Buying the digital art pack Is worth it, I promise.
is your username a reference to 4t0/zazanation ? <- not part of zazanation <- barely knows about them but theyre like nazis unironically or something? so when i saw your user i got scared uhh search ‘4t0’ or ‘zazanation’ on here for more info
Oh my God no I didn't know this was a thing??? I literally was just thinking of the game name and was trying to see if I could snatch a username related to it before someone else did haha. Uhhh,, maybe I'll change it soon... :(
But for clarification, I am a communist haha, very much not at all a right-winger
I hope soon to write fanfic for Z.A.T.O. Unfortunately, I am very busy lately. After Christmas I still have plans, but I will try then.
anyway asya is so moral ocd coded to me
I saw the ship in your bio and I'm really curious about it (positive), so I shall be evil and ask you about it. I'm not sure what to ask though so.. uuh. Smiles 😃
Hi!!! Yes, the ship AsDim is my pride and joy haha. I started shipping them within the two days I played/finished the game, first week of release.
If you weren't aware or couldn't guess, the ship is between Asya and Vadim. I almost called it ShuRin but thought it sounded too plain and like it would already be a popular ship from another fandom or two, so I didn't want any confusion. Though it still works as an alternative!
To be honest, my view on them and their relationship is almost (if not entirely) separated from canon. Though I think it's possible for Vadim to have a crush on Asya in canon, I do not think she would realistically like him back nor willingly start a relationship with him (without peer pressure from someone else or her own thoughts if such a situation occurred). She's just too into Ira that I have a very hard time thinking of her as liking another haha.
But in my headcanons, the two of them are actually friends and get along. It's not like I want them to have a toxic relationship or such. I like to think after Vadim, Marina and Asya all became more "friendly" with each other, he would start being kinder to her since they connected more ^_^. I like the idea of Vadim not knowing he has a crush on her until wayyyyyy later haha, I think he's the type of guy to be "that was cute" -> "wait what why did I think that". I remember when in the game that Vadim interrupted Asya and Marinas cafe hangout and Asya mentioning something about there not being a way for him to see her unless he was intentionally looking? I was like ooohhhh man he's got it bad,,,,.
Haha but I don't really talk about Asya often and how I think she would like him, if she did. I don't think she would like him first, or more than he would like her. But if Vadim suddenly switched up his behavior and started being sweeter to her, I think it would make her feel really,, well, confused of course, but very flattered too. And I think she would be very happy to see him changing, not to mention having a person who seems to genuinely care for her. I could only see her having a crush on him after that change. If Ira didn't exist at all in canon, I would feel much more inclined to believe she could be romantically interested in him. But to me, it makes more sense (from a canon standpoint) to their situation if it's a one-sided crush for Vadim. Though,,,, daydreaming about them going on dates is very cute to me. Maybe if he's nice enough, Asya will give him a lil kiss on the cheek.
My little bugs
wafl : )
Hello I'm back, I still think Vadim has a crush on Asya
The more I played Z.A.T.O. the more I thought of how the characters share similar or express symptoms of PTSD (especially dissociation). I think it's really interesting to acknowledge. I can't say I think the characters all have PTSD because I wouldn't be able to link it back to a "realistic" cause. But if I think purely on how they think, speak and simply react to their surroundings, it feels like it's screaming in my face.
(Spoilers ahead, in which it turns into me diagnosing them haha, whoops.)
Russian Name Guide (for Z.A.T.O.)
Z.A.T.O. character names used below the cut.
First we will go over some basics!
Russian names consists of three parts; the first name, the patronymic and the surname. A patronymic refers to the characters fathers name with applied suffixes when the fathers name is passed down onto said character. I promise this will be the easiest part to learn...
Example; Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky. (Russian: Федор Михайлович Достоевский).
As Russian is a very gendered language, I do not believe there are "official" ways to use gender neutrality in this case. So I will list gendered terms for the sake of simplicity. The suffixes added to create a patronymic are dependent on two things; gender and consonants/vowels.
For male characters -- If the fathers name ends in a hard consonant (except ж, ш, ч, щ, ц), their middle name will end in -ovich (Russian: -ович). -- If the fathers name ends in a soft consonant (or ж, ш, ч, щ, ц), their middle name will end in -evich (Russian: -евич). -- If the fathers name ends in a vowel and consists of two syllables, their name will end in -ich (Russian: -ич).
For female characters -- If the fathers name ends in a hard consonant (except ж, ш, ч, щ, ц), their middle name will end in -ovna (Russian: -овна). -- If the fathers name ends in a soft consonant (or ж, ш, ч, щ, ц), their middle name will end in -evna (Russian: -евна). If the fathers name ends in a vowel and consists of two syllables, their name will end in -inichna (Russian: -инична).
We'll go over a few more examples for extra understanding! :)
Alexander - Alexandrovich (if male), Alexandrovna (if female). Ilya - Ilyich (if male), Ilyinichna (if female). Igor - Igorevich (if male), Igorevna (if female).
While I first played, I remember thinking that when towards the end/during Vadims character development, he must have had a crush on Asya because of his sudden "softness" towards her. I think it's sweet to think of an AU where everyone gets along well and nothing bad ever happens.
Made this account so I could get my Z.A.T.O. brainworms out there, haha.
Small spoilers ahead btw. I try not to go too in depth but this counts as character analysis... I think.
Anyways, I don't think Vadim is a bad guy. I think he's a troubled teenager who is among the wrong crowd and doesn't know better (to some degree). I think he can be sweet and nice, at least as nice as he can physically manage, like seen with Marina. He shows genuine concern over Asya at times (notably at the movie theatre) and it makes me believe there's more to him, more that I wish we got to explore better in the game.
When he's with his friends, he's an asshole, of course. But his friends encourage it. When he's around Marina (+ alone with Asya honestly because he doesn't seem to get mad at her or react in a shocking manner beyond when he thinks she's toying with him/looking down on him.) He doesn't seem to go out of his way as much to be mean. It feels to me like that state of asshole-ness is something he needs to remind himself of when he's not already being reminded of it (by his friends).
I think he, as a teenage boy, thinks like a teenage boy; Is afraid of how he is/could be perceived by others and tries to appear tough or stronger than he might be in fear of being made fun of, or something similar. I can't be certain of the reason why, but it makes sense to me when I think about his family and the conditions they're supposedly in and how he might fear being viewed the same way, as someone crazy and wrong in the head or pathetic and worth looking down upon.
But those are just my thoughts.
