Today is the one-year anniversary of the end of 1796 Broadway, and the two-year anniversary of the first chapter! So we wanted to check in with where the Avengers are today!

Peter Parker's just turned eighteen and is legally old enough to join the Avengers, but he's having trouble adjusting to working on a team. After Tony and Peter clash over Peter's decision-making in a battle, Tony arrives back at Avengers Tower to discover what is only the most recent in a long history of paternity claims...but this one turns out to be a more pleasant surprise than usual.

Hello there, new folks!  Time to do a little housekeeping since so many of you just arrived.  Welcome!  890fifth is a bi/triweekly stevetony fanfiction challenge.  Past work is archived here by round, author, and universe.  There is also a collection here on AO3.  (Newer writers, if you weren’t aware of the AO3 collection and you want to add your completed challenge fics, go right ahead and I’ll approve them.)

This fic challenge has very few rules.  It’s open to anyone who wants to participate, regardless of skill level or the length of your submission (unless length is specifically stated in the prompt).  Your fic just has to focus on Steve and Tony.  Friendshippy stuff is fine, wild reinterpretation of the prompts is fine, writing in any universe is fine (And encouraged), in fact everything is fine except for being unkind to one another.

Want to submit a fic?  Great!  The current prompt is here and closes on March 21st, but round twelve will start the next day.  Late work is always accepted, I continually update past challenge roundups.  If you do post a fic, just make sure you put “890fifth” in the first 5 tags or mention the blog in your post so I see it.  You are responsible for any warnings/ratings that apply to your fic.

Last of all, this community is for having fun and writing stuff and making new friends, so please don’t be shy if you want to jump in a post something, we’d love to have you!  In that vein, there’s an IRC channel here for chatting about the current challenge or writing or whatever, so do feel free to use it.

Natasha slept on her belly, her leg slung over the empty side of the mattress, over the place where Steve’s warm solidity should have been. She caught at his pillow, clawing it, leaving deep imprints in the down.

Dreams of War, Dreams of Liars.

I can finally post about this!  I wrote a 35,000 word MCU Avengers fanfic that integrated the PASIV tech from Inception into the MCU.  

It’s Steve/Tony, extremely trippy, and features Tiberius Stone, CapWolf, and The Midnight Racer.

When Steve succumbs to a malevolent attack that puts him permanently to sleep, the only way to wake him up is to unearth a technology that hasn’t been used in twenty years.

I also created a spotify soundtrack to go with it.

Exactly one year ago today I posted this post with a cartoon of a scene in 1796 Broadway.

Today, I went back one year on my tumblr and decided to redraw the nearest piece of art. 

A lot of the time, I hear people say that they can’t draw, and they don’t think that practice will help them, that they just don’t have the talent for it.  And of course we all have different natural abilities, different levels of hand-eye coordination or visual abilities or small motor skills or whatever, and some people are definitely going to be limited in their ability to draw.  But if you do not have anything that physically or mentally limits your ability to draw, and you simply wish you could draw but never felt like you were very good at it, just sit down and start drawing. 

When you are an adult, it’s very hard to see the improvement in your work from day to day, but sometimes just a lot of practice will make you so much better.  It might not make you the best— I will never be the best artist, by any means— but it will make you better and better and better and one day you will look back at what you did a year ago and be amazed at your progress.

This year I’m going to give more art challenges to myself, and I hope you will all join me, whether or not you think you can art!  Show me what you were doing a year ago compared to now!
