Ocean Salt by Lush review!
So this is a product I heard great news about, so I gave it a spin. This is the original formula, not the new self-preserving one. I went original because why not?
So I only used it as a face scrub and not a bod scrub (yet), I bought the smallest container because i’m a broke college student. Using it on my body would seem a little extra. When I tested it on my hands at the store location, I fell in love with the after effects. But on my face, I was a little dissapointed.
First off it was very coarse and rough on the skin. I understand it has both fine and grainy bits of sea salt, but I felt like I was rubbing sandpaper onto my forehead. Extreme exfoaliating? Probably. Enjoyable? At least to me, not really. I could have just had a heavy hand and if I lighten my scrubs then it could probably be okay.
Second off, the smell was not my thing. I don’t know what exactly about it puts me off, but it isn’t my thing. Since it was so close to my nose, it intensified the experience by a little much.
But, it did exfoliate nicely. I have a skin sympotom (psoralisis or eczema or something, I can’t remember what exactly it is but my doctor said it was something about non-contagious fungus), which gives me kinda patchy, scaly dry skin. This did wonders on it. When I got out of the shower, no more weird, red patches lining my face!
One final thing is that I didn’t really notice the moisturizing and smoothing effects that I noticed immediately when I had it on my hands. It was wonderful on my hands. But my face was a little disappointing. It could be that since I was still in the shower for a bit longer, the extra water washed all the goods things right off, but a little disappointed in that.
Overall, I like the product. Not so much love it. It’s very harsh and the Lush employee told me that it shouldn’t be used every day, so I do see this product last me a long time. A little goes a long way, as well, which gives more value to your dollar.
