i feel like one of the core concepts of Fallout is intended to be "No matter what you think the perfect system of running a society is, it WILL fail. Catastrophically at that. Because you can't plan for everything."
But for some reason most of the discourse seems to be on the "corporations are bad" front
and like, yeah, that is definitely a point
but it is kinda like if the discussion on LOTR was about how Sauron is the bad guy and that is it. No other villains or bad guys exist. No one else gets in the way of the story.

Honestly everything in ATLA is about gender. Some of this was intentional on the writer's part and some of it was unintentional, but it's all about gender. And the number one mistake fans make when they try to interpret the show is that they ignore gender.
I think saying all of it is a stretch. Sure it is impactful and useful for many reasons, such as the timeframe and it's cultural effects to use one example. See fire nation versus everyone else women roles.
The obvious example, in my mind, of the gender aspect is the airbender genocide. It wasn't done because they, or aang, were seen as more effeminate or anything of that sort. It was simple, Machiavellian actions, though he would disapprove I think. They had the avatar who would be a child at the time. They can resist the war. Therefore kill them all to both prevent them and to wipe out the avatar. He/She will return in time, but it'll be pushed back even more.
This then plays into the southern water tribe bender cultural and later on killing genocide. The avatar would be a waterbender. Pin them down and lock them up and you've won. They try this on Aang in fact before someone, cough cough zuko, break in. Interestingly, this also shows a more Machiavellian empire versus an evil one. One committed genocide and so made themselves hated. The other did swift cruelty but stopped once they had the benders (as they only returned when rumors spread if the dialogue is any indication). They made themselves feared, but also not hated. Not hated in the sense that they would've returned the benders unharmed once they won, before Hama of course.
Of course, if you can show these through a gender lense I would be happy to see it and head it out. As you have a history of great posts.

Bit of a deaf and half blind situation, no?
I wish there was a proper save button/tab
anyone else?
Sure you have likes, private reposts, etc, but it would be nice to have an easily managed saved tab so you don't have to scroll or use favorite tabs. Especially as scrolling becomes harder with time and more likes and or posts.
There are 2 different playable Azula that we can play in Atla's new fighting game šš

You've done a great job capturing the "evil Godzilla" look in this art
Things like Sims eugenics and creating ghettos in Animal Crossing will always be more horrifying than 90% of the attrocities committed in games like Rimworld and Stellaris for the simple reason that they were never intended by the developers
Games like Rimworld and Stellaris have dedicated mechanics created to facilitate crimes against sapient life, but the developers of the Sims never expected that people would start selective breeding programs and lock their ugliest children in the basement art sweatshop
War Crime Simulators give you the horrors, but with these games, you had to look at the tools given to you and construct the horrors yourself
he's literally nice ā¹ļøā¹ļøā¹ļø
Itās really interesting that every argument made to justify locking up Azula post-canon can be applied to Book 2 Zuko:
Aggressive, violent? Yes.
Danger to those around him? Yes.
Danger to himself? He literally tried to get himself struck by lightning.
Criminal? Yes, in the eyes of both the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom.
Danger to legitimate governments? Yes, as a matter of fact heāll end up being involved in overthrowing the governments of both the Earth Kingdom and the Fire Nation within the next six months.
Threat to Team Avatar? You bet it!
Loyal to an evil father? Yes.
Untrustworthy? Book 2 Zuko is notoriously fickle in his allegiances. He even betrays Iroh!
Mentally unwell? Hell yes.
Iām not saying that Book 2 Zuko should have been locked up, but it is notable that story did not view ālocking up Zukoā as a solution to the āproblemā Zuko posed nor think that locking him up and controlling him would lead to his redemption.

Something I always find really fascinating about like...any fantasy story or fanfiction which is at least somewhat historical (like basically anything pre-19th century) ā is how OFTEN people talk about clothes not fitting by a little bit and therefore needing to buy completely new clothes that fit.
Stories will tell us: "oh they lost/gained a little weight and need to buy new clothes." Or in the same vein, "she just found out she was pregnant and didn't want people to know just yet so she bought new clothes." Or "suddenly none of his clothes fit so he had to buy all new ones." Or "they grew taller so they needed new clothes."
And it's like. Oh! Okay! So you don't know how clothing works before the invention of sewing machines. Like. At all! You don't know what large seam allowances or like, fasten/wrap to fit clothing looks like. You are not aware of like, loom width measurements being a factor here.
No one is going around buying brand new clothes simply because they grew an inch somewhere when everything they own can be taken out at the seams first, extended or modified with extra fabric second, and possibly even just tied less tightly as a third because the clothing style is actually just "giant rectangles with ties or belts."
