My demons dance

in twilight darkness

all around

the edges of my vision.

It’s a passionate affair

with wild limbs flailing

to music I could not hear.

But I’m picking

up the beat

and learning

the steps.

I stand on the sidelines for a

moment before diving in

head first and I’m suddenly

in the thick of it.

Moving with rhythm now,

and settling into the

Devil’s groove.

And then you’re there

and, as our demons

make partners

of each other,

we come together

and the moment is ours.

Hell has seen nothing,

next to the fire

we ignite,

and the sparks

between us.

And the Devil

and all the demons

cower and submit

while our bodies

move as one,

entwined

and entangled.
