You got lucky with your FRIEND, most gasters have to deal with a bunch of little fuckers who act like normal ass cats, it pays off because those gasters also get a 100 little hitmen to take out people who step out of line but a reality warper probably trumps that, tho the other FRIENDs have shown a little bit of reality warping too... eh, guess it depends on what you (FUN) value

oh yeah i realize i never made posted about my thoughts on deltarune chapter 5

it's been out for like a month now so i'm not gonna put a cut, here we go

right off the bat those toriel sprites at the beginning of the chapter are so goddamn cute LOOK AT HER AUHHHH

i liked the festival, and given that this chapter is already really long i don't really mind that this part is pretty short; yeah it was built up to be something bigger but i mean, it's probably pretty big for the residents of hometown

gotta say though, i did get a wee bit exhausted at some point in the middle of the cliffs area when i played for the first time but i didn't take any voluntary breaks because i wanted to experience the chapter in full and not potentially get spoiled by stuff online and whatnot. while that did end up initially hindering my enjoyment of the chapter a little bit at the time (especially since i took WAY longer to beat it than literally everyone else i knew so i was hella jealous) i'm having a lot more fun with it now

in terms of the story overall, i like it a lot, it's very funny and i really like the character moments we got. it did feel slightly jarring with susie and noelle jumping to being on what they both feel like is a date (i'd have thought susie would be oblivious as always) but maybe susie had some offscreen conversations and pep talks. i'm not complaining though, we love suselle (sorry kris). ralsei likely also had what susie may have gotten offscreen, given his change in behavior throughout the chapter, although it could also be due to his own journey of self discovery

i didn't really care that much for the flowers on my first playthrough due to my exhaustion at the time, but they grew on me. my favorite flower is blue by the way, he's awesome

i've heard that people are complaining about the story progression of this chapter and, while we don't learn as much as we did in chapter 4, we WERE also told that this would be one last fun adventure (we DID learn some stuff though and got some nudges toward other things like dess and the dark worlds' existence and what happened with asgore so it's not like we got NOTHING)

i wanted to get the ten pink coins needed to unlock the secret boss but unfortunately i looked it up on youtube and got spoiled for it being mew mew :( (the boss itself was cool but it took me forever to beat due to skill issue + headache + bomb attack + bad mood... so i took a twenty minute break and beat her in a couple of tries when i got back)

the music in this chapter was an absolute banger, as always; my personal favorite is Sunset of Seven Suns followed by Cutie Mew Mew Magic, Flower Man and Quiet Glade (...honorable mentions go to Garden of Hopes and Dreams and Running Sky and Flower Castle)

oh yeah, uh, there's also the weird route, huh...

that was certainly an experience

curious to see where that goes in chapter 7

uhh but yeah, good chapter, looking forward to the next one!
