Yuko as the Justice devil

Since chapter 146 it was revealed that the fire devil was masquerading itself as the Justice devil supposedly to gain more contracts and boost its power. That explains why the “justice devil” was appearing so frequently in part 2.

However I believe that we actually did meet the real Justice devil in part 2. I think that Yuko was actually in a legitimate contract with the Justice devil and not the fire devil unlike the Asa’s class president and the chainsaw man priest. 

First off Yuko mentions that the Justice devil gave her the ability to read minds, this ability isn’t mentioned by the class president, the priest, or anyone involved with the chainsaw man church so I assume that this only applies to her. I think this fact is the first hint that she is different the other Justice devils.

Secondly the Yuko’s Justice devil design is  different from the other two “Justice devil” designs

Both the class president and the priest have devil designs that show them as amalgamations of the human body. (This might tie to the human need, or the tendency for lots of people to gather around fires.)Yuko’s devil design doesn’t have the same elements and instead has some kind of tentacle thing going on, she has no extra human besides the brain and her face isn’t even shown.

Third, Yuko’s motive for the contract are also different! Yuko has the genuine belief that her actions are the just thing to do. She even mentions explicitly getting Justice for herself and Asa. The priest, class president, and the church followers lack this motive. It seems that they do it out of some type of selfish want not out of the belief of Justice. 

The class president attacks Asa because she wants to be with her teacher, she does it for a selfish reason unlike yuko. (Id like to add that the class presidents actions could be an example the someone wanting to be close to a fire)

The Preist and the church goers also don’t outright express any sentiment of Justice instead they do it because 

Since Yuko’s power, design, and motive aren’t similar to the rest of the Justice devils I do believe that her contract was legitimate and not a false contract with the fire devil.

I believe that the “denji” that killed yuko was a fire devil fiend that killed yuko because she was the legitimate Justice fiend and her existence was a threat to the fire devils plan.

Fire, death, and being human

This chapter was INSANE

my favorite part about chainsaw man is how everything always ties back into the main themes, my favorite one is the act of being human and what makes you human. Denji at the beginning of the series was at rock bottom. You see him grow and basically LEARN how to be a human being. He learns relationships, goals, and wants he is being built from the ground up and i find that beautiful. The issue with Fami and Barem trying to kill the death devil (which they need chainsaw man to do in order to eradicate him) is that the act of death is the most human thing.

Fami wants to take down the death devil and this is in order to stop the devil doomsday. She fears the age of devils will arise causing humans to disappear. But getting rid of death is getting rid of the most human part of being a person. If she kills death do you think this will cause a domino effect and weaken mass amounts of devils?cuz rlly almost every fear allegedly goes down to death. It’s just the primal instinct. The reason abstract concepts cause fear is cuz of how peoples brains have adapted to nowadays and associate the same kinds reaction if that makes sense. just wondering what the consequences of this would be

This also takes us back to Makima. Makima wanted to kill the most powerful devils to create her "perfect world". Not only do i feel like this was in an act to search for that connection that she wanted with poochita (which is a human aspect that she could never obtain) but her perfect world would destroy the “bads”. Yall remember her saying there would be no bad movies? People need the bads to have the goods. And not only that but you can find the beauty in "bad" things just as much as good things.

I think the most jaw dropping thing about this chapter was the MILLIONS OF FUCKING CHAINSAWMAN ZOMBIE PEOPLE. can we talk about how impactful this is going to be on denji? this totally flips the table on makimas plan in part one. She wanted everyone to love csm and weaken him and now everyone is going to be scared shitless.

i also want to take a minute to appreciate how smart and creative the fire devil is???? the irony of the FLAMETHROWER guy using the FIRE devil. I really love that Fujimoto doesnt just make the flame devil have basic fire powers, he expands on what exactly makes fire scary. which is how fast it spreads! like are you kidding me how did this shit get to canada. I find it interesting that it’s through the chainsaw church too it’s like some cult crap spreading like a virus. Not to mention the unpredictability of fire which correlates into why people with contracts and take any form!!!!! SO COOOLLLL also the fact that it was diguised as the justice devil. Which I might talk about another time

Before the next chapter comes out i want to say smth abt the like god references? Its just the church and the past few chapters have seemed very off in that way. they have very breifly mentioned higher beings specifically to justify their actions. this was a long post and more serious but i am so excited to see where the story goes from here w so much potential and inspiration clearly seen in his work. It never fails to blow me away

It really comes down to what type of message he wants the story to end with.

ok i might be a little lost with this one cuz im too focused on Asa but i just wanted to point out how interesting it is that there is a law about making contracts with devils. They haven't really mentioned this before but i think its funny how public safety is the only way you can "legally" make contracts with devils. Im also thinking about the president back in the aki chapters how he had a contract with the gun devil and gave away lives of US citizens 💀where exactly does that fall.

The whole situation right now is just super sketchy the portraying specific things to the media and crap idk public safety is on something rn. Especially since Makima is gone??? who is in charge??? WHO DID THE CHURCH MAKE A CONTRACT WITH

I cannot fucking begin to express the stranglehold Nayuta has on my brain. She's the physical manifestations of humanity's fear of being controlled and has existed since the dawn of humankind. She once committed unspeakable atrocities in pursuit of world domination, but also that wasn't her, but it was the same supernatural being that she is, but she doesn't remember any of it. That person was a jaded adult raised to be a weapon and driven by a profound and unspeakable loneliness. Nayuta has a brother she loves unconditionally. But before her brother was her brother she destroyed everything and everyone he cared about, and he killed and ate her. He loves her unconditionally too. She has a dozen dogs. They're the same dogs she had before. Did she love them before? Does she love them now? She thinks pizza is a good reason to save the world, but not a good enough reason to skip class to do it.
