Okay so after I spend an entire day to watch two episodes because I had to pause everytime I got to angry I'm just... WHAT THE FUCK????
First there's the whole... torturing Lex and making him think he's crazy and God I wanted to die when Lex kept hallucinating his brother and saying he couldn't stand when he cried and GOD. Because like, since everyone in this series is mostly 15~17 kids Lex always comes out as the mature, sometimes scary, one. But he's as much as young as everyone else and it was so easy for Lionel to manipulated that and GOD do I hate Lionel so fucking much BUT this was something he already did before time and time again and Lex has enough trauma for at least 20 lifetimes but what made me speechless was ... Clark's friends.
I was just speechless how in both Shattered and Asylum Clark's they were... Incredible, utterly disgusting.
Clark is a 15 (16??? 17???) kid trying his best and DEFINITELY not equipped for this kind of situation and so so afraid of people (by people, the Luthors) knowing his secret but nevertheless... He's trying to help, really. Even after what happens to Lana. But like... The way the others act is so??? Out of touch???? If it was ANYONE ELSE, and I mean literally ANYONE ELSE in that asylum everyone would be 100% down to save the other person but since it's Lex suddenly... it's not worth it??? Jonathan and Peter seem HAPPY with the electroshock therapy because it means he'll forget Clark's secret and WHAT THE FUCK. Jonathan AT LEAST tries to be subtle meanwhile Peter literally says "and you think that's a good thing?" when Clark tells him it wasn't happening anymore and YES IT IS???? HOLY SHIT AREN'T YOU ALL SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE... THE GOOD GUYS??? THEN WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU ALL ACTING LIKE IT'S OKAY TO TORTURE ONE PERSON THAT YOU NEVER *NEVER* SAW BEING THE ASSHOLE YOU ALL CLAIM HIM TO BE???
And the worst thing is that Lex PROVED them wrong. He knew Clark's secret but he didn't tell anyone, when that random guy I forgot the name tried to help him he refused it because he hurt Clark, and at that point, he thought Clark had *abandoned* him, and then when he was being hurt and having his brain fried he was again, only worrying about Clark.
It really is a shame that Clark didn't see any of this happening because dammit was Lex more of a friend and a true hero than any of his others friends and even FATHER. And god it makes me so mad because it's clear that without their influences Clark would've choose to be honest with Lex, we see him full of guilt in the end of asylum, but Jonathan's reaction was basically "well yeah he got his brain fried and still lives with Lionel but look at the bright side HE DOESN'T KNOW YOUR SECRET!"
It just... baffles me that those are the people in charge to turn Clark into the hero he's supposed to be. Because those... aren't heroic actions at all.
And in the end it's so sad because Lex says he'll never forget how important Clark's friendship is to him and he feels bad because he thinks he mistreated Clark while he was out of it but... it wasn't that. And Clark doesn't tell him. And I know Clark loves Lex but it shows how obvious the difference in how Lex views Clark - as his hero and only contact with the light - and how Clark views Lex - as his worrisome friend that he's always afraid will turns agaisnt him one day -. And this disconnection, specially Clark's fears towards Lex, is what ultimately will lead to their friendship downfall.
TD;DR I'm just so angry and disgusted because everyone decided that Lex's life and well being were less worth protecting than Clark's secret - a secret that Lex showed more capacity to have his mouth shut about than Peter ever did.
