Baatar being as capable of other scientist but having less morals means more brainwashing and mecha.

  𝓢okka looked down to the young boy. Of course, he would be more than happy to answer any of the questions that he had- within reason, naturally. As a curious man himself, what better way to share knowledge? Especially with the new generation of warriors that would grace the world. ❝Please, if you like, you can call me Uncle Sokka.❞ He remarked proudly. The team he and his sister started together with Aang when they were children quickly became found family, and Toph is part of that family- so he wouldn't oppose if her kids, and now grandkids, called him Uncle*. Regardless if they wanted to or not, he would still spoil them as if they were blood. ❝—What's on your mind?❞

Sokka is one of the remaining greatest non bender from team avatar. The one who made every plan that sparked into brilliance when looked on from the future. the one that people were still surprise to see existed to begin with.

I think that if Baatar suddenly lost half his face he would be slightly happier knowing no one would ever think of his father when they see him.

  𝓖etting to finally meet Toph's grandchildren was a blessing. The elder water tribe Chief made himself a point to introduce himself to the next generation, hoping that one day- no. Knowing that one day they would grow up to be strong members of the Beifong clan, just like their Grandmother. The two boys, Baatar Jr. And Huan were young children, the eldest not showing signs of bending, and the younger too young to show signs of it. As he got himself settled into the sitting room, he was given introductions by Su Yin and Baatar between the boys and Sokka. To which, Sokka bowed toward them all. ❝It's great to finally be here and to see all of you.❞

As the eldest of Suyin, despite his..lack of many things, especially any similar appearance to Toph, he was dressed to the nines. Metal collars, green clothes. Everything that just screams look at me i'm a Beifong.

Despite that, he's still just 5 years old, being only two year difference between each child at best.

"It is nice to m....m...meet you Mister Sokka. My name is...Baatar...Jr."

He shakes a bit, feeling like he wants to hide behind his mother skirt.

It was a mess of introductions since the twins couldn't exactly talk yet and his mom brought in the fancy finger food on metal plates. It was only after introduction did Baatar tugged on Sokka pants, not being tall enough to reach his waist yet despite the other man age.

"Mister...Sokka, I have a question."

  ❝𝓘 don't know how well that will work since most of the city knows your face- knows all of our faces. We come from a notable family...❞ Opal paused for a brief moment, thinking her brother's idea over quickly. ❝You can give it a try, but it might be tricky.❞

"I can cut my hair and discard the Beifong Name." It was easy enough to do so. though his connection to his father did give him pause, it ... was stiffling in this place. feeling like a failure because he couldn't understand the earth.

"Besides, I hardly look like a Beifong do I? I don't have grandma Toph face at all."

"its not like mom would ever let me forget it."

"Funny." Kuvira's delivery as the wine surely would be, but she shook her head, "I'm trying to avoid wasting away by day-drinking, though. I enjoy the lofty excuse of waiting until free people are at least done with the drudgery of their pretenses, before numbing my existence."

Baatar if he could hear her thoughts would have argued that the fire nation did a hard turn after the 100 year war. So hard that they turned isolated for a few good decades to recover. It wasn't anyone fault but the person themselves, that attributed fire nation to its past.

If they did, the earth kingdom would have done a bit more revision. their history , the brief empire that killed so many airbenders as well...

"Yeah, funny."

His motions were practice, and mostly bored as he headed back to the table full of blueprints.

"Did Lady Beifong [distance] call you again to deal with another former follower?"

Mother's day was complex for the both of them. Kuvira on two fronts, if you counted Suyin as a mother to her, which depending on the day and tone, she did. Unfortunately, mother's day was just the sort of negative tone in which she did count.

"It is." She agreed with a cool tone to her ex-fiancé, staring out the window to the countryside. "I don't plan to do anything for it."

"...Same."

Staring out the window like the depressed people , alas there was a lot of things to do. but the mention of a whole day for Suyin kind of ruined the vibe a bit.

"I have some fire nation wine if you want."

He's not even going to go out for all that.

Staring at the window for a long, long while. It's been on his mind for a moment.

"Its mother day." as if Suyin ever did anything to warrant him, especially to her he's just a extra shadow of the family most of the time. mostly focus on the earth benders of the family.
