Dear Megan,
I am writing to you today because I just wanted to say thank you. For what you may be asking yourself? well, allow me to explain. I started with a free book in this trilogy so thank you for that alone. I then migrated to paperback because of… well wow. just wow.
Book one sucked me in, with Julia/jewel of the Sea. You created a character that was not ashamed of what she did. The fact that she found stripping empowering and she has no shame for it just made me squeal rock on. That alone just made me happy, then you added in a dash of crazy okay how about a bucket of crazy and I was hooked.
Cole made this book, he really did. His obsession and his past just made this book. The fact that you went above and beyond with the stalking and that twist at the end. I have to admit usually I figure it out before it happens but in this trilogy, nothing prepared me for who it was.
So I am going to say this, is this trilogy a recommend, hell to the yes it is. I can’t seem to get enough and I wish there was more. I wouldn’t know where you would go with it but Cole and Julia just wow. I am a little shocked the series didn’t go on a little longer. Though I have to admit if it did I would probably have grown bored and then figured everything out before the end and never finished. So you are right for making it as long as you did with three. Even though it broke my heart to watch them go.
The level of the dark was just right. I think there was just enough shock factor. I even thought the sprinkle of OW in this one was perfect. I felt this trilogy was one that was just well rounded. I didn’t get much sleep, I couldn’t. I had to finish, I needed it more than anything. You hooked me right in, I am one of those women who doesn’t have many triggers. Honestly, I have none. The level of obsession that Cole had for Jewel was sweet in its own fucked up way.
Cole was that dark possessive Alpha that I loved so much. The things he went through just to get this woman was so messed up. the fact that Jewel fell for him had my jaw-dropping. This is what I love about fiction. So much was just way out there, I couldn’t imagine someone going through all that but I guess it could happen. It wasn’t too far fetched. Cole and Jewel went through so much that their HEA was so satisfying.
So again I say thank you, Megan, thank you for taking me away to your little world and sharing your characters with me. Thank you for giving me a mystery and allowed me to keep guessing. Thank you for writing it in such a way that I didn’t flip to the end just to see how it ended. Thank you for all of this.
Four stars across the board for me. The only thing I have to say and I said it in book one. It could have been a little longer but that is semantics. I am just being selfish more than anything.
