Thank you for the compliment. Tbh, though, I'm really not. I just did some reading this year that helped. For a small list of recommendations: Trans Male Privilege (the title is a clickbait title, I don't want that to discourage anyone from reading it), and Transfag Comphet by The Trans Dandy. The Third Sex, Degendering and Regendering, Degendering and Racialization and The Question Has an Answer by Talia Bhatt. (Whose entire Trans/Rad/Fem substack I read, in chronological order, back when I first decided to give transfeminism One Last Shot, and whose work is honestly not that scary. Not even a little scary, really. It helped me a lot.) Detrans Women v. Trans Men, Or: The Sanity Of Sex Change by Dolphin Diaries (whose work is also not scary, and is pro-trans, pro-autonomy, and this essay displays how we've all been cast as crabs in a bucket, forced to pull each other back in in an abysmal attempt to get out of the bucket). Again, these essays are essays I've found personally helpful in trying to detangle my own thoughts/feelings from the Tumblr Miasma of How The World Works. I guess I could say "Read Whipping Girl!" but I honestly haven't finished it, and it's a book from 2007 that - while important - was borne in a very specific context, and is not the trans bible (I don't think any essay or book should ever be taken as 'the trans bible,' no matter how useful or historically important they are). Julia Serano, however, is a real alive woman who still exists in 2026 and as such is still alive and has evolving opinions on account of being alive, and she has a substack of her own that I've yet to fully explore -- but you can, if you want to. I also know that transmasculine author Jude Doyle has a book called DILF ("Did I Leave Feminism?") out -- one I have not read but have heard good things about, so again -- I invite you to explore what he has to say. I think, really, we have to explore what in the world people are talking about. It's only by learning that we can acquire the knowledge we need to actually have language to explain the world we live in. What helped me make posts like the blueberry vape one was reading transfeminist theory that exists outside of the confines of tumblr (also talking to my trans friends who have a lot more experience in participating in real life trans community/organizing).

scorpion is the daughter of dune (one of the chiefs advisors) and thorn (a local blacksmith). scorpion has always been held by high standereds by her mother, everything scorpion does is either not good enough or almost good enough by her moms standards. her dad just wants what's best for his daughter and tends to go along with what dune decides. dune wasn't pleased at all when she learned her daughter became friends with a hybrid (aka kiki) she urged scorpion to drop her group of friends, but scorpion didn't listen because she was tired of her mother controlling her life.

tempest is the daughter of Cordelia (a tailor) and Caspian (a soilder). tempest is very close with her grandfather kai (the tribe chief). when kai isn't dealing with the tribes problems or with the other leaders, he and tempest like to go on little adventures together. when kai herd about tempest becoming friends with an outsider and hybrid (kiki) he was actually quite supportive about their friendship, to the shock of the sea lupins. (Kai is one of the few lupins who is actually accepting of hybrids and outsiders)

ren is the son of lumi (a hunter) and storm (a builder). ren was raised in the high mountains on luperia with his siblings (he has 4 siblings). he was basically his siblings parental figure since his parents were always busy. the first time ren met scorpion and tempest, was when he was sent with the chief to learn about the other tribes. ren had never been anywhere other than his village before so he was pretty excited about this. when he first met scorpion and tempest he was fascinated about their lives and where they came from. ever since that meeting they've been friends for years. when he first met kiki he was very suspicious and wary of her but after a while he eventually came around.
