I loooove responding to texts with the thumbs up emoji. It's like the emoji form of saying "on it boss"
the funniest part of the "misha collins accidentally falsely coming out as bisexual" thing is that it was entirely an unforced error. how do you say this and not realize it makes it 100% sound like you're coming out as bisexual. like why would you even mention bisexuality here if that wasn't the point... if it was a slip of the tongue why would you just move on instead of correcting yourself... this would be like me going on stage and saying "shout out to everyone who's left-handed like i am!" when i know for a fact that i'm right-handed. i'm not offended, just totally baffled. how did this happen
yes, babe, you're sick and twisted, will you come back to bed- what? yes, of course you're evil and irredeemable. now can you please cuddle with me

"Stop scrolling and please help me spread the word, because if I've landed on your page you're most likely either a black woman or someone who cares about black women and the simple phrase I'm about to share could help save a black woman's life.
Doctors are to black women what police officers are to black men. That may seem controversial but I believe it to be true and I speak from personal experience.
If you've seen this TikTok you know that a 2016 study showed that 50% of medical students and residents thought that black people couldn't feel pain the same as white people.
And we learned from this video that because of a 1999 study, to this day, there's a black correction factor for the creatinin levels in black people's kidneys, meaning we're less likely to recieve a kidney transplant if needed.
So if you go to a doctor, feel you aren't getting proper treatment or they refuse the treatment you've requested, say to them the following:
I will need you to document on record that you are refusing the treatment (or medicine) I've requested, and the reason you are doing so."
This works. I have used it in other situations. If medical staff have to document and take responsibility and be on the hook legally for doing shady shit they behave much differently.
If you weren’t already going to spread this advice because black women are at risk, then spread it because it’s applicable to everyone else as well, including you reading this.
But particularly women, and especially black women.
Death of the author feels like such a white take tbh
“it doesn’t matter that this author was blatantly and violently racist and homophobic because the author is dead uwu”
Honestly, death of the author is a concept that is used incorrectly quite a bit. It’s meant to mean “It doesn’t matter if the author had [x] intentions because the text itself and the reader’s interpretation of it matter more than what the author intends.”
So, if an author is not intending to be racist or homophobic, death of the author means their work can still be racist and homophobic if that is what the text portrays to the readers. Whether the author meant it or not.
The intent of the author, no matter how benign, does not change what is on the page. And if the page is full of bias and prejudice, then it’s biased and prejudiced.
“Death of the author” doesn’t mean “JK is a racist transphobe but Harry Potter was important to a lot of people so let’s disassociate the writer from her work” it means “JK says the goblins aren’t antisemitic caricatures but they very clearly parallel antisemitic tropes and caricatures in the English Literary Canon so discussing that is a valid approach to exploring race and discrimination in the Harry Potter series and you can’t dismiss that approach with ‘but the author said nuh-uh.’”
