So, I know people stan Morga real hard on Tumblr, but... can we talk about the implications of this chapter? Because Iām feeling like despite being a woman, Morgaās got a real hard ātoxic masculinityā vibe going for her. I get that their culture is different from ours, but looking at this with a modern lens:
- She speaks of repeatedly saving her son and that being a bad thing, going as far as to say she should have let him die rather than save him again. Again, this is while he was a child.
- Her only favorable comments towards the PC (that I have seen, even in the other routes) are when they express a willingness for action or are generally confrontational.
- Says that if Lucio had killed his father in honorable combat she would have approved.
- Views the whole situation as her fault for ācoddling himā, giving Lucio no agency as a person whatsoever.
And despite that... Lucioās here in the snow, crying, convinced no one would save him. He constantly seeks affection and praise, making it a reasonable assumption that thatās something thatās been lacking from key figures in his background. He views this as āloveā, again, leading to a conclusion that real love, unconditional love... isnāt something heās experienced.
And throughout it all, Morga is here, ready to kill him, convinced heās this way because she loved him too much.
I love Morga as a character, but I donāt even know where to start with that.
Lucioās got some issues. Donāt get me wrong, the man is a selfish, attention-whoring, whiny brat sometimes. But, I have to say... Iām starting to get why.
