Each time Michael or Jack mention how dark new blood is i just go ?? i dont know if im just really used to the season or something but i really think they could have delved deeper into the fucked up aspects that got glazed over....
like sex is such a suppressed topic.... why didnt they make kurt a necro? why didnt they dive deeper into Harrison's sexual abuse? the implications that he sells his body for food on the road?

I understand the why- that dexter is a very popular show and the more popular you are the more you bend to your audience and censor topics... but i still yearn for explicit killers that rape till death or after death. its such a huge thing irl and yet there are only like 2 lust killers in the whole show.
i have been viewing the show in a way that killing is either sex or drugs and how sharing killing is the most intimate experience for dexter - sex.
im confused on how they planned on navigating new blood -> OS where they explicitly tell the audience that it is a sexual or at least akin to sex and the last time we saw dexter do that was WITH HIS OWN SON.

like to me tho the writers im not sure if theyre even comfortable with the content they write about? that they seem dexter and harrisons relationship as a healthy father son relationship? that the show being a "father son" show is a healthy way of the writers projection onto what they wish they had? its the same realm as to the writers denying that dexter is autistic and they dont write him that way. do they really beleieve that dexter is a psychopath even tho they debunk that in res 1x10? that they paint is as something you have where you cant feel love and then show us that he can? (time and time again) what are they trying to tell us? is it dexter just having that ingrained opinion of himself after harrys grooming? even tho he never called him one there is implications that he picked up on for who he is... a monster... broken...
the fact that dexter goes through the same arcs and realizations again and again and feeling them in a genuine sense and recognizing that and then the next moment forgetting it is... actually very important to me.

with his kill or not to kill arcs like in s2 s7 and nb are VITAL!!!!!!! VITAL! its not every season. but there is a cycle. where he realizes the harm of his addiction and tries to be sober. that there is a cycle that dexter is going through and is faced with the reality of it.

WHICH HAPPENS!!!! ive been hospitalized and then relapse the moment i leave. HOWEVER!!!! the writers themselves say that dexter is NEEDED AND NEEDS TO DO THIS AND IS A GOOD PERSON FOR DOING THIS. THAT THE WORLD NEEDS HIM. and i just USDFG AHSUFDSJ NO IT DOESNT?????? theyre justifying the purpose for dexter here and i dont like it.
