I wanted to summarize my taste in music, and originally thought: 10 songs will definitely be enough!
So here are the 20 songs that describe my taste in music (plus 5 bonuses which I feel need to be called out):
1. Mowgli’s Road by MARINA (of the diamonds kind, and this goes to every other song “by MARINA”)
A weird creepy song that touches on indecision and has a pop-ish sound? HECK yes
2. METALLIC STALLION by MARINA
Melancholic for a lover that is being lost, with beautiful vocals and a beat that starts in THE MIDDLE OF THE SONG (that sounds like horses galloping)? Literal perfection and also has the complexity I like in pop music
3. That Distant Shore by Steven Universe
I just needed to mention I like Steven Universe songs lol and this is one of my faves because it has beautiful vocals and a feeling of longing
4. Inspector Gadget by Ronya
Omg can I just say that Ronya is an icon? Like having this as the title to a song is peak! Again, to mention I like Ronya and also just wild and out there sound
5. Femme Fatale by Mon Laferte
Introducing my love for spanish songs as well as being beautifully written and also introducing the album’s theme very well (by the way this is something I like to look for in songs in general, I’m not just trying to glaze this song lol)
6. Beasts of Yore by Hildegard von Blingin’
If you like medieval european aesthetics and music, this artist is the shit. And since that’s me, I like her songs and honestly any good “bardcore” cover
7. Flight Hymn by Ross Budgen
Introduces the fact I also like instrumentals pretty well, and is an epic song (what I look for in instrumentals)
8. Cueca Nortina by Los Incateños
Introducing cueca! Basically folk from my country (Chile) and they are mostly bangers! Even some newer cuecas are still very good
9. Porque Te Vas by Jeanette
Another spanish banger which also has deep lyrics on wanting the feelings you are losing with a lover’s departure, even though you have accepted they will go
10. Dark Red by Steve Lacy
Good song and I like other songs that have the general vibes of this one
11. Space and the Woods by The Late Pier
I plan on listening to more of their stuff but this still has an indie punk/electro sound I really like (idk if those are the correct genres I’m not good at discerning genres)
12. Patagonia by Dylan Morris
There are some banging songs in other languages and this song is meant to represent all of the ones I like, plus it has some history with it being an anthem for Welsh Patagonians (they do exist and the culture is really cool, look it up!)
I like grittier songs sometimes (although is this really gritty? If not what’s its vibe? I like songs with that vibe)
14. Pink Convertible by MARINA
A song that criticizes society while still having a good beat? Sign me up! (Should have been in the Barbie movie, thanks commenter which I forgot the user of for suggesting it in youtube)
15. The Subway by Chappel Roan
Need I mention anything? The vocals, the lyrics of wanting to move on, the visuals, it’s all great! Also Chappel Roan can pull off both long and short hair? Hello????
16. Times Like These by Addison Rae
Is she actually problematic? I’ve tried to look into it but can’t find anything… (if she is, I’m getting rid of all her songs in my playlist idc the allegations I’ve seen in comments are big, just haven’t found anything online collaborating it) anyways song has good lyrics and meaning, and has a relaxing, sitting by the window of your 2000’s Italian villa vibe which I really like
17. Prince In Blue by Ayla D’Lyla
I don’t remember where I heard of her but omg she is soooooo good as an artist. Her voice, her lyrics, and the ethereal vibes she brings are all perfect. This is her first ever released song and my jaw dropped. Her other songs are great too, and the ethereal vibes are something I really like
18. Prenderemos Fuego Al Cielo by Francisca Valenzuela
Peak sounds, peak lyrics about actual love, and another spanish song

Epic song that does have vocals this time! Also the main song for Sid Meyer’s Civilization 6, a banger game with banger style and no one can convince me otherwise
