Re-watching the Promised Day scenes always just leaves me wondering how in the hell Riza Hawkeye survived, let alone was conscious enough to be Roy’s eyes in the last battle.
The cut from Envy on her her shoulder, not a small wound. Plus the (probable) head injury, among the rest of her, from when Envy slammed her into the ground. Assuming Envy held her tightly enough to bruise, maybe crack some ribs we don’t know.
There’s the fight with the Bradley candidates, when she gets taken down it’s not exactly gentle.
The slice to the throat. She lays where she falls and bleeds there, then one of the Bradley candidates drags her over to the circle. Which probably aggravated the injury more. Then she bleeds on the transmutation circle. And she just is continuously bleeding until Mei gets there and heals her enough to stave off immediate death.
There’s a puddle of blood from where she first got injured, a streak of blood from there to the circle, then there is another large puddle in the circle.
So much blood. That room is splattered with Riza’s blood.
On top of all this is the mental/emotional turmoil.
Then she fights with Roy and is clear headed enough to be his eyes when it’s a miracle that she’s breathing, let alone conscious and of right mind.
Riza Hawkeye is scary guys. She looked death in the eye and said “not today motherfucker, I’ve got orders”
