the trans improv discord has a bot that shouts CHANGE! at random intervals, and everyone has to rotate their pronouns
when u plug a phone into a computer the comupter always charges the phone even if she has less charge than the phone bc the computer thinks that due to her size she always needs to provide for those smaller than her even when it hurts her more than it helps others. btw
just throwing this out there
A comic about cavemen.
quirky fourth wall breaking character but theyre just fucking. wrong about the medium theyre in. they keep making references to cinematic techniques and directorial styles and the other fourth wall breaking character is like "dumbass we're in a fucking comic book" and they are in a video game.
Well currently they’re in a tumblr post but I see your point
This is a perfect time to read the brilliant and unforgettable graphic novel(s) Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi, about growing up in Iran during and after the Iranian Revolution, and the rise of the oppressive theocracy that persists to this day.
Both graphic novels are available free online (Persepolis vol. 1, Persepolis vol. 2)
It also was adapted to a wonderful film (co-directed and co-written by the author) which is available to watch for free on Sundance Now (sign up for the free trial)

okay but chess terminology is like. you pinned your opponent's hung knight and now you can mate? oh im sure
OH I'M SURE
Was driving with my grandmother and in broken English she says “no eyes… no nose… no face. Don’t trust.” To which I looked around wildly in search of this omen of ill portend.
Cybertruck. It was a cybertruck.
also you wanna know something that destroys me. when dahlia said that maya must've thrown herself into the eagle river and committed suicide after she claimed that maya was the one who killed misty fey. and phoenix's first reaction is complete and utter despair. it drives me so insane because he doesn't refute it at all. whereas when dahlia first claimed that maya killed misty his first reaction WAS to refute it instantly. of course maya would never kill anybody! and the question that comes is "well why wouldn't he refute it? surely he doesn't think maya would actually kill herself?" until you remember all the way back in turnabout goodbyes when maya said "i wish i hadn't woken up at all." to nobody but phoenix and then it's like. aw man. aw MAN
RIP Marjane Satrapi, author of the amazing graphic novels Persepolis about living during the fundamentalist revolution in Iran in the 70’s and 80’s. She also created the animated movie based on the graphic novels, which is where these gifs come from.

Reblogging in honor of Marjane Satrapi, one of THE great graphic novelists. Her comic Persepolis was a crucial text for shaping my belief that comics can deeply explore identity, culture, politics, and history.
