Lingonberries are ripening in the forest; it looks as though the woods have decked themselves out in red beads.
At first glance, I thought the flower was a carnation, but it turned out to be a poppy. It is the same in life: to understand many things, you have to look closely and figure them out.
Sunday is a holy day, a day of rest, a day for attending church and prayer.
There may be many beautiful places in the world, but for me, the nature of Lithuania is especially beautiful and delightful.
The forest is a temple of nature. Without human interference, everything within it is orderly and beautiful. I love being in the forest; I often pray there and thank the Almighty for this magnificent view.
I’ve noticed that when only cirrus clouds appear in the sky and there are no cumulus clouds at all, bad weather is soon to follow. That is exactly what has happened these past few days: there is a light rain, and it is chilly.
The lake’s distinctive emerald color; it is a place where many small, beautiful fish can be caught with a fishing rod.
Today is July 8th, 12 noon; the air temperature is only 12 degrees Celsius, and there is a light drizzle. This is anomalous weather for mid-summer in Vilnius.
The rue flower (*Ruta graveolens*) is Lithuania's unofficial national flower and a deeply traditional symbol of the nation, representing purity, innocence, and youth. For centuries, it has been an integral part of Lithuanian bachelorette parties, wedding wreaths, and folk songs.
July 6th is a public holiday in Lithuania, celebrated as the Coronation Day of King Mindaugas.
The weather in Lithuania is like a rollercoaster: it was quite chilly for almost the entire month of June. Then came three hot days. And now, on July 4th, it’s only 16 degrees and raining.
On the lawn by the lake, I encountered a green frog that kindly agreed to have its picture taken.
The best place to spend time during the heat is in the shade by a cool little river.
A wave of hot air has moved into Lithuania from Europe. The weather has turned hot—unusually so for June.
