Ok I watched that trailer for the new PotO movie and

Christine is indeed a dancer instead of a singer (also don't think her name is Christine)

The Phantom is named Ernest lol

The movie is set in the present day with at least some flashbacks to 1875

Ernest is an Actual Ghost haunting the opera house to stop them from performing his work bc...idk a curse or something?

He does appear to have a scar on one cheek but it might not be there in every scene. Not exactly a disfigurement at any rate.

Leroux: so yeah the phantom is hideously ugly but he's just some guy not actually supernatural at all

Not explicit in the trailer but I feel like we're going to get modern day not-Christine is the reincarnation of the phantom's dead wife or something
