Howdy! I’m Zourdoh (Zou for short), and I draw things. Most of those things happen to be centered around my current interest, Call of Duty. Particularly Ghosts and Modern Warfare (both iterations), but I may occasionally make Black Ops art as well.

Edit but I keep forgetting to mention that I won’t disclose my age for privacy reasons but I am an adult.

As for the themes of my art, they tend to be on the more mature side. This includes blood, gore, yada yada typical things that come with Call of Duty as a franchise. That being said, my account is marked as 16+.

I felt the need to add this because half the CoD community is proshippers by the looks of it but I am not into that and I don’t want those kinds of people near my account.

I don’t get asks often, but do not be afraid to send one in! It could be for art requests or simply just sharing your thoughts, i’m not picky. Just be civil that’s all I ask lmao.

i always think it's fascinating, that after soap's death in the og trilogy, when price calls mac for help, he says at the end: i'm gonna do what you taught me to do. kill 'em all.

it gives some new perspective into their relationship. i mean, it's logical that mac inspired and shaped price into who he is now, considering john was his lieutenant, but it's so fun to think about mac being the original lunatic out of the two; the one that modelled every bit of insanity onto price.

I think people are missing out on how powerful Bell actually is. I know the most common fandom interpretation of Bell is as this pathetic weak, brainless dog, or whatever, but I think that ignores how much strength in both body and mind Bell actually has.

Imagine being so resilient against torture that the literal only way for people to break you is to use literal mind control and an identity replacement method. But. Not even that works.

The real Bell, under all that, in the subconscious, rebels and keeps fighting so they never get the biggest piece of information behind the red door. Even with MkUltra destroying their body, Bell still fights back; regardless of their understanding that that's what they're doing now.

And it's only when Bell gets a literal brain injection with painful chemicals, and almost dies, that they finally see the truth. All the power is placed into Bell's hands right there, this is literally a historical moment that Bell is responsible for.

It was a choice. Adler had no control over what Bell chose to do, and I think that is why they had to die. You can't fully control a fighter, you can only kill them. If they had perfect control over Bell right down to their identity and personality traits, they definitely would've kept Bell around because that's something that is nothing but useful even if Perseus might be gone. A soldier you have full control over and has very useful skills, AND they're very intelligent? Of course, they would keep Bell, despite all this tearing at their body. You think they care?

But. That doesn't seem to be the case. How curious. It's almost like Adler, Park, Sims, and Hudson never had full control over Bell at all, and that could've costed them their lives along with the rest of the world. Funny how that works, huh?

One more thing!

This does not determine if Bell is a good or bad person. While saving the world is an absolutely heroic thing that someone deserves their flowers for, Bell can still end up returning to being a terrorist or an international criminal if they want to. After all, you can't benefit from your criminal acts if there is no market for them because you killed your clientele.

That's why Bell has such a conflicting role in the series. For Bell to be a good person, they have to own whatever evil things they were an accessory to (because trust me, an organization like Perseus with members willing to torture people would certainly have evil things going on behind the scenes) and work against them to repair the damage as best they can.

Putting them through MkUltra was not holding them accountable or making them into a better person. No one was holding Bell accountable for any bad things they may have done, assisted in, or was silent about despite being a witness. Torture is not accountability.

I can't believe I have to say that, but unfortunately, "what Adler did was justified because Bell wasn't cooperating, and they were a terrorist" is an actual serious take I have seen (one that got a lot of support in that comment section mind you). I hate to be political right now but "Terrorists deserve to be tortured" is literally how we end up with torture camps that accomplish nothing but horrific human rights abuses. There is no scientific basis for torture accomplishing anything in the long term.

I want to be really clear when I say this, I do not support terrorism and the harm of innocent people. Intelligence work is absolutely necessary for these organizations to be stopped. In theory, we need organizations like the CIA and the FBI for the safety of the population. But I do not support torture. I will never support torture whether it be from the CIA or some other terrorist organization. I do not support literally kidnapping people and imprisoning them without trial because that's how we ended up with Guantánamo Bay. (Oh and I don't support my country purposefully getting dictators into power so that they can ruin their countries for generations to come, which then leads to lives being lost or ruined.)

Sorry for that diatribe. Just a reminder, Adler is not a good person there is canonical basis for this take, and he is not the hero in this situation. That honor goes to Bell, and in the next game, Case is the hero.

And again, if MkUltra forced Bell to be a good polite person for the CIA permanently, this would also be more evidence for the argument for Bell to not be killed at the end of the game? So, Bell being a good person is up in the air.

Actually, I think prey metaphors are also sold short because of the cliché "i'm only food that must be eaten" thing. The biggest killers of people in the animal kingdom are prey animals. Hippos and Water Buffaloes are by far the most deadly animals in the continent of Africa. Zebras are responsible for the most injuries to zookeepers. And why is that?

Well they share a zip code with deadly predators like the Lion, Leopard, Hyena, and so on. They're hypervigilant and quick to kick, bite, and hurt someone because they're always prepared for a brutal attack even in a context where it will never come.

Even the average American elk and moose are like this. They are nervous prey animals and that nervousness makes them either run from you, or beat the shit out of you even though you never intended to hurt them at all. Moose and Bison are far bigger killers than the bears and wolves.

They're pure muscle and strong bone built to run and rock the shit of any predator that menaces them. And all that is packed with a brain that tells them there are things that are waiting to kill them at every moment like any other prey animal.

Even the hare will fight back against a predator if it can; boxing with its digging claws to keep a hawk back.

Don't forget about the sloth bear, a bear with the mentality of a prey animal because it shares a zip code with tigers, but has all the strength and power of a bear. It is by far one of the most aggressive animals in the Indian subcontinent.

Predators are still quite dangerous, but they tend to be very pragmatic. They're not going to kill you if you aren't worth it, or there are things preferable to you in the area. That's usually why whenever a lion turns into a man eater, that's not just because the lion is acting like a lion, that's because there's probably some kind of injury preventing it from hunting normally. And the same goes for tigers.

Prey animals do not subscribe to such niceties, they don't lose anything from beating a creature to within an inch of its life for no reason. Predators have a lot to lose if they start a fight for no reason, and they end up getting hurt.

Whenever I think of Bell's thought patterns and behavior after getting away from Adler, I think of the video of the bear who lived in a cage for so long, that when released into a wider space of land, it ended up pacing around in a circle like until it wore the ground into a path.

Even when free, he doesn't comprehend it because he's so into the cycle that Perseus created and the one that Adler cemented. He runs through instructions, doesn't move outside of them as best he can, and gets out of the way before he gets too much attention. He tries to act like a machine, but he's too human for that so it drives him insane.

It's literally like he's a dog that finally managed to pull out the pole in the ground his lead is tied to so he can move around as he pleases; but it's still there dragging behind him, so someone can just easily grab it; and he'll be tethered again.

And Bell is simultaneously fearful of this, but also so used to it that if it does happen again... well, he's not going to fight back until he has to.

But no one can live like this forever, especially not someone who's fought to survive and bit the hands that fed him as soon as it became clear his life was on the line.

The whole point of my Bell OC is that he stops doing this. If Lubomyr continues this line of behavior, even with people who are less malicious (like Roach and the 141 in my AU), then he's going to be "Bell" until he dies.

"Bell" is brainwash residue that needs to be chipped away by Lubomyr working to nail down who he actually is. Not just before the MKUltra stuff but before Perseus waltzed into his life when he was at his worst. Who is Lubomyr Koval without people forcing him to be what they want?
