okay so real talk because this story prob won’t fit in the tags: when i stopped dating girls and started dating boys i used to be mad self-conscious about my height because that always mattered as a negative for girls. so when a tall handsome guy would come up to me in any scenario i would immediately try to set them up with a friend i found “more deserving” of someone like that.

my logic would be that the girls i knew would all think this guy is hot, and since i never did well with them myself, i probably shouldn’t try anything with him.

anyway, years later fate was kind enough to let me talk with two guys i did this to in the past in separate occasions and ALL THIS TIME they were under the impression that i BLEW THEM OFF. and when i was like I didn’t even consider you were trying! they were like ‘I CAME UP TO YOU FIRST BECAUSE I WAS VERY INTERESTED IN YOU SPECIFICALLY!!’

so yeah, moral of the story: you’ve been hot all along, don’t miss out on life.

It also tries to overturn artists, programmers, musicians, and sometimes even scientists, it also tries to lie to the public by posing as other people, it's known to be used in commiting crimes, and on top of that, it hasn't increased the economy by anywhere near enough to compensate for the massive security risks, the outlandish upkeep, and the amount of startups that failed within a couple of months.

Convenient? Maybe. But so was plastic, and I think we all know how that's been going.

The thing is, google in the late 90s could answer questions more accurately. (You sometimes had to click through 3 of the first ten websites) But you were left with not just the answer but the surrounding context if you needed it, and often an organisation you could hold accountable for the answer's correctness.

as incredible as this is it comes with a few caveats. Ireland still has contracts with Israeli weapons manufacturers, and when they announced divestment from Israeli assets in April of 2024, they divested from 6 out of the 11 companies they have shares in. i do not doubt the irish people's support for palestine, but we MUST be critical of any western government who claims to support palestine, and we need to do our due diligence.
