Hello! If you like LORE in your Minecraft, then I've got your back. Sort of. This is a little audio drama chapter to set up mine, Kirsty's and Briony's Minecraft stream (tomorrow!). It wasn't going to be nothing special or particularly story-driven, but I couldn't help myself, so... we figured this could work. Hope you enjoy.

Drawings from my sort-of-annual Blackrock rewatch last winter (these are specifically from the first episode!) Additional thoughts under the break.

This little series meant a lot to me as a middle/high schooler, and whenever I rewatch I remember why. It's something about the mix of silliness and seriousness that somehow don't contradict each other. It's something about getting to see these characters' relationships slowly grow and change, and about seeing them at their highest and lowest points. It's something about how this sort of story and tone feels like it couldn't have been told through any other medium, as strange as that is to say.

I'd love to draw more of the series in the future, and especially with some of the iconic scenes/settings/character designs. It felt right to start at the beginning, though.

Thank you to Rythian and Zoey for making such a special series, and thank you to everyone who's still thinking about it and keeping it alive through art, stories, and imaginings for over 12 years now (wow).

There should be a rare stronger variant of blaze called a soul blaze that spawns in nether fortresses and has unique drops. something like a 1/150 chance. so the expression "What in the blue blazes?" can be minecrafty.

This minecraft short comic called "A strange Coast" made by Ian Flynn I believe, I found in a book from my library I work has to be one of the most beautiful and respectful takes on the game.

It understands minecraft so perfectly and doesn't treat it as childishly as the other stories in it did.

And all that within 10 pages and no word spoken.

I think this is my favourite Minecraft skin ever. One of the Beatles members. Like, whoever made this can't even tell them apart, but was still inspired enough to bother making a Minecraft skin and uploading it for anyone to use. No, it's not just any guy in a suit; it's clearly a Beatle. So specific, yet so vague. Love it.
