23. Ace. I'll just reblog whatever. I don't tag things much. If there's something specific you want tagged, tell me and I'll try to remember to tag it. Have a question? Just ask. Icon by prapierons-world.tumblr.com
Heya, i know i basically only reblog, but in case you're wondering where i'm at i (a) have a FUCK ton of uni work bc it's my last semester, and (b) i literally CANNOT DEAL with the ne dash it make s me wanna throw up <3. that is not hyperbole i genuinely mean looking at it makes me gag i think it's something to do with the way the light interacts since it also literally makes my eyes water.
Me as a kid rubbing my fingers across the screen of my gba to pet my lv 67 Mightyena so it won't faint this turn & attack through confusion to finally beat the E4 having no knowledge of type matchups or proper teambuilding but relying solely on the power of love & friendship (&RNG) to win
Ok, I NEED you to understand just how insane even ATTEMPTING this was for them.
1. Playing an instrument is difficult. Doing so in sync with others even more so. Don’t think I’m stepping on any toes saying that.
2. Dancing is difficult. Doing so in sync with others even more so. Still not controversial.
3. YOU AVOID, AT ALL COSTS, MOVING YOUR BODY WHILE PLAYING A WIND INSTRUMENT. To make the correct, pleasant sounds, you need to be in the correct form. And that form involves your ENTIRE body, even your legs when sitting down.
4. “oh, but I’ve seen marching bands before and-” MARCHING BANDS HAVE ENTIRE SCIENTIFIC FIELDS DEDICATED TO FIGURING OUT HOW TO MARCH WITH MINIMUM BREAKING OF PROPER FORM. A marching band tries to be as smooth as possible while moving, so as not to jar their instrument, mouth, neck, arms, torso, or anything else. These ladies and gentlemen are BOUNCING and still playing properly, what the FU-!
5. AND ANOTHER THING! Wind instruments and dancing BOTH make demands on your breathing, so the fact that they are dancing (making you breath faster for extra oxygen) AND playing wind instruments (making you effectively hold your breath) AT THE SAME TIME is HUGE. Their lungs must be MASSIVE.
I live in South Africa. And if you live in South Africa and you have any contact with people from the US or Canada you might have run into a question about wildlife like lions and elephants roaming our streets. Most South Africans get pretty offended by questions like this. We are a civilized country, our large and dangerous wildlife gets contained in properly fenced parks.
I use to get offended by this until I visited a few places in Canada and realized that the reason why you ask is that some of your large and dangerous wildlife does simply roam the countryside and sometimes make excursions into town.
This honestly blew my mind. What do you mean, you have bears just walking around? What the hell?
north americans don't all encounter deadly megafauna on our porches and front lawns but it happens often enough that we all think this is a reasonable amount of gigantic animal to happen to your house. so when we think of africa we kinda imagine it like this:
like. if we had elephants here. this is what we would be putting up with on the regular. what do you mean you guys are more sensible than us.
Few weeks ago there was a black bear casually roaming the suburbs with local news casually reporting on it, while surrounding cities were like "Hang on, there's bears that close to DC?" Bear was caught and relocated. Casually.
The ones that really freak me out isn’t listed above: alligators and crocodiles.
There’s tons of them along significant stretches of the US and they just kinda... wander around sometimes. And I mean, what are you going to do to stop them? Put up a fence?
The world needs more old women in denim dresses doing shots at the family picnic. You’d deprive us all of that? You’d just let your chaotic personality go to waste? I just can’t wrap my head around that.
After seeing some angry comments I thought it put something more positive up.
edit: I updated some colours, thank you Avia on twitter for letting me know what was up.
“not sure if this is a good representation of the trans community :/“ right well a trans person made it, and they made it for other trans people, so. perhaps that logic is not applicable here. must we live our entire creative lives under the watchful eye of Cisgender Scrutiny? how can you compare self-expression to willful misrepresentation lmao
