric; and his current company usually seemed to hit more aspects than he missed. It was true that he barely knew the guy, at least not past a scarce few snippets of conversation here and there - didn't know his lifelong ambitions or his favourite colour, hadn't shared them either, and wasn't entirely sure that he wanted to - but there was enough there to take amusement in his attitude. "I don't think it's trying to make things beyond our control, I think a lot of people just want to know what they could control, if that makes any sense. 'Course that's all gonna lead to a similar result, but... Did they say if they were actually gonna give the whole dinosaur resurrection thing a go? I know there was this team that dug out this preserved frozen mammoth... I think Sooam's the one trying to clone it actually. Prehistoric uprising could be just around the corner, never mind the robots. No movie about that one, but you'd think they would kinda get the picture by now." The pause is followed by another swig of his drink - determined to take it easier than the last time he had gone to a bar, a night hugging the toilet bowl wasn't his favourite thing - before quickly ordering his next. For once the buzz was taking a long time to sink in, thankfully, so far limited to tingling fingers and a promoted ease of confidence. As far as Yusuke was concerned he should be fine with continuing the conversation without slipping in just how close Yoongi's fears were coming to a reality - technically under his own hands, no less. Besides, it was far more tempting to push the other's cheeks up in a smile - an irritating act, he knew, simply making it all the more tempting - so there was at least no immediate danger in sight. "There's nothing to say it's gonna be all doom and gloom though, c'mon. As much as I love all those gruesome tales and conspiracy theories goin' on about it, there's a lot of engineers thinking they'll be fine coinciding with us. I mean -- it's like predator/prey balances that we have now. Which doesn't sound comforting, but uh... We have chickens. We have cows, cats, dogs, leopards, snakes, fuckin' hornets the horrid things-- We're more powerful than them, but we still fight to keep them existing, decent population and give them a fairly good life. Same with us, they could just see us as part of a natural balance rather than something to wipe off the planet. It's not like they're programmed with a reason to try killing all of us." A small shrug and a bigger smile, one truly excited at the prospect of seeing his dreams come to fruition, apocalypse or not. "Then there's the chance they'll try enhance us, y'know? Medically, physically... Things you get in superhero stories could be the norm. A bit farfetched, but still. We might be able to explore other galaxies thanks to them, help recover the environment.. You don't think that's cool?"

at least he could admit that he had problems with saying goodbye. there wasn’t a thing in the wasn’t brave enough to say out loud, really. brave or bold enough. though he often appeared as rude from another’s perspective. though he’s not good at reading people, he can tell there’s something going on with the other male and his parents. that is of course something he won’t be trying to stick his nose in anytime soon but it does make him wonder a little bit more about the boy. vernon never really had problems with his own parents, at least not problems that count as bad. he dropped out from school and did all those weird things that worries every parent but he never fought much with them. they just tagged along on the sidelines whilst he did his stupid things. though he knew they worried a little too much like when he wanted his own knife they questioned him or when he wanted money for things he couldn’t tell them about. but no major problem. they were really just there his entire childhood.
“you would tell your boss?” for a moment there, he can’t really believe the other is serious. when getting the news that he was going to die, he’d tell his boss? some people are too nice and too structured to live like he does or even live at all. when jobs become so important that life and fun comes after. and even though the other male never said anything to indicate that he values his job highly, it annoys vernon. “yeah you might think someone out there would care for my death but it’s also cool if they don’t, nothing to be mad about.” he’s quite relaxed for one that’s talking about his own death and the reactions to it. many others he know of would’ve wanted a bigger reaction, a funeral, crying relatives and all that crap that he doesn’t have. his relatives knows about his bad image and crying is something he cannot stand. “i think goodbyes are stupid, you never know if you’ll see each other again.” even though death probably means never meeting again. he pauses for a moment, gaze flickering from the streets and the back at the other. “what’s your name?”
it only occurs to him about a few moments too late how his confession must have sounded - a young geekish man with nothing better to do than work. which - well, it wasn’t wrong - yusuke was far too married to his job for his age - but without knowing what his job was, it probably came off far differently than how it was meant. if the tables were turned yusuke would hold that exact same tone of disbelief that his present company was -- one that he really, really has to hold back from snickering at -- most likely imagining an incredibly passionate cashier, librarian, milkman. . . the image itself startles an abrupt snort of laughter, rendering earlier attempts of stifling laughter down entirely worthless; looking far too happy to simply nod along with the male’s assumption with an all too proud grin. “yep, I would tell my boss. i’m irreplaceable y’know, they’d be lost without me. besides if I give them a heads up, they might do me a favour. preserve my brain, put it in an android one day. that’d be fun.”
another short pause comes easily between them, the silence easy with no pressure to suddenly speak up as he mulls over the male’s perspective. it wasn’t often you could meet someone sounding so blasé over the matter of their own death, definitely a unique mindset if there ever was one. “nothing to be mad about, huh... hmm. nah, I still think there’s bound to be someone that does. even if it’s just someone who used to babysit you, it’s still somethin’. everyone has an effect - like it or not. you wouldn’t make an exception for goodbyes before you go though? I mean.. i’m one for the whole rebirth thing, but even a ‘until next time’ is something to ... help keep them going? that make any sense?” digits come to rub at his nape, thoughtful rather than sheepish, dwelling over his own logic for the shortest of moments until he’s surprised with the male’s glance in his direction. a friendly curl comes to his lips despite the surprise, habitual, he hadn’t expected that the stranger would want to know anything about him outside of the morbid topic and perspective of death - and wasn’t that a weird thought. “ah-- it’s yusuke. what’s yours?”

[sms; Yusuke] Pints a good size? Cause then we can have our own.
[sms; Yusuke] And I thought I was the dramatic one, fine I’ll be over in a bit. But before you die on me, what flavor you want?
[ txt → zhou mi ] A pint sounds perfect! If you feel particularly godly in kindness levels pistachio would be great, otherwise mint choc? [ txt → zhou mi ] Also in case you come too late to save my withering soul, spare key is in the plant pot. I hear ice cream is a+ for resurrection purposes, so don’t worry too much.
sonkierv:
Sperm costume with little arms and legs poking out– oh god when did the idea of this even enter their minds. Kiera was laughing, tears starting to form at the corner of her eyes with her other arm curled around her stomach. Oh dear god. “Oh my god– stop it!” The fact that they were in a public place, specifically a coffee shop, their noise possibly bothered the people around and Kiera being Kiera, she didn’t want that to happen.
Little giggle still slipping through her lips at the thought of the sperm costumes, she spoke to him again. “Yeah but I mean– won’t something like spark between us? Considering that you’re a male sperm and I’m a female sperm–” A snort again. “Am I making sense,” Making sense or not, she found herself still laughing earning a few glances from the people around.
The sound of Kiera’s laughter is taken as a strange sort of victory on Yusuke’s part, any sign of embarrassment long-gone and replaced with a playful, if not somewhat devilish grin. It wasn’t often that someone was willing to oblige his humour; always prone to that of the morbid, dirty, or simply strange and embarrassing, but when they did, it was always encouragement to get a little more out of them. “Stop what--? You don’t like the image of us being a sperm squad together? A gamete gang? Be careful, I could get insulted.” Mirth clearly laces his tone, if not sending his voice shaking with quiet, undefined laughter, calming only just long enough in order to take a sip of his drink; a sip that he comes to regret when the following question comes around, and it takes more effort than Yusuke would like to admit not to end up choking. It takes another moment, rubbing at his chest and aiming a look at his companion that said pretty clearly - did it have to be while my mouth was full? - before coming to stifle the still surprised laughter in the ball of his palm. “You’re making sense, i’ve just never heard of a romance between two sperm before. Or gendered sperm. I assure you, should we come across our, uh... glorious egg, we should be spark-free. Then we’re just gonna have to duel it out, but that’s a worry for another time, right?”

[sms; Yusuke] I could have made a joke, but I’m not going that way. Not today.
[sms; Yusuke] Fine I’ll have mercy.. Only because the more it’s mentioned the more I want ice cream too.
[ txt → zhou mi ] Thanks, I think? Dont’ worry, I can always bring up ice cream another day and you can let it loose then. [ txt → zhou mi ] But you’re the beeeeeeeeeeest-! ㅋㅋ I’ll let you imagine more ego-stroking compliments here at your convenience. I’m so hungry my fingers are losing the will to type. I hope you can make it before it turns into an SOS situation.
[ lostxseouls ]
[sms; Yusuke] I’m good for sass
[sms; Yusuke] And “helping” people dress correctly. So that’s gotta be something, yeah?
[ txt → zhou mi ] Which is great and all, but is sass going to fill your friend’s poor, empty stomach...? [ txt → zhou mi ] You know you want to have mercy, right? [ txt → zhou mi ] I’ll even let you trash my embarrassing high school shirts if you do. Maybe even burn them. Viking funeral.

It always caused a bitter laughter to witness how Eunsoo felt somewhat repulsed by physical affection even if it was the thing a forlorn girl like her craved and needed the most. Managing to plaster a smile atop her lips, she glanced at him, then back at the alcohol. “You bet.” She shot a response, a quick nod of her head accompanied with her pacing towards the balcony, and leaned her folded forearms atop the rail. “Did you honestly think I’d let that fine thing wasted without a little help?” Was she referring to the bottle or Yusuke? Who knew. For all that Eunsoo knew, she was in the worst mood and something must have been able to cheer her up. “Don’t waste time – open it up.”
“Of course not. Never. You’ve got my complete, undying faith, don’t hurt me and suggest otherwise.” As usual his tone is laced with mirth, despite the unspoken sincerity in his words; whilst undying was perhaps an exaggeration, Yusuke was always quick to trust unless given reason not to, and there was always a certain fondness that accompanied someone as strangely endearing as Eunsoo. One trip for glasses later - he didn’t usually bother, normally drinking straight from the bottle like a tramp - finds the male popping open both bottles of soju; one for his oh so generous benefactor and the other for himself, taking a single swig as he hops to sit atop the railing. While it wasn’t often they shared each other’s company, it was at least enough for Yusuke to tell there was a slightly different edge to his companion than usually accustomed to, and more than enough to keep him on as best behaviour as he could manage. There’s a gentle nudge of ankle against her side, unobtrusive and meant only to gain her attention, something warmer in contradiction to the cooler night air. “So -- How much of this are we assisting with today? Goin’ for the whole thing, special occasion?”
[ qaiden ]
Laughter rumbles from deep within his chest, bubbling over and spilling from his lips. It isn’t one that’s completely genuine, it doesn’t reach his eyes, lips pulled far to wide to be natural. The question is amusing, and it does pique his interest, at what the other male has to say. “Well not at this instance of course. More of… Hm, a sweet old ahjumma on screen that’s pretty high profile, pretty well loved. One that closes her compact, packs up her sweet little purse at the end of every day of filming— oh not forgetting the smile she has plasters on her face as she greets the rest of the actors and crew members— but in lies a dark, dark secret.” The atmosphere is growing far to tense for his liking, and he emphasises the word ‘dark’ in almost a comical way to divert Yusuke’s attention away from the similarities that this ‘hypothetical’ scenario has with himself. “And this dark secret involves killing people, y’know? Like the ones she sees her co-actors act out everyday at work, except the fake blood’s real and hollywood science doesn’t apply to trying to get rid of a real life decaying corpse.” Arms fold over his chest as he averts his gaze from the blur of action happening on the television screen, looking over at the other instead, a curious expression gracing his features. “In this hypothetical situation it’s far more complicated than that. People don’t know that this sweet, cute ahjumma act is all a facade, and people still continue to love her unconditionally— Probably because she’s that sweet and cute. The ones who know of the murder– well they don’t know it’s her doing– but some feel that justice has been served. That somehow a nameless vigilante is taking the initiative in punishing those who have gotten it too easy.” It’s hard to keep the edge out of his voice at this, but he manages. “Do you think it’s alright for the ahjumma to continue?”
Listening to Aiden elaborate on their hypothetical situation suddenly makes Yusuke feel as though he’s younger, caught up in listening to an intense story that he was growing increasingly eager to hear the conclusion to. If he were actually any younger it was almost certain that he would have asked the male to continue, the tale holding just enough of a gruesome, morbid tone to it to keep him easily enraptured, always so quickly captured by the darker nuances of human nature. But as it is - even if it takes a short moment for Yusuke to realise there was a question in there, somewhere - he refrains from doing so, lips pursing instead as he contemplates until finally meeting his companion’s gaze. “So in the end she’s not a sweet ahjumma, but a kind of double agent? I... It probably depends upon her nature outside of the facade. I mean-- I know that sounds irrelevant in the grand scheme of things when she’s killing people and all, but if she enjoys the actual murdering side of it all wouldn’t that make her just as bad as the criminals themselves? There’s justice - and then there’s taking desperate measures to fulfil darker urges, isn’t there? Hm...” He knows that he hasn’t answered the question, not entirely, but as was part of his job his mind is automatically racing to think of all the different variables to consider. Even for a hypothetical situation, morality was a delicate thing; even fickle - and when it came to something like murder or ‘justice’, it only seemed to amplify. Still, Yusuke knows that the question is probably taken more seriously than it probably should have been in such a social situation; a quiet chuckle soon to follow as he continues. “You probably wanted a yes/no answer rather than a hundred more questions, huh? Nah, I think... there’s a lot of things that would make it okay for her to continue, just as many as there would be for her to stop. So long as she’s careful that she’s not becoming one of the very people she’s hunting... As much as she’s certain that they are all guilty, what with mistrials being a thing to worry about, ‘n then there’s... How she goes about it? If she’s - what’s the word - dismembering them..? And keeping parts as trophies, that’s -- That’s really not okay. There’s a problem there. I don’t know, I think i’m open to her being alright to continue, in the right circumstances?”
