🎃Hello! I’m am surrealist horror artist, my art usually is based on my dreams and some from experience and other times it doesn't have meaning but mostly just me creating characters. I'm physically disabled, my disability is called Spinabifida. I may or may not be active here all the time due to my disability and other medical health conditions. I am recently in the process of creating a horror webcomic called WHAT A DAY. Hello, friends. As a Belfast-based company - and as thinking, feeling people making their lives in this city - we wanted to address the racist violence that has been taking place across NI.

First up, everyone at Monstrous HQ is fine. There was some activity near us but it didn't spread up towards where we actually are. Emotionally, we're… getting through it.

For those of you of a practical bent, here are two charities you can donate to right now who are helping victims of last nights attacks:

The Migrant Centre does ongoing work to support migrants in Belfast and across NI

The important thing to remember in the wake of this kind of outburst is that these people, whatever they may think, do not represent either this city or this country. They are pathetic, power-hungry losers who will stop at nothing to make themselves feel big.

Belfast of today is almost unrecognisable from the city I moved to 15 years ago. It's become a place where diversity is the norm rather than the exception, and while it still has a ways to go, it's made huge strides in reconciling with its past and building something beautiful for the future.

Since last night, I've seen an outpouring of love and kindness from people who know Belfast is better than this - people who love this wee country and are determined to make it a loving, welcoming home for anyone who finds themselves here. We are the majority, and we will not let racist thugs and bullies pretend otherwise.

A 30 year old Sudanese man in Belfast was charged with attempted murder by stabbing and it has unsurprisingly sparked racist riots across the city.

Migrant homes are being set on fire and people are having to be evacuated into emergency accommodation. With the youngest being a 2 month old baby. It doesn’t stop there either, their cars are being set ablaze and migrant owned businesses are being destroyed.

Schools are sending pupils back home because they’re afraid of more violence breaking out.

It’s just…I don’t even have words for it you know. I do hope the victim is able to heal and get justice for what happened to them.

But it doesn’t warrant this.

Why is it when one white person does something wrong it’s only the individual who gets punished. But if the perpetrator happens to be of the global majority then we’re all punished for it.

It’s not all men but somehow it’s all Black people, all immigrants, all Asians etc.

People are being burned out of their homes and for what? No one whose participating in this violence is doing it cause they care about the victim.

They’re just using a tragedy as fuel for their racist bullshit. It fits their narrative so they’re going to go to town and do what they have always wanted to do.

But now suddenly feel they have a pass for.

If you’re BAME in Belfast I hope things will be okay for you. I hope all the violence dies down and you can rebuild what you’ve lost. God I can’t even say stay indoors anymore because that’s not even safe anymore.

Who does this protect? Who feels safe seeing all of this? I guarantee no one does.

If you see any changes in this account that’s me. I want to make this look professional and mature as much as possible. Seeing my account right now including my carrd link looks messy, outdated, disoriented and unprofessional (in my opinion). So I am going to change that, I am only doing this because I feel awful and regretful that I have not used my social media anymore as an artist. These past months I did not felt confident in my work anymore and I felt like I wasn’t improving or getting better, recently I have been in the right headspace to at least go back making art.🫧

Edit: also another reason why I haven’t used my social is due to my physical health, doctors appointments and just mental health reasons. Recovery takes time and I want to use that time to feel and be better.

Sorry for the lack of post, recently I was struggling to figure out finishing my characters and their designs only for me to change them from time to time. Sadly their designs are not yet finished and I went into an art block because of it but I was able to pull through and go with it.
