all these networks are pulling their content from mainstream streaming services (Netflix, prime video, Hulu) and Hulu is pulling its app from blu ray players and services like Netflix are trying to add commercials to create more revenue and it’s like

we’re just going back to cable. we’re just going back to the circumstances that led to Netflix being created. and people are going to feel less and less bad about pirating because no one wants to pay for five million streaming services that don’t even necessarily protect you from ads

Absolute greed on main too. It’s not like these companies don’t already make a shit ton of profit. But it’s never enough, is it? Because the definition of success in our capitalist hellscape is a never ending increase in profit margin. If a company just maintains the same heinously unethical profit margin for a few years, you get econ hacks at Forbes or whatever writing pieces about how the company is “failing”.

Seriously though, global warming, water shortages, and the like aren't going to be solved by paper straws and taking shorter showers. You must make the corporations, the military, that poison and destroy the earth far more than any of us do change their ways (read: abolish). Without this step, all ways to help the earth are superficial.
