Thought bubble but for Hazbin Hotel
Was watching a video that went over the problems of Hazbin Hotel and something just clicked in my mind that I feel could be incorporated to either raise tension between up there and down there or just even as nice little detail
But, I feel like Charlie’s hotel shouldn’t be as empty as it is because there are most defiantly people in the down south who feel as if they are wrongfully there, and would see Charlie’s commercial and go there because they believe they are entitled to being up north.
It mainly stems from the song Charlie’s Inferno by That Handsome Devil, and where some dissect the reason Charlie (the MC of the song) is booted to down south is because despite doing everything “correct” he did it out of pure selfishness. He did it not because he wanted to out of the goodness of his heart but because he knew it was a way into the pearly golden gates. His selfishness disguised as good acts.
And there are definitely people who live that way, doing things the “correct” way to ensure they are accepted into the “better” afterlife (and I use quotations on better because a better afterlife is subjective depending on who you are and what you believe in). So… why aren’t they present in Hazbin Hotel, in Charlie’s hotel where the goal is to send the sinners up above? I feel like those people, the ones that believe they were wrongfully convicted, would be the first at Charlie’s hotel because they want in.
Now imagine a group do them being there, background characters or whatever. They get some screen time but it’s always shown they aren’t really putting effort into being redeemed, most of their time spent talking to one another about how they deserve better and that they can’t wait to be accepted into their “rightful” home. Little bits here and there of this group or characters.
Imagine Charlie having to break the news that not even the angels know how to reach their side. That they don’t even know the requirements it takes to become an angel and live the life above their own.
Imagine the riot this group would have, anger at Charlie because her hotel is obviously a scam and then anger to above and all those that reside there because what do you mean they spent their entire life following the words of some higher being, being denied their “rightful” life after death and learning that everything they did might have been for naught?
They storm out the hotel, cursing and screaming at everything and everyone. Tensions rise and when the exterminations arrives more angels die than demons because this group, of believes who feel they were cheated one and learn to have been cheated all over again, has gathered more like them— people who were once angry but licked their wounds only to have them reopened after so much time had passed —to fight the angels because how dare they be accepted and not them.
Ugh! Just tension rising between the two sides as a third party invites itself with vengeance because they feel cheated out of life and afterlife.
