I fall in love with Niall every time I write him! Damn this beautiful Irish man.
Niall had spent a lot of his time surrounded by men in love. He had known them all as teenagers before true love struck each of them. He watched the effect that it had on them, how it changed the way that they acted and what they did when that special person was around and even when they weren't.
Love suited Harry the best, and Niall enjoyed watching him wear it. When Harry was in love, Niall would swear he actually saw his face turn into that heart eyes emoji. He had always thought that it was only possible in cartoons, but Harry's face would light up with an expression Niall couldn't describe with words. The only way it could be summed up was by using the heart eyes emoji. When Harry looked at the girl that he was in love with, his whole face glowed with affection and endearment.
It wasn't just his face that changed either, suddenly there'd be a visible spring in his step and he would go around everywhere singing 1970s love songs under his breath. Harry was often a rather pensive and sedentary person but when he was in love it was as if he was now dancing through life.
Niall was certain that such a transition had never happened to him. Over the years he had had a few girlfriends but he didn't think that the other boys would have ever noticed much difference in him. He was yet to notice a difference in himself.
At the time he was in the relationships he had wondered if he was in love with them. He cared about each of the girls and he really enjoyed their company, but he definitely never felt like the heart eyes emoji. And so he wondered often that maybe he had never been in love at all.
Cynthia and Niall had been dating for almost 6 months now and he was waiting patiently for the love to kick in. People often told him that he needed to give it time, but Niall didn't believe that love was much like flowers. He knew that flowers needed time to grow. But Niall believed that love was more like the stars, once two people had been drawn together, love would happen in almost an instant.
Niall cared about Cynthia a lot. He enjoyed her company, she was funny and generous, she was witty and bright, she was beautiful and her lips were soft and the feel of her hands on his body made him feel good. He had spent more than one night lying awake and cursing at himself for not loving her. She ticked all the right boxes, but he just never felt the spark. It made him wonder if he knew what love was at all, maybe he was in love and he was just expecting too much because he'd spent far too long watching a romantic like Harry.
His quest to find answers had led him to go as far as to buy a book titled How Can You Tell If You're Really In Love?, to buy countless women's magazines (because the men's ones never seemed to have many articles about being in love), to Google it, and finally he was left with the option that he kind of knew he probably should have tried in the first place.
“Hey Niall. Nice to hear from you.” Harry calls through the phone and Niall feels instantly a little more nervous about what he's going to ask and a little more at ease. Harry was the perfect example of being in love, he was bound to have good advice.
“How do I know if I'm in love?” Niall asks quickly, afraid that if he gets into too much small talk he'll chicken out.
Love wasn't a very frequent topic of conversation between him and Harry. Despite being best friends for years, it was one of those things that they just didn't really talk about much. Harry was a romantic but Niall had never really considered himself to be one of those and so talking about feelings and love often felt a little awkward.
“Woah. Bit heavy for this time of day isn't it? You been drinking?” Harry asks, chuckling to himself slightly.
“Harry.” Groans Niall. “I'm serious. How do you know?” He asks, forgetting that the question he was asking was a little more complex than his usual 'how are you?'.
“Err... Because you manage to find a way to think about her in everything you do. You'll want to tell her all the stupid little things about your day. I suppose you'll just get this feeling that you belong together... like soul mates. When you want to be mad at her you can't be because you'll suddenly realise that you love her even more than you did before.” Harry says, getting slightly carried away as he speaks dreamily about love.
“I was worried you'd say something like that.” Niall huffs in response and he listens as Harry chuckles softly.
“True love happens when you least expect it. I promise you that one day, someone is going to walk into your life and you're going to just know that you have to do everything you possibly can to make sure that they don't just walk straight back out.” Harry explains.
“I just wish she'd hurry up and walk into my life now.” Niall grumbles. “I want to look like the heart eyes emoji for once.” He adds, frowning.
“What are you on about now?” Harry chuckles.
“Nothing.” Niall says with a sigh. “Thanks... For the advice. I appreciate it.” Niall says honestly and after their quick goodbyes, he hangs up.
Three weeks pass by and Niall does his best to push thoughts of love and heart eye emojis aside, after his phone call with Harry and the advice that love would hit him when he least expected it. He had actually been doing a pretty good job, it had hardly crossed his mind since.
Today was just a usual Wednesday for Niall. In the morning he had been training with Mark at the gym and now he was on his way into town to run the week's errands; picking up some new guitar strings, dropping off his dry cleaning, and buying some new trainers.
The hiatus had been rather enjoyable for Niall, he felt that he could live a more normal life, just going about his business like anybody else. Ever since the break started he had been running his own errands and loving every minute of it. Taking his time and watching the world go by in a mad flurry and rush. If Niall was a gentle breeze then you were a tornado.
You have been rushed off your feet all morning, running errands for your new and incredibly demanding boss. This was your third coffee run of the day so far and it was before midday already. You are dashing around without a second to pause and think, weaving yourself through the busy streets to make sure that you get this coffee back to your boss on time.
You pull your phone out of your bag and look down at it quickly to check the time, as you carefully hold onto the small tray of coffees in your other hand... and that's when Niall sees a journal drop to the floor out of the corner of his eye. He waits to see the owner bend down to pick it up but that never happens, he just sees you making your way down the road completely oblivious.
Niall moves quickly to where your journal is now laying on the ground a few metres away from him. He bends down and picks it up and then hotfoots it after you. Within just a few minutes he has caught up with you.
“Excuse me, miss.” He calls as he taps you on the shoulder.
“I'm really sorry! I haven't got time to sign up to any charities today. I promise that I care a lot about children and animals.” You reply, feeling incredibly guilty and not wanting to turn around as you carry on walking. You hear a soft chuckle in response as Niall can't help himself as he hears the guilt in your voice.
You turn to look over your shoulder at where the chuckle has come from and you are met with a beautiful pair of blue eyes and a mop of soft looking bleach blonde hair (Niall hadn't bothered to style it after getting out of the shower at the gym). You feel your heart start to beat a little faster as you recognise him and try not to fangirl instantly. You turn your body around completely so that the two of you are facing but neither of you speak for a moment.
Niall suddenly feels a little dumbfounded and he isn't sure what he is supposed to be saying to you. You were cute, really cute. Not only had you just said a really endearing thing, you were gorgeous and just being in your presence was causing his stomach to somersault with butterflies and he wasn't entirely sure why.
“I'm not trying to get you to sign up to anything. I just saw you drop your notebook on the floor. Thought you might want it back.” Niall eventually manages to say, feeling slightly breathless.
“Oh. Thank you.” You whisper, carefully taking the book from Niall's hands.
He isn't entirely sure why but he can't quite let go of the journal in his hands. You pull it towards yourself very gently but it remains in Niall's grip. It's as if he is scared to let go in case you take the book and run. He just stands there for a moment, still staring at you with his hands on the journal, he watches in awe at the grace with which you touch the book and at the gentle way you tug at it. Suddenly the enchanting sound of you giggling wakes him from his daze and he lets go of it softly.
“I'm sorry.” He says a little bashfully and he looks at your face closely and when he sees such a beautiful earnest smile on your face he feels his own light up.
“That's okay. Thank you so much for returning it to me.” You smile fondly at him and then you suddenly realise that you ought to get back to your office with the coffees. “I'm really sorry. But I have to run. I've got to get these back to my boss.” You say suddenly and you try to stuff the journal back in your bag.
“Can I help?” Niall asks quickly, desperate to keep talking to you for a little bit longer. He takes hold of the tray of drinks as you put the journal back in your bag securely. “Can I walk you to your office?” He asks, wishing he had a better excuse to keep you with him.
“That would be nice.” You smile happily and Niall has never felt more proud of himself than now, knowing that he has caused you to smile.
Niall isn't sure what to say to you as you make the short walk to your office. He wants to tell you that he thinks you're his soul mate. That he was right all along about love being more like the stars than flowers. That Harry had told him he was going to meet you when he least expected it. But he didn't think they were the best of conversations starters. Now he was beginning to curse himself for not asking Harry what he was supposed to say when he met this person!
Thankfully, you talk to him about the weather. Niall really likes that. You talk to him like he's just any other stranger in the street, not like he's famous or important. All too quickly you stop outside the building that houses your office and Niall wonders whether he's made a good enough impression so far to ask you for your phone number.
“Well, it was a pleasure meeting you, Niall. Thank you again, for chasing after me. I'm sure you have much better things to be doing.” You say, as you finally take back the tray of drinks that Niall so kindly held for you. Niall just dumbly shakes his head.
“Not really.” He mumbles softly and you can't help but laugh.
“I'm Y/N by the way.” You say, offering him your hand which he takes very gently.
Niall loves the way your name sounds and he pictures it written beside his own. Niall and Y/N, it just seemed to fit together like the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle.
“Could I thank you properly by getting you a drink some time?” You ask him, feeling brave as Niall has seemed so down to earth and you haven't been able to stop smiling since you first set eyes on him.
“Yes, please.” Niall grins happily and he pulls his phone out of his pocket and unlocks it.
His background picture of Cynthia stares back at him and he immediately feels a sharp pang of guilt. He definitely didn't want to hurt her. She was a lovely girl, just not the one for him. Making a mental note (and highlighting it) to break things off with Cynthia as soon as possible, Niall quickly starts a new contact and passes you his phone so that you can add yourself into it.
“There we go.” You say, handing his phone back to him and passing him your own. You watch as he adds his number for you and then hands it back.
“I guess I'll see you soon then.” Niall says and you nod softly.
“Yeah. See you soon.” You reply, dragging yourself away as you know you're already going to be in trouble for taking so long to get the coffee.
Niall watches as you enter the building and although he doesn't want the two of you to have to part, he walks away with a spring in his step.
As the door in front of him is swung open, Niall grins goofily before making his way inside. All afternoon he hasn't been able to get 1970s love songs out of his head.
“Sweet wonderful you, you make me happy with the things you do, oh can it be so, this feeling follows me wherever I go.” Niall sings under his breath.
“Hello to you too, Niall.” Harry says, rolling his eyes as he watches his friend practically dancing his way through his house and then slumping down on his sofa. Harry watches Niall as he doesn't say anything, just continues looking on a little dazed. “Who's got you acting like this?” Harry asks and watches as a larger grin spreads it's way across Niall's face.
“Her name's Y/N.” Niall explains and Harry can't help but chuckle at the way his friend is utterly lovestruck.
Harry can't quite put his finger on a decent word to describe the way that Niall looks. It's a kind of mixture of a dream like daze and pure amazement. It takes him a moment to try and find the right words to say but he just can't.
“You look like the heart eyes emoji, Niall.” Harry suddenly says, realising that there's no other way to explain the expression on Niall's face.
“Yeah?” Niall asks, happily. “I feel like it.” He says, happy to finally be able to say that he knows what it means to be in love.
Hey could you do a one shot or pref where you accidentally break something of his and gets super mad at you and you like use your money that you were saving up for something for yourself to fix or buy again to make him happy again and not mad at you. Add some fluff for the end please!!
Hey anon! I already have a preference very similar to this, here.
It’s not exactly how you have requested here but it is pretty similar :) I’m still happy to add this to my to do list to write some time in the future if you’d like me to though!
I really hope you all enjoy this preference. I have included some pictures of the places that the boys propose, because they all look amazing and I really hope that someone proposes to me in one of these places one day <3 haha!
Thanks for all your support on my imagines and preferences even after I went on an unannounced hiatus, haha. I’m overwhelmed and I love you all <3
Harry
Harry was away touring when you took the test that revealed you would be becoming parents. Your heart started to race excitedly and the first thing you wanted to do was tell Harry, to share in your excitement. But he was away and it wasn't the kind of news that you wanted to tell him on FaceTime, and so somehow you managed to keep it to yourself. Every time he called you it felt like the news was trying to burst out of you, but it was just two weeks until you would be visiting him in Paris and so you kept your little secret, not telling anybody else as you knew Harry needed to be the first.
Your trip to Paris arrived sooner than you were expecting it to. You were hoping to spend the day with Harry so that you could choose the perfect moment to tell him your news, but as your plane landed Harry called you and explained that they were at the venue sound checking. You get a taxi straight there and as you walk in Harry gives you the biggest grin ever. He jumps down from off the stage and wraps his arms around you.
“Hey, love. I'm sorry we're sound checking. The concert isn't until tomorrow but we're doing all this stuff today so that we have pretty much all day free tomorrow.” He smiles.
“It's okay.” You smile softly, tiptoeing up to peck his lips.
“Can I take you out on a date tonight? I think I heard something about Paris being the city of love.” He mumbles against your lips, a grin on his face.
“Of course you can.” You smile happily, thinking that the date will now be the best time to tell Harry your news.
As the evening comes Harry links your arms together and walks you downstairs to the hotel lobby and to a waiting taxi. You talk for awhile about how the tour has been going, trying to avoid any questions about your own news.
When the taxi stops Harry pays as you get out and take in your surroundings. You can see that you are outside a park and Harry smiles at you and takes your arm again. You stroll together for awhile and you wonder if now is the moment to tell Harry your news. But then you see a line of rowing boats at the side of a small lake and Harry directs you towards them. He helps you into one of the boats and then gets in with you.
“Harry, this is very romantic.” You smile softly and he grins back at you.
“I know. It's because I love you.” He says as he starts to row. You relax and take in your surroundings until suddenly you see a little temple on the shore and it looks so beautiful against the sunset backdrop. “The Temple of Love.” Harry smiles at your reaction and continues to row.
“It looks amazing.” You whisper, now almost entirely forgetting that you had news to tell him. Harry rows on closer to the temple until you reach a little pier and he helps you off the boat. He walks with you until you get closer to the temple and it takes your breath away again. You stand and admire the beauty of the view.
After a few minutes you realise that neither of you have said anything and you look to your side to speak but Harry is no longer standing beside you. Instead he is down on one knee with a tiny little box in his hand. Your heart beats rapidly and you can't help but feel a huge smile on your lips.
“Y/N.” Harry says a little seriously. “I tried to find a place to ask you this, that mirrored your beauty.” He says a slightly lopsided grin on his face as he sees you smiling so much. “And I hope that I've done you justice. And I promise you that no one in the world will work harder to make you happy than me. I love you, Y/N. Will you marry me?” He asks, opening the box to reveal the most beautiful ring you've ever seen. You feel tears of joy start to splash freely down your cheeks.
“Yes! Of course I will. I love you too.” You say, smiling through your tears and you see Harry’s smile the widest it’s ever been as he carefully takes the ring out of the box and slides it on to your finger. He quickly stands up and picks you up in his arms and holds you tight before giving you a lingering kiss on the lips.
“I can't wait to start the rest of our lives, the two of us.” Harry smiles and in the excitement of the moment you had almost completely forgotten your news.
“Actually.” You whisper, now feeling a little nervous. “The three of us.” You reply, placing the hand that is now adorned with your engagement ring on your tummy. You see Harry's eyes widen.
“You're serious?” He asks you, excitement in his voice and you nod your head gently and then it is Harry's turn to feel his eyes fill with tears of joy. “I'm going to be a dad?” He asks and you nod again.
“Yeah. I found out two weeks ago. I wanted to tell you at the right moment.” You say, as Harry pulls you even closer to his body and gives you another long and lingering kiss on the lips.
“In that case. I can't wait to start the rest of our lives, the three of us.” He says and you couldn't agree more.

Louis
You hadn't meant to keep it secret from Louis, but when you first noticed that your period was late and you took a pregnancy test and saw those two little lines something made you worry about telling him. You knew that Louis had wanted to start a family with you for a long time. The two of you had been trying for almost a year. There was nothing more that Louis wanted from life than to be a father and so you needed to be 100% sure when you told him the news, so that you didn't let him down if it turned out to be a false alarm.
Two weeks had passed from the day that you took your first test and you're still yet to build the courage to tell Louis. You have taken a test every single day and all of them have come back positive. You enter the kitchen after just taking you're 15th positive pregnancy test, convinced that now it will be safe to tell Louis that you're pregnant. You watch as he is making pancakes, not very successfully, so you go over to help him. Louis stands behind you and wraps his arms around your waist, holding his body close to yours.
“Louis, I was meaning to say.” You start as Louis starts to nuzzle your neck and leaves kisses just behind your ear.
“Mhmmm.” He hums in response and just as you're about to answer, his phone rings and he reaches to answer it. “Sorry, love. I better just take this.” He says and leaves the room. When he comes back into the room he has a wide smile on his face.
“What's got you looking so happy?” You ask, smiling too as his smile is always infectious to you.
“The fact that I'm taking a very beautiful woman on a date tonight.” He says leaning in and pecking you on the lips. “If you'll come, that is?” He questions and you giggle softly.
“Yes, I'd love to.” You smile as you decide to wait until your date tonight to tell Louis the news of your pregnancy.
The day passes slowly as you anticipate how Louis will take your special news. But eventually the evening arrives. Louis takes you out to his car and drives you towards where you are having your date. You park near Covent Garden and then Louis leads you to Clos Maggiore. You hadn't been there before but you had heard amazing things about the place from Niall's girlfriend.
Louis takes you by the hand and you walk into the restaurant. The two of you are led into a room in that has been reserved just for the two of you. It is absolutely breathtaking and such a romantic setting. You sit down and look around, taking in the beauty of the room that you are in and then you see Louis grinning at your reaction.
“It's beautiful, right?” Louis says and you nod your head softly. “Only the best for my girl.” He adds and you can't help but grin stupidly.
The two of you talk casually as you are served food and wine. You try to make it look like you're drinking the wine even though you are actually not because you know that you shouldn't if you're pregnant. Your plates are taken away and you wonder if there's a good moment to tell Louis or if you should just get it over and done with. But before you have a chance to build up the courage to tell him, he has stood up from his chair. You look at him a little confused.
Suddenly he moves around the table so that he is standing right in front of you and then he gets down on one knee and you let out a small gasp. Louis smiles at you a little cheekily and you feel yourself already starting to tear up.
“Y/N, you have stayed by my side and backed me up and defended me and helped me to grow through the last few years and you deserve somebody who will do their absolute best to do the same for you. I love you so much, Y/N. Will you let me be that man? Will you marry me?” He asks you as he opens up a little ring box to show you a huge diamond engagement ring and you let tears of joy roll down your cheeks as you nod your head.
“Yes, Louis. I want you to be that man. I love you more than anything.” You reply a little breathlessly and he leans up and kisses you on the lips gently and then deepens it.
“I love you.” He whispers against your lips and you can't help but smile as he slides the ring on your finger.
“Louis.” You say carefully and looks up from your hand and into your eyes. “I really can't wait to start our family together.” You smile and he smiles back at you.
“Me too, love.” He say softly.
“Good. Because we don't have to wait anymore.” You say and you see Louis's smile fade as he frowns a little in confusion. “I'm pregnant.” You say, a huge grin spreading across his face at your words.
“For real? Like 100%? You're sure? You're actually pregnant?!” He asks rapidly and you nod your head to all his questions. “I'm gunna be a dad!” He smiles looking a little dazed. “We're going to be a proper family. Me, Mrs Tomlinson and lots of little baby Tommo's.” He smiles happily.

Liam
You and Liam had never really spoken very much about having children. You saw that he would coo over your friends babies but it just wasn't a topic that the two of you had ever really had a very serious discussion about, despite the fact that you had been together for some time now.
You didn't feel like it was a conversation that you needed to have yet, because you had no reason to suspect that Liam wouldn't want to have children, it just didn't feel like something that was very high on either of your to-do lists. But here you were looking down at a little stick that was telling you that you really should have had that conversation already, because it was too late now. You were pregnant.
Suddenly the two little lines on that test make you reassess everything you thought you knew about you and Liam. You always felt that things just clicked between the two of you, that you would go on to get married and have kids together. It was an inevitability and that's why you'd never taken the time to discuss it. But now you couldn't help wondering if Liam didn't see it that way. Maybe he didn't want to have children with you. So you don't tell Liam straight away, deciding to wait until you've had time to think about it a little longer.
There was one problem... morning sickness. Although it was early in your pregnancy, you were already getting the nauseous symptom first thing in the morning. Thankfully Liam had yet to pick up on your recent avoidance of breakfast but you worried that it was only a matter of time.
As you wake up, you see that Liam is still asleep beside you and you slowly slide out of bed and head towards the bathroom as you instantly feel queasy when you wake up. You sit for awhile on the edge of the bath as you feel like you might be sick at any minute.
“Are you okay, baby?” You suddenly hear Liam ask you through the door of the bathroom.
“Err, yeah I'm fine.” You call back, hoping that you're convincing enough. After a few minutes of silence and after you realise that you don't think you're actually going to be sick you open the door and leave the bathroom.
“There's my gorgeous girl.” Liam grins happily from where he is lying on your bed. You smile softly and go and join him on the bed and snuggle close to his body. “You sure you're okay sweetheart?” He asks curiously, kissing the top of your head softly.
“Yeah. I'm great.” You smile softly, hiding that you still feel a little sick.
“Good, because I'm taking you on a date tonight.” Liam says confidently and you smile weakly back at him.
“Sounds lovely.” You reply.
By the time the evening comes around your nausea has completely passed and you feel like your usual self. Thankfully Liam didn't ask you anymore questions and accepted when you said that you were okay.
Liam wouldn't tell you where your date was going to be and so you got in the taxi feeling excited. After awhile you arrive at the bottom of The Shard and Liam smiles as he helps you out of the taxi. He holds your hand as you enter the lift and make your way up to the top.
“Wow, Li. This view is so beautiful.” You gasp as you see the city lights laid out before you.
“Not as beautiful as you.” Liam whispers, standing behind you and wrapping his arms around your waist and resting his head on your shoulder as the two of you stand and admire the view.
“Liam.” You whisper, finally building the courage to tell him that you're pregnant.
“Y/N.” Liam replies, holding your bodies so close together. “Yeah?” He adds when you don't say anything else.
“I love you.” You say, suddenly changing your mind. Liam lets go of your body gently and turns you slightly so that the two of you are facing each other.
“I love you too, Y/N.” Liam says smiling softly. “Let's make a plan.” He adds, looking a little serious and then he gets down on one knee in front of you and you feel your heart beating rapidly. “In ten years time, we'll tell our children the story of how I proposed to you.” Liam says as he opens up the ring box in his hand and shows you a gorgeous ring. You feel yourself tear up as you know what Liam is about to ask you and he speaks about the two of you having children. “Y/N, I love you with all my heart, will you marry me?” He asks and you feel happy tears splash down your face.
“Yes. Yes. Yes.” You say, smiling through your tears. “I love you so much!” You exclaim as Liam slides the ring on your finger and then stands up to kiss your lips tenderly. You think about the way that Liam proposed and that he mentioned you and him having children. “Liam.” You say as he holds you in his arms. “We can tell one of them that they were there.” You whisper and you watch as he looks at you confused. You see the moment when it makes sense to him.
“You're pregnant?!” He asks excitedly and you nod your head in response. “That's the best news ever! I love you so much... and this little one too.” He adds, placing a hand on your tummy.

Niall
Niall was two weeks away from being done with tour and coming home when you found out that you were pregnant. You were already looking forward to seeing him, but now you couldn't wait! Mostly because you loved having him around, but also because you really wanted to share the news with him. Just three weeks before you had been to visit him whilst he was still touring and now you had a positive pregnancy test in your hands.
Of course you wanted to tell him straight away, but it didn't feel right to just let him know over the phone. You wanted to be there to see his face and to snuggle up together as you spoke about all your hopes and dreams for the future.
Thankfully the weeks past by pretty quickly and today was the day that Niall would be arriving home. You pace around the front room as you wait for him. Eventually you hear the front door open and you rush towards him and throw your arms around him holding him tight.
“Hey princess, it's good to see you too.” He chuckles as he pulls you into a warm embrace and kisses your forehead.
“I've missed you!” You smile sweetly.
“It's only been like a month.” He says, chuckling again. “But I missed you too. I always do.” He smiles and you nod. You're just about to tell him your news when he yawns loudly. “Sorry sweetheart, I'm a little tired from the travelling. Mind if I take a nap?” He asks, hoping that you won't be too annoyed.
“Not at all.” You smile sweetly. “So long as I can come and join you?” You ask him and he places a tender kiss on your lips. “Of course you can, love. And tonight we can catch up on our date.” He grins.
“Sounds like a great idea.” You smile happily and follow Niall up to your bedroom where you both curl up and snuggle together on your bed as you nap together.
After waking up you decide that you can tell Niall your news when you are on the date together. You're pretty certain that Niall is going to be overjoyed by the news as although you weren't exactly trying for a baby, starting a family together was something you had talked about many times. But you still wanted to tell him at the perfect moment so that you would have a wonderful memory to look back on together.
The two of you chat casually about what you've missed out on whilst apart as Niall drives you to where you're going on your date, something that he has decided to keep a secret from you. Of course you struggle to come up with things to say to him as you're desperate to let him know that what he's missed out on while he was away is you finding out that you're pregnant.
Niall takes your hand after parking the car and walks with you to St Paul's Cathedral. It was where Niall had taken you on your first date. He knew that you loved the beautiful architecture of the building. It looks beautiful as the blossom trees have bloomed and Niall squeezes your hand gently as he leads you inside. You walk the steps up to the Whispering Gallery which Niall has somehow managed to ensure you have private use of. The two of you stand and look down on the cathedral admiring it.
“It's so nice to be back here... Where our story together begins.” He says, leaning in to peck you gently on the lips.
You nod in agreement and the two of you talk for awhile, reminiscing about your first date together and how nervous you both were. After awhile you both fall silent and continue to admire the view.
“Y/N.” Niall whispers in your ear and you turn to look at him. “When I brought you here on our first date I knew that one day I would have to bring you back here.” He says, as he slowly gets down on one knee in front of you. “Because I knew then that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you. I promise to love you for eternity if you let me... Will you marry me?” He asks as he pulls a ring box from his pocket and opens it for you.
“Yes! I love you too!” You smile a little tearfully as you kneel down next to him and wrap your arms around his neck and pull him in to kiss your lips. You separate your fiery kiss as you can feel your cheeks moisten and you open your eyes to see that Niall has tears of joys splashing down his cheeks. “You softy.” You giggle as Niall pulls away gently and a little shakily puts the ring on your finger.
“I'm just so happy you want to marry me.” Niall says, grinning goofily at you. You smile softly and give Niall a moment to recover as you wrap your arms around him for a warm embrace.
“You're going to make the best husband to me, Niall.” You tell him and he smiles happily. “And the best father to this little one.” You add taking hold of his hand and placing it gently on your tummy. You see his face fall as he takes in what you just said.
“No way!” He exclaims and you nod your head. Fresh tears slip down Niall's cheeks. “I'm going to be a dad too?” He says a little choked and you smile at him as you start to cry joyful tears too. “Y/N, I didn't think I could get any happier. But somehow I just did.” He smiles.

Zayn
Right in the middle of Zayn releasing his new album, being busy with promo for it and planning a world tour was probably not the best time for you to discover that you were pregnant with his baby. Although your immediate reaction was one of joy very quickly you felt a pang of anxiety. The two of you hadn't exactly planned on having a baby right now, what if Zayn decided he didn't want it?
You worry that Zayn may want to focus all his energy and attention on successfully launching his solo career as he has already put so much hard work into it, and so you don't tell him straight away. Instead you plan to tell him once some of the excitement has died down a little bit. You're sure that in a few weeks time the phone won't constantly be ringing with offers for Zayn to attend every talk show on the planet.
You sit on the sofa snuggled up with Zayn who is lazily scrolling through his Twitter, reading people's reactions to his new songs. You watch his face as he smiles really genuinely and you love how happy sharing his own music with the world has made Zayn.
“Maybe we should celebrate your success?” You ask, smiling up at him and he looks down at you with a big grin on his face.
“That's a lovely idea. I was going to ask you to lunch actually.” Zayn says smiling and leaning down to kiss the tip of your nose softly. “Just the two of us and I'll switch my phone off too.” He adds and you smile happily.
“That sounds amazing.” You nod.
“Perfect!” He grins. “Well, what are we waiting for?” He asks and you are surprised at how spontaneous his request seems to be.
Minutes later the two of you are in his car and he is driving you to a secret location that he won't tell you. As you arrive and Zayn parks his car and opens the boot, pulling out a large picnic hamper. Suddenly you realise that perhaps his offer of lunch was not as spontaneous as it first seemed.
Zayn holds you hand and the two of you walk together into the grounds of Eltham Palace. You take a moment to take in your surroundings as you are in such a lovely place. Zayn behaves like the perfect gentleman, as always, as he lays out a blanket for you and holds your hand as you sit down and get comfortable. You think that now would be a brilliant opportunity to tell him your news, the two of you alone and happy together.
Zayn opens the picnic hamper and starts to offer you a huge variety of different foods. You giggle as the two of you feast together, feeding one another bites of things that taste delicious. You sigh contentedly as you finish off a delicious slice of chocolate cake together.
“You know, I really love you Zayn.” You say quietly as you look down at your lap and try to build enough courage to tell him that you're pregnant with his child. You don't dare look up just yet and into his eyes. “I've got something that I should tell you.” You say quietly and when you finally drag your eyes away from you lap and look up you see that Zayn is down on one knee in front of you holding out a ring box.
“Y/N. You're my inspiration, my motivation, my muse. You're my everything and I don't want to ever have to live without you. I love you with everything that I have and I want to always be your number one fan, like you're mine. Will you marry me?” Zayn asks you, looking deep into your eyes and you are suddenly speechless. Zayn pauses for a moment and you're sure you see a flicker of worry cross his face.
“Yes.” You eventually say a little breathlessly as you are in complete shock. “I love you so much, Z. You're my world.” You smile before leaning in to kiss his lips as he gently slides the ring on your finger.
Zayn pulls you in for a tender kiss on the lips that you both deepen and in the moment you completely forget that you had news to tell Zayn. After awhile of kissing each other over and over again Zayn pulls away.
“You had something to tell me?” He asks you cautiously and you look him in the eyes a grin spreading across your face.
“I'm pregnant!” You exclaim and now it is Zayn's turn to be shocked, but his expression of amazement quickly turns into one of happiness.
“You're pregnant? We're going to have a baby?” He says, double checking he heard you right. You nod softly and he grins so happily. “Y/N, I'm sure that I must actually be the happiest man alive right now.” He says chuckling slightly and pulling you closer to his body so that he can kiss your lips.
“You've made me the happiest woman.” You reply and Zayn grins happily. “I just hope we can make this little one the happiest baby!” You add, resting a hand on your tummy.
“Oh, I've no doubt that we will.” Zayn replies, also resting a hand on your stomach.
Thank you anon for the request! I hope that you like it :)
“Sometimes it feels like I'm dating all of your friends too, not just you.” You sigh at Harry as he has just informed you, yet again, that he was planning on you meeting up with some friends of his for lunch.
“They're our friends.” Harry replies, not really taking you seriously.
“They're your friends.” You reply. “Sure, I get on with them. But they're LA people, Harry, you know I don't have that much in common with them.” You explain, feeling a little annoyed.
“Come on, it's not that bad.” He says, brushing your concerns off.
“When was the last time me and you did something together... Just the two of us?” You ask him and you watch as he pauses and tries to think. “Exactly!” You exclaim, when a whole minute later he still hasn't named the time.
“That's beside the point.” He says. “I love spending time with them. They don't nag me. They're actually fun to be around.” Harry adds and then instantly regrets it.
You stay silent for a moment as you gather your thoughts. You hadn't meant your comments as an attack on his friends at all. You were trying to tell him that you loved to spend time with him, and that you missed it. Maybe it hadn't come out like that, but you knew it definitely hadn't called for his harsh comments in response.
All of his friends were nice people, but you were getting a little tired of never getting Harry to yourself. When the two of you had first got together you spent a lot of your time just the two of you, and you loved it. Being with Harry was one of your favourite things, it was the easiest thing. He was your favourite person, he made you feel so happy. You could go from talking about philosophy to listing all the practical uses of a paper clip in just a few minutes. Harry was wonderful, but his comments had genuinely hurt you.
“Fine. If I'm so boring to be with, you won't mind if I don't join you guys for lunch today.” You snap and then you leave the room.
“Y/N, wait.” He calls after you, knowing that he should never have said it. “Y/N, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it. Please come to lunch.” He pleads with you as he follows you, giving you his best puppy dog eyes but you ignore him. He sighs dramatically. “Are you really going to just ignore me?” He asks you and you respond by ignoring him. “Great. We're back at secondary school!” He groans.
You just turn away slightly, sitting down in an armchair and looking down at a magazine you've just grabbed from the coffee table. Harry slumps down in the chair opposite you and out of the corner of your eye you can tell that he is watching you intently. He sits back on the chair, placing a hand on his chin and concentrating on you.
“What do you call a fake noodle?” Harry suddenly asks and you have to try very hard not to roll your eyes as you know this is one of Harry's terrible jokes. “An impasta!” He exclaims, chuckling at his own joke softly. It takes a lot of your strength to not laugh. Harry's jokes were always terrible, but you could never help joining Harry in chuckling at them. The way that he chuckled at his own jokes and how happy he looked when you laughed too was enough to make you giggle.
After five minutes of you not responding to him at all he sighs loudly and stands up and leaves the room. You listen carefully to what he is doing but a few moments later you just hear the front door slam shut and you feel even more hurt that he has decided to just leave you and go out.
You know that giving him the silent treatment is a petty way to deal with the situation, but you wanted him to know that his comments had upset you. You stay sat in the same seat, thinking over what Harry said to you. He said that he didn't mean it, but you can't help but think that it must have come from somewhere.
You manage to keep your mind occupied by reading a book for the next few hours until you hear Harry's car pulling up in the driveway. You prepare yourself for continuing to give him the silent treatment. He wanders into the room and surveys you carefully as if trying to suss whether he's still in trouble or not. When you don't look up to him at all he can tell that he still is. He sits down in the seat opposite you again and leans back casually.
“You're really really beautiful, Y/N.” He says slowly and you feel butterflies in your tummy at his words and you try to make sure you don't smile even though you want to.
Instead of asking you to talk to him or apologising again, Harry spends the next ten minutes giving you little comments that progressively get more romantic until he eventually says, “your eyes twinkle with this little glint that only you have and I love you.” But you remain stoic and don't react at all.
“Y/N! You're driving me crazy. Please just talk to me, okay? I'm sorry. You know that I didn't mean it. I love you so much, sunshine.” He says pleading. After another few moments of silence he sighs again. “Do you want me to get down on my knees and beg?” He asks you seriously and you can't help but let your mouth twitch into a subtle smirk at the thought of it.
Harry suddenly grins as he notices your little smirk and you finally look up at him as he stands up in front of you and then slowly gets down on his knees and laces his fingers together holding his hands out to you.
“Y/N, I am begging you to talk to me. I love you so much and I said some really stupid things and I shouldn't have gone out without you and your forgiveness. I just love you so much and I need you to talk to me again. I miss your voice.” His says giving you his sweetest and most genuine puppy dog eyes and you can't help but smile softly.
“You better be sorry, Styles.” You say calmly. “Just because you don't find me fun to be with, doesn't mean somebody else won't.” You tell him warningly.
“I know, love. I do find you fun to be with. I love being with you, Y/N. I'm so sorry that I was so childish.” He says, reaching out and taking hold of your hands.
“It's okay. I forgive you.” You say, smiling softly at him.
“Good! I was actually worrying I might never hear that beautiful voice again.” He says, grinning back at you.
“It was kind of sexy when you begged me though, so I might give you the silent treatment more often.” You say giggling.
“Oh yeah?” He asks you, smirking and pulling you gently towards his body until you're pressed against each other. “Well I can think of a couple of things that me and you can do, just the two of us, that might make it a little difficult for you to stay silent.” He threatens you huskily.
“Oh really? Is that a challenge?” You ask him, biting your lip gently.
“Mhmm. And I'm gunna win.” He smirks as he starts to kiss and nibble at your neck.
“Oh, it's on.” You giggle as you pull him by the hands towards your bedroom.
Trigger warning: mentions of an abusive relationship/boyfriend (NOT LOUIS), no descriptions of violence.
This follows the request a little loosely. Basically just Louis being a complete sweetheart. So many Louis feels! <3 I really hope you all like it!
Almost 3,000 words.
Rain splatters against your cheeks as you struggle to hoist your heavy bags onto your shoulders. You aren't even sure where you are going but you walk forwards, leaving behind the shelter of the brightly lit Underground station and moving into the dark. The streets are lit by street lamps and the moonlight but darkness is still present. You struggle on through the rain, until your bags weigh too heavily on your shoulders and the warm glow of light from the windows of a nearby pub calls to you.
You push open the doors and shuffle inside, immediately making your way to the bar. The pub is instantly comforting. There is an open fire in the corner with some comfy looking armchairs and very quietly in the background you can hear the subtle blues and jazz undertones of Norah Jones.
“Can I help you?” The barman asks, as he stands up from where he was propped on a barstool flicking through a comic book. He looks at you with deep brown eyes and a welcoming smile.
“Rum, please. Double.” You say, pushing your hood off your head and dumping your bags on the floor as you hoist yourself up onto a bar stool. His eyes wander over your face and down, taking in your appearance carefully, before he turns around to get the drink for you.
“Four pounds sixty, please.” He says as he places the glass in front of you. You pull your purse out from your bag and open it to find that it is a little on the empty side. You tip it upside down and let the coins clatter onto the bar. The barman watches you curiously as you start to silently count your money.
“I'm sorry, I'm sure I have it.” You mumble as you start to add up your twenty and ten pence pieces. Before you have time to get the money together you see a young man stand up from an arm chair near the fireside. Upon entering the pub you had noticed that it had a few occupants but you hadn't paid much attention to any of them.
“I've got this, Liam.” The young man says, handing the man behind the bar a ten pound note. “And I'll have another pint of Meantime.” He adds and Liam nods in response.
“Erm, thanks.” You mumble scraping your money back into your purse. As you look up at the man's face for the first time you are immediately struck by how beautiful his blue eyes are.
Before either of you say anything else, you pick up your glass of rum and bring it to your lips downing it as quickly as possible. You miss the looks of confusion that Liam, the barman, and the man that purchased your drink give each other as Liam places the pint glass on the bar.
You pull your phone out of your pocket and see that you have seventeen missed and countless text messages from Dave. It had rung a lot when you first left the house but in the last half an hour or so your phone hadn't made a sound. You put it away again, not wanting to read his grovelling messages or listen to the pathetic voicemail he has undoubtedly left for you.
“I'm Louis, by the way.” The man next to you says, offering you his hand and letting his eyes gaze over your face slowly as you turn to face him.
“Y/N.” You reply, taking his hand and shaking it softly. You notice that his eyes linger, longer than you would ordinarily expect them to, on your left cheek bone. It occurs to you that there might already be visible bruising there. His eyes also pause on your lips that are a little puffier than normal, with a small split to the top lip that has clearly been bleeding recently.
Louis has never been very good at talking to or dealing with women, at least he never saw himself as one of those guys that was good at that kind of thing. Despite having grown up in a house full of sisters, he had never quite managed to decode them and make sense of their emotions and so he didn't know what to say to you.
He watches as Liam goes back to sitting on his stool and flicking through his comic book, occasionally glancing up at where you and Louis were sat in silence. After the third time of him looking up, Liam stares at Louis meaningfully and nods towards you as subtly as possible.
“Are you okay?” Louis suddenly asks you, concern written all over his face as you turn to look at him.
“I'm fine.” You whisper, looking down at your bags and wishing that you could believe your own lie.
The truth of the matter was that you were most definitely not fine. You were leaving behind the only place you had left to call home, even though you resented calling it home. Living with your abusive boyfriend was definitely not your idea of home and after a year of putting up with his aggressive ways you had finally built up the courage to leave. Now you were out on your own, with no place to go and the thought of that terrified you. But the thought of going back scared you even more.
“Actually no.” You suddenly say, dragging yourself out of your own thoughts and looking Louis right in his pretty blue eyes. “I'm not okay.” You whisper. You're not really sure why you're telling him, it was probably something about the way the pub made you feel at ease and the way those blue eyes showed genuine concern. Louis didn't need to hear another word come out of your mouth.
“Liam, we're going to need some hot chocolate and biscuits.” Louis announces, standing off his stool and bending down to pick up your bags. “Come and sit on one of these comfy chairs by the fire, love.” He says, nodding towards the corner where he was sat before he came and paid for your drink.
You follow him over and watch as he puts your bags down beside a chair and gestures for you to sit down in it. You take a seat and relax your body completely for the first time in a long while. You get more of an opportunity to take in his appearance and you notice that he is a cuddly looking guy and not all that tall. His brown hair looks feathery and he has a soft fringe swept to the side. His clothes look incredibly comfortable, black Adidas tracksuit bottoms and a knitted jumper.
“You make yourself at home, love.” He says softly. “Liam's a good friend of mine. You get as comfy as you need to.” Louis adds, going into full on caring mode. He was never very good at acknowledging this side of himself, but it was a side that he had little control over. If somebody was in need, Louis couldn't stop himself from trying to help them.
As you watch Louis approache the bar again you pull off your jacket and kick off your boots, curling your feet up underneath you. He comes back a few minutes later with a steaming mug of hot chocolate and a plate of biscuits. You reach out and grab one of the biscuits as soon as Louis puts the plate on the small table in front of you. He smiles softly at you and gets himself comfortable in the closest armchair.
You're not really sure what to say to him as you sip slowly on your mug of hot chocolate, it's not very easy to start a conversation of small talk once you've just told a person that you're not okay. You knew that you should probably explain what you meant when you told him that, but you were really thankful for the fact that he hadn't asked you. It felt like if you didn't mention it ever again, neither would he. Like he was waiting for you to be ready to talk and that made it a lot easier to do.
“I'm running away.” You mumble quietly, but it's loud enough for Louis to hear you. Although he's sat in a separate armchair the pub is small and so they're pretty close together. He looks at you as you talk and you can tell that he's listening. “Only, I don't have anywhere to run away to.” You add, looking down and fiddling with the fraying edge of the armchair's cushion.
Louis desperately wants to ask you what you're running away from, because he already has an overwhelming desire to protect you. He knows that it's probably a better idea to wait for you to confide in him, rather than interrogating you. He looks over your face, at your bruised cheekbone and your fat lip. He has some ideas of what you're running away from, although he hopes desperately that he's wrong because it involves someone hurting you and he doesn't want to believe anyone could do such a thing to such a vulnerable looking girl.
“Do you know if there's any like hostels around here?” You ask him and he shakes his head softly.
“Sorry, I don't. But Liam has some rooms upstairs here, I don't think he's full tonight.” Louis explains.
“Oh, I'm not sure I could affor-” You start to explain, your cheeks blushing.
“It's on me. Like I said, he's a good friend and I could call in a few favours.” He smiles softly at you.
“I couldn't. You've been too kind already.” You say, not wanting to feel like a burden on this beautiful man.
“I want to help you, love.” Louis says sincerely and you feel your heart skip a beat. You're not sure if it's because you're enjoying the way he calls you 'love' or if it's because his genuine desire to help you fills you with hope.
Before you have a chance to deny him again he gets up and heads to the bar. You watch as Liam looks over at you and then back at Louis and then nods. You see a smile of genuine happiness spread across Louis's face as he takes a set of keys off Liam with one hand and shakes his hand with the other. He doesn't need to say anything as he approaches you with the keys in his hand. You stand up and go to pick up your bags but he quickly bends down and picks them up for you and hoists them onto his shoulder effortlessly.
Louis leads the way as the two of you climb a small staircase behind the bar. The comfortable and cosy feeling of the pub continues upstairs and into the fairly small room that Louis unlocks for you. He places your bags on the floor and you collapse backwards on the bed. Louis smiles and lets out a breathy chuckle at your action and you let out a soft giggle.
Louis feels his chest tighten slightly at the sound of your little giggle. It's a feeling he's never felt before, seeing even just a little tiny bit of happiness in you is like a force he wonders if scientists are still looking for. He is quickly snapped from his own thoughts by a knock on the door. He turns to open it and sees Liam there with a tray that has another couple of mugs of hot chocolate on and some more biscuits.
“Thanks.” Louis smiles softly at him.
“Thanks, Liam.” You say, from where you are still laying back on the bed.
“You're welcome ma'am.” He says sweetly, before he heads back downstairs.
You sit up on the bed to make room for Louis to join you, but he moves towards a small wooden chair in the corner of the room, not wanting you to feel uncomfortable with him being so close to you. But something about Louis feels trustworthy, you don't feel that he's a threat to you at all.
“Come and sit here.” You say, patting the bed and nodding assuredly when he looks at you a little questioningly.
“Thanks.” He smiles softly as he comes and sits next to you on the bed. “I'll leave you alone, in a bit.” He explains, looking down at his hands and you can tell that he's a little nervous and you wonder how a man so gorgeous could be nervous around a girl like you.
“It's okay. I like the company.” You say softly and he looks up and smiles at you.
The two of you sit on the little bed chatting as you drink your hot chocolate and nibble on a few more biscuits. The conversation is a little awkward as you both know that there's an elephant in the tiny room with you, but it is light and flows fairly easy. Suddenly, you hear your phone ring loudly through the little room, the first sound it has made in a long time.
Louis watches as you stare somewhat nervously at your jacket pocket where the sound is coming from. He notices that you now look very on edge and no longer as relaxed as you were just moments before. He waits in silence while you also wait until the phone stops ringing. The worry that is now etched on your face makes Louis's chest ache slightly. He wants desperately to take away all of your worries. He reaches out and gently goes to place a hand on your shoulder, wanting to show you that he cares, but you flinch away from his touch suddenly. Louis quickly withdraws his hand, cursing himself for thinking that it would be appropriate to try and touch you this way.
“S-Sorry.” You stutter quickly.
“No, I'm sorry, love.” Louis replies just as fast. You look away from your jacket pocket and towards Louis and you smile weakly at him.
“Thank you. For taking care of me.” You whisper. “I never knew anybody could be so kind to someone they don't know.” You add as he looks at you with worry on his face.
“It's okay, love. You looked like you deserved to have someone take care of you.” Louis answers honestly and he feels his cheeks heat up slightly.
Without being able to stop yourself, tears suddenly flood down your cheeks and you start to cry. Louis mentally curses at himself for being so terrible at dealing with girls. He thought that would be a nice thing to say, but now he is reconsidering. He definitely didn't want to see you crying.
Watching you cry, just sitting there helplessly next to you on the bed, is too much for Louis to handle and so he leans closer to you and wraps his arms around you as gently as he can. To his surprise you reciprocate the action and wrap your arms around his waist, burying your head in the crook of his neck and crying softly.
“It's okay, Y/N.” He whispers softly, breathing in the sweet scent of your hair. “I'm here to take care of you now.” Louis whispers, very gently kissing the top of your head.
After some time of you crying on his shoulder and Louis just holding you closely, rubbing soft circles on your back, you pull away from him and look into his eyes. He looks back into your, now rather bloodshot, eyes and gently reaches up and brushes away a few stray tears with his thumb.
“Did he do this to you?” Louis asks tentatively, looking at the bruising on your cheekbone and your cut lip. He was pretty certain that it was a 'he' you were running away from and he was sure he knew why. You just nod your head softly blinking back tears and you see Louis swallow hard. He was furious, but he knew that the last thing you would want right now is to see someone angry or aggressive. “Are you hurt anywhere else?” Louis questions quietly.
“Not this time.” You whisper in response and you see Louis flex his hand. He struggles to keep the anger that is building inside him. He knows that if he wasn't so overcome with the need to protect and care for you that he probably would have already tracked down the bastard that hurt you and knocked him into next week.
“I'm so sorry.” Is all that Louis can think to say. “I'm so sorry that anybody has ever hurt you. You don't deserve to have been hurt.” Louis adds, gently tucking a strand of hair behind your ear for you. “But you don't have to be afraid anymore. I'm going to make sure that nobody can ever hurt you again, I promise.” He tells you, pulling you back into a gentle but firm embrace.
You sniffle softly, feeling a little emotional at how wonderfully Louis is treating you. You snuggle into his embrace gratefully, loving how safe you feel in his arms. Louis holds you close to him, loving how it feels so right to be holding you.
Before tonight he would have told anyone that you couldn't fall in love with someone so quickly, but meeting you has suddenly changed his mind. And if anyone had asked you if it were possible to instantly feel at home somewhere you would have told them that it definitely was not, but meeting Louis has suddenly changed your mind.
Because now you know that it wouldn't matter where you were, just so long as you were in Louis's arms, he'd make it feel like home.
