i genuinely find "non-binary are included in all orientations by default" a weird way of putting things, even if you then say that individual non-binary will not feel comfortable being included in certain orientations and that's fine.

why can't we just say that orientations aren't as rigid as they're made out to be? why can't we just say that orientation and the inclusion of non-binary people is complicated?

I had someone a while ago, before I realized I was non-binary say to me, "you can't be bisexual if you aren't 100% sure your bi, and once you decide that you are you can't change your mind"

and I'm pretty sure they'd either yell at me about it or say nonbinary people don't exist if I told them that, so yeah we might have a bit to go before people accept that the terms we use are ever so slightly gendered and that's kinda a bad thing
