There’s something very special about when girls (or anyone) get(s) together to paint nails. No one is ever stingy about sharing colors. Everyone has a nail polish collection and there’s always the greatest satisfaction that comes out of sporting a new look. I’m sure it’s not just a thing for me but a thing for lots of my fellow feminine beings to have nail parties. it’s a whole process that is cherished by many. it’s an essential time to bond with one another, as within female-folk groups, talk is the glue. i think painting each other’s nails gives us a sense of companionship, necessary when we’re humans who crave being able to put our trust in other people. getting together over painting nails isn’t just about have cute fingers, but communicating with one another on various levels (while being very careful not to FUCK the paint up, y’all know how stressful that can be…). it’s a time full of coding among each other, we even seem to know how to communicate with little no words at all. nonetheless, it’s all in the act of painting nails. I put out a public request for people to send me photos of their hands in the name of every sacred moment they’ve spent with someone else over painting nails. This was the result of the help from those closest to me, many of whom i have had nail parties with myself. Not to mention, i love the timelessness/endlessness of gifs that sparkle, so i made that the subject point of each piece. I also chose a rainbow pallet to suit the theme of all the colors you have to choose from when painting your nails.
