I’m so fuckin tired of shitty marvel fans saying they dont want more LGBT representation and using shit excuses like “they just shouldn’t rush a character, and shove one in just for the gays, it should be a character that has a chance to be developed” like bitch the whole fuckin avengers are developed and any single one of those fuckers could suddenly be LGBT, because sexual orientation is fluid and itd be nice. No one is really asking for a brand new character, literally just let Steve mention he wants to fuck Bucky or let captain marvel ask Valkyrie on a date and we good.

As a lesbian I really appreciate your sentiment. (I want to preface this by saying I’m only talking about canon stuff here and you can h/c a character as whatever you want and that’s completely fine and valid). However I would personally prefer that the lgbt rep be a canon lgbt character from the comics rather than tacking an orientation on a straight character, because although sexuality doesn’t define a character, it can influence how they act, react, and who they are as a person, making captain america bi doesn’t actually represent lgbt well because it’s not genuine, if he were bi he would have to be written as such and his character would reflect that, but captain america was not intended to be bi so he was written as a straight man. now first they should have kept the scene in Ragnarok where Valkyrie was bi because it adds to the development of her character, she was written to be bi woman and that is prevalent in her character. Marvel recently has acquired the rights to X-men so i would personally like to see gay characters like Iceman and if they do the children’s crusade storyline with the young avengers Wiccan and Hulking. Basically as an lgbt person I want lgbt characters to be written as lgbt instead of their sexuality being treated as an afterthought because like it or not it DOES matter and it DOES impact our lives.
