#This will always be my favorite piece of Supernatural fanart.#It is so profound in its understanding of Castiel.#The drink coolers of the gas station being reminiscent of the halls of Heaven has much more meaning to me than many might imagine.#Castiel knows neither are where he belongs.#He knows that as an angel of Heaven #he is different.#He loves.#He is curious.#He begins to ask why.#He does not fit in. So he leaves.#Then after he has been away too long #he loses his angelic power.#He loses his purpose.#His identity.#So he does what he thinks a human would do.#He gets a job.#At this job he doesn't fit in either.#He's awkward.#He's cold.#He's eerie.#Yet he can't just leave like he did with Heaven.#He is stuck.#And in the reflection of the fridges that remind him of the halls kf Heaven...#He sees himself.#Not quite an angel #but definitely not a human.#He sees the changes and he sees that he does not belong.#He sees the prison he has forced himself into.#He longs for a purpose again.#Yet he cannot find it in any aisle.
