everyone knows that kids w divorced parents can have a rlly tough childhood but honestly let’s take a moment and consider the kids who’s parents never got divorced yet kept fighting and arguing every day… sometimes divorce is for the best option, both for partners and especially their kids

My mom says we can never understand what it’s like to grow up with one parent but we have always told her conversely she doesn’t know what it’s like to grow up with two parents who are physically and emotionally abusive towards each other

When I was younger, my father was usually sent off overseas because of the military. When he retired and came home, he and my mother fought all the time, yelling and screaming at each other. I had friends with divorced parents or single parents who never married and I remember thinking how much better it would have been if my parents divorced, too. I grew up wishing my parents would divorce so I wouldn't have to hear their pain every night. I am now 21 years old and nothing has changed with them. And for some reason they're still unhappily married. I'm scared of commitment with anyone because I'm afraid I'll end up like them. I don't usually throw myself out there like this, but having two parents can be as tough as having only one. Especially when you can't go to either of them for help.
