Misquoting Carlos Castenada. I can make myself miserable or make myself happy. The amount of work is the same. Day 101 [original quote found here: http://pinterest.com/pin/475340935646874606/]
Hanging out with my son and his family. Relaxing Sunday afternoon. The whole day has been a good one. Also, it's sunny and warm and the rhododendron is blooming at almost full capacity. Day 100!
This rhododendron in my son's yard is amazing when it is in full bloom. I'm visiting until tomorrow and hope it fully blooms before I leave. Also, visiting my son. There is so much energy in this house it spills out in screams and squeals and games of basketball. And we went to the Virginia Museum of Fine Art.
Heaven help me, I like watching the world go by from a bus. I also enjoyed looking down into cars and seeing families, men in vans, women in fancy cars with their hair done up and loaded with jewelry. A guy held a phone between his legs, typing while he drove. In another car, in stopped traffic, a couple sat side by side texting. Also looked down over the greenery at trash and ponds and streams and strange mechanical remnants. In one section, everyone threw their trash over the privacy fence into the trees.
Surprise slippers for mom. From the yarn she gave me. I told her many times everything I make is for me. I can sit in front of her knitting and she won't know.
Free yarn! Stuff mom isn't going to use. Get to search patterns! New project!
Had some fun with this, making it more dramatic and dream like.
Riding the tram through Norfolk Botanical Gardens. Lots of blooming flowers, trees, and shrubs. Saw my first rhododendron in bloom.
Traditional Easter service. Lots of incense and we all know how much I love incense! There was a lot of "throwing" of holy water, too. I got a direct hit. Many strong spiritual moments, particularly during the singing. The message was on love and forgiveness and renewal. 💗 And bright colors at the table. Mom surprised me by purchasing these placemats. And then she pulled it together with dishes and napkins. And then the tulips. A lot of joy and celebration. (Incense photo from http://www.traditioninaction.org/religious/religiousimages/D012_Incense039.jpg.)
Editing or revising a novel. The book I'm using is lovely. Not a stellar day. Best I could do. There was a lot of admiring spring booms (by car again, so, no photos). This is good for weeks of happiness moments.
Day 92
Mom has my favorite plant food! And there are daffodils in the garden. Also, it's a warm and balmy day. Nearly summer. Definitely spring.
Another walk on the beach. Strongly felt the meditational relaxing sensations of the wind, waves, and sand. Also, energized by all the blooming Bradford pears, magnolia, daffs, and those trees with the star-shaped flowers. I was driving, so, not taking photos.
Wacky nebulous stuff. Just because.
Day 89
Sometimes an effective plan can be as simple as determining in what order to string the beads. Also, discovering the connection between simple plans and my mother who is often complex.
If it's raining, this must be Richmond (VA). Something else that gives me quiet happy feelings for no conscious reason. Like coming home. Mostly because I lived here longer than anywhere else.
Waves and wind out the window. The other bedroom window. Still, seeing this as I went downstairs raised my energy and brightened my outlook. I like seeing this with or without waves.
Good sleep and good vibrations! Such a good beginning to the day. Took three apps to make this image. Still learning how to be friends with my iPad. Day 85
