Lapis is my fave and I also don't understand why people are hating on her for leaving, like so much crap happened to her on earth and people are throwing all that away and calling her selfish, like she was emotionally broken on earth by being poofed, imprisoned, freed, imprisoned again, forced into an abusive fusion, trapped under water to control jasper for a long time which led to emotional trauma, freed again and forced herself to live with a gem she (used to)hate, guys give her a break

I really despise the character Lapis Lazuli because of my ex especially.... they tried so hard to be this character and I questioned if I even loved a real person or just a copy of a cartoon??

it was really annoying because they never said anything about PTSD until they became Lapis and self diagnosed themselves with it. They were gonna dye their hair blue and everything and just try to seriously BE this character and it made me so uncomfortable :) the character hurts and abuses people (like my ex) and has never even apologized for their wrongdoings and gets treated like a saint

hey man, if you’re ace and going to pride, please be respectful, this was a space specifically created for free sexual expression and embracing the sexuality normally shamed and denied to us by social norms and government apparatus

Shaming sex in this space or bringing signs along the lines of ‘proud of being sex-free’ is highly tone deaf to the history of gay, trans, and bi spaces that are meant to help us feel proud and specifically un-shamed for our sexuality

let people be proud of their asexuality. being proud of their sex free life is the same expression of lgbt pride as saying proud of being gay or trans.

it’s literally not the same thing. lgbt people have been arrested, assaulted, and killed for being gay/trans. we have had a huge health crisis ignored by the government so that we could die in the streets. when we celebrate pride, we celebrate surviving all that. aces coming in with their “cake not sex!” signs is so fucking disrespectful to what pride is. if someone’s a gay ace/trans ace/bi ace/etc, they’re welcome in pride, but “ace pride” is in NO WAY the same fucking thing as lgbt pride.
