Work: Harvest, 2016 Description: Harvest is a structure that collects rainwater. It is also meant to be a fountain for the Coach Barn. Its constructed language references the farm vernacular, wood trusses, metal roofing and the expression of form following function. It is a site specific work, built and situated particularly for the Coach Barn at Shelburne Farms. It is meant to highlight the axis of the courtyard entry and distant view to Lake Champlain. While it is essentially a roof it was designed to have a strong presence in the space without obstructing views internally of the courtyard. A camera mounted to the structure also provides an live stream access point so viewers can also remotely access a live view of Harvest, the Coach Barn and the farm, particularly when it is raining, on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watchv=7CmEKrfQHkE Materials: Corrugated Metal Roofing, Dimensional Lumber, Dibond, Live Stream Camera and various hardware
Work: Bridge, 2016 Description: Bridge is in Lake Champlain, not at Shelburne Farms. It is a tripod holding a time-lapse camera and a 360 degree camera. The time-lapse camera is recording the surface changes of Lake Champlain over the course of the exhibition recording changes in light, weather and moments of transparency and reflection. The 360 camera is used to create virtual reality footage which will be viewable at BCA during the Of Land and Local Exhibition. The work is meant to explore our collective connection and disconnection to Lake Champlain.
