Eve nodded. She knew what it was like to not really work with other people much. Most everything she did went straight to the band, which was how she liked it. She did, however, want to expand her horizons and work with others. “Well, I have a few ideas?” She smiled, pulling out her small notepad from her purse. “You might have trouble reading it, I don’t have the best handwriting.” She flipped to the page that had ZAN scribbled at the top with a few bullets. “Obviously, a love song, that’s how every song goes these days. A song about girl power, of course. Those are very on brand for us.” She teased with a smile. “The one I don’t think you’d be interested in, which is totally fine, it’s a more of a rock influenced song?”
zan was beaming as she read through the scribbled notes on the pad the redhead handed her. at least someone in this collab had some ideas. “ like.. like a love song between the two of us ?? ” it was a thought zan never really considered. she barely knew her own sexuality, let alone eve’s. “ oh. i’ve -- never done something like that before. ” zan was very comfortable in her niche she had developed with ethereal. however, she didn’t want to shoot down any of eve’s ideas just yet, since she was bringing more to the table than zan was. “ we can keep that idea in our back pocket, if you want. what would the rock one even be about ?? ”
ROXY: yeah that'd be pretty funny. then i could pulla a post malone and be like "that's not... fuck it, nice to meet you too."
ROXY: i've never met post malone but he seems like a really lax dude i could vibe with
ZAN: exactly!!
ZAN: he does seem chill. would love for ethereal to do a collab with him some day. can you imagine??

“She didn’t tell me anything except that she bought a farm.” Arden said with a shrug of his shoulders. “I tried calling her and she didn’t pick up…” a hand ran through his hair as he sighed. “If there’s animals, she’s going to end up killing them, or getting them all sick, or…” Arden rambled, with a shake of his head.
zan couldn’t help but frown out of sympathy for the other. although she didn’t exactly know the feeling, she didn’t like seeing people unhappy. or anxious. “ well then i suppose you tried everything you could. ” she gave him a grin and rested a hand on his shoulder, trying to comfort arden.

“I think my mom’s having a mid life crisis or something,” Arden said to the person who was sitting across from him. “She texted me saying that she got a farm, a fucking farm.” His eyes widened as he shook his head. “She can barley keep plant’s alive, how is she going to be able to sustain a full farm?”
zan listening intently, trying to find any sort of loophole to what sounded like a ridiculous plan on his mother’s part. “ did she say there were going to be actual ANIMALS on this farm ?? ” zan asked after a moment, giving the woman the benefit of the doubt. “ because maybe it’s just a large spread of land in the middle of nowhere or something. ”

Eve wouldn’t deny that she liked Zan’s group and music. She’d easily give them a listen on a good day. She was a bit nervous to meet Zan, but she hid it with a boost of confidence. She spotted her across the way and tucked her hair behind her ear before going over. “I am, I am.” She grinned. “It’s good to finally meet you, Zan.” She extended a hand.
zan breathed a sigh of relief, seeing that eve wasn’t as intimidating as she was expecting. she returned the other’s smile, shaking her hand. “ i’m so excited to get started. i don’t get to work with people that aren’t in ethereal too often. ” sure, her and the girls had done collabs before, but it was mostly just for recording purposes, never the whole process. “ so -- did you have any ideas on what you wanted the song to be about or sound like or -- anything ?? ”

admittedly, zan didn’t know too much about eve, or cherry soda, for that matter. she knew that the band was as new, if not newer, that she was to the industry, but that was about it. she waited patiently for the other at the bar of some place zan had never been to, but told eve she would be at. a wave of anxiousness and excitement came over her when the redhead sat beside her at the bar. “ you must be eve, ” zan beamed at the other, unsure of whether she should go for a hug, handshake, or nothing at all. she opted for the latter. “ i’m zan. ”

“the caveman one was so funny!” andrea said with a laugh, remembering the meme. “it’s also like so nostalgic because i grew up with spongebob when it was actually good, ya know?”
“ yeah, me too. ” zan replied solemnly, taking a sip out of her coffee cup. “ it’s sad that, like, my nieces and nephews won’t have good episodes like that anymore. and not just spongebob, but, like, --- anything. ”

“ spongebob memes are so amazing, ” andrea mused. “ like they’re so versatile, you know ? one spongebob meme is about freaking out about something and another is about being exhausted after doing a small task. the possibilities are just endless. ”
“ you’re so right. ” it wasn’t often zan found someone in hollywood who had shared her passion for memes. in fact, zan hardly ever had time to even look at new memes with how busy her and the rest of the girls were. “ do you remember the caveman one ?? that was my favorite. ”

“i don’t think anything could look bad on you if i’m being honest.” bella replied, arms crossed as she looked over the ensemble. “i guess the question if whether or not you feel comfortable in it or it fits your personal style because people can totally tell when it isn’t the case. you’ll be at some event and then the photos come out later and just look a little awkward. you have to feel good to look good a lot of the time.” the blonde explained though she wasn’t sure if that was something that only she experienced. it had taken so long for her to get used to dressing up the way she was required to now and eventually she figured out that she looked her best in something that made her feel beautiful first and foremost.
zan mulled over bella’s words, nodding as she thought it over. it did make sense, but zan was never comfortable in anything other than jeans or sweatpants. dresses weren’t her forte. “ i guess you’re right. ” she continued to look at herself from different angles, still unsure of how she felt about the piece. “ i guess if it takes me this long to decide if i like it -- i don’t really like it, huh ?? ”

Harvey sighed as he pulled in zan tight to his chest, her head tucked snugly under his chin. she knew how to make him feel instantly better, despite the permanent damage to his bike. “zan, i just shelled out like, eighteen grand for this thing,” he laughed in disbelief: she did have a knack for enabling him, though … it wasn’t like he was tight on money. “buying a new one does sound enticing. but god, would that make me one of those entitled assholes though? i’ve got a reputation to uphold.”
“ it’s not entitled if you’re getting a new one because the other one is unusable. ” zan pointed out, but she did see his side of the argument. “ but if it means that much to you, i’ll go halfsies with you. you do ten grand and i do eight. so you don’t look as entitled. ” zan giggled, but she was completely serious about the offer. “ but you’ll have to teach me how to ride it and drive it and stuff. ”

babes could only roll her eyes and shake her head at zan’s response. “i’ll be here waiting.” she announced as she head on the wall and pulled out her phone. she couldn’t stop thinking about zan’s response though, it bothered her. babes had always been proud of her body. from her stripping days to now, it helped her to get to where she was. maybe she didn’t fully understand where zan was coming from. “hey, zan, why are you so hard on yourself ?” she asked, despite the fact that she was changing. she really wanted to know.
the question causes zan to pause, making her glad she was in a changing room where babes couldn’t see her. it was a fair question, and, admittedly, it was a question zan didn’t entirely know the answer to. “ uh, idunno.. ” suddenly she’s having flashbacks to being teased in grade school for being taller than all the boys in class. after that, zan tried to keep her head down and not cause much of a fuss until she left home to pursue ethereal. even now, designers, critics, managers, publicists and trainers were telling zan how she should look and what she should wear and how she should walk talk and act. “ i guess because everyone else is.. ” the words are mumbled, but she hopes babes heard it. she really doesn’t feel like repeating it.

babes noticed the difference in the taller girl as she complimented her, and knew that all of this wasn’t something she was use to. “girl, you’re hot.” she told her. it wasn’t like she was just telling her that to make her feel better about herself. she meant it. if zan built up her confidence just a little bit, babes could see her being the hottest thing in L.A. “i’m telling you can pull it off.” she continued to reassure her as she held the dress. “listen, i know it’s a little revealing but it’s gonna make you feel great. you’re gonna look and feel sexy as fuck.” babes shoved the dress at her and gave a thumbs up. ‘oh, and by the way, you don’t have to have big tits to be sexy. sexiness is a feeling. one that i know you can pull off.”
zan knew babes was right, but feeling sexy was a lot easier said than done. “ thanks. ” it came out a lot more half-hearted than she wanted it to, but especially with how many people were critiquing her body now that zan was in ethereal, she didn’t always feel as good as she would’ve liked to. “ that was really deep. can you put that on a plaque for me ?? ” iit was becoming increasingly clear that humor was one of zan’s favorite coping mechanisms. nevertheless, zan took the dress off the clothing rack, giving babes a thumbs up before going into the changing room once more to try it on.

trying on new clothes was something sofie absolutely loved. especially when they were specially designed for her. there was something satisfying in that, like she really made it in the big league. of course she knew she didn’t even have an album yet and was almost a nobody here in hollywood but, hey, a girl can dream right?
she was going through her phone when she heard a feminine voice and recognized zan, from ethereal (one of her favorite group ever). ‘’oh hey! sorry didn’t see you here. i love it. i wish i had your body, you look so good. really.’’
“ sorry, are you busy ?? ” zan hated being a burden. and interrupting, but upon seeing the other’s expression, zan couldn’t help but smile at the other. “ you really think so ?? ” her grin only got wider as the compliments continued. “ girl, stop. you’re gorgeous, and don’t you forget it. ” and she wasn’t lying. from what she could see, this girl had a body that zan would typically envy.

kailani gave zan a sympathetic smile as she jokingly played the violin for herself. she gave the girl’s arm a small squeeze before saying, “ i feel you. like i like looking nice but sometimes a girl just needs to wear normal clothes. ” she sometimes missed the days when she could just wear whatever she wanted without being judged or anything. “ i’m the queen ? please, girl, you’re too sweet. ” when zan started bowing down to her, she burst out laughing. “ you are TOTALLY worthy. ”
zan placed her hand over her chest in false gratitude, definitely playing up kailani’s compliment. “ wow, that’s the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me. ” she giggled to the other before adjusting her shopping bags on her wrist. “ where were you heading ?? i wanted to go to the cartier store, if you wanted to come with me. ” just talking about the brand made zan excited, which was apparent by the big smile on her face. “ i’ve never been there and i wanted to buy my first bracelet and be like one of the cool kids. ”
