how do i write in first person and not have it read like baby's first wattpad fic?

been tryin for years and never managed to not have it read that way

i should redraw "til I'm empty"

while i like it a lot as is, ive got the brain worms (positive)

#god like this covers so so many different things but the biggest one is that like #i was wanted! desperately desperately wanted! my mother wanted another kid after she had my older brother #and for a brief moment she was pregnant a second time! but it was ectopic #after it all the doctors told her she'd likely never have another kid and it destroyed her #but then came me! her miracle baby she even found out she was pregnant around Christmas time #and then she found out i was a girl and she was so so happy she loved my brother so much but she wanted a daughter too #she wanted the dress up the teaparties she wanted to teach her how to cook and blah blah blah blah #and i know the blah blah blah sounds harsh but #she desperately wanted a little girl and she got me instead #i refused to be cuddled #i hated being touched #even as an infant it was like i hated everyone and everything but most of all i hated myself #she wanted a little girl and she got this Thing that was just so so so angry all the time #i mellowed out over time i became someone she could like and love and be proud of #worst of all is she told me all of this and i know i KNOW she wasn't trying to hurt me when she said it #she was saying i exceeded all of the expectations that had been set for and that she was so proud of me #but it still hurt #because as deeply i was wanted i wasnt I'm not WHAT was wanted #okay that's enough bearing my heart to the world i think

sometimes we realize just how far from humanity and personhood we feel and for how long its been that way, like a gaping void

ever since we were little, there's been a wall, impossible to go unnoticed by those around me and while that wall has holes in it now, we still can't get quite through to the otherside, we're not even sure we want to be on the other side anymore. if we don't does it make the wall more of a cage?

anyway, we were assigned Animal/Pet— allowed to "participate" in personhood but never be one—in House and we're still there.

i think some of you dont like narratives or stories or characters i think you just like fanfiction tropes

protagonists can and will be sexist, racist, insensitive, cruel, stupid, etc, especially towards the beginning of a story. these are called character flaws and they are a surprise tool that will lead to narrative fulfillment later
