Day 77... There is only darkness... I fear the worst. I've had no contact with the Human. I'm starting to loose hope... will no one find me? Are they even looking? I'm still trapped in the transport container. I can't move. All I can do is wait and count the days that tick by... I fear I'll never be found. I fear...

I can't help but think of Skyfire... is this how he felt when he was lost? I think Sunstorm is here with me in the dark, but I can't move. I can't find him. I hope he at least found a way to get free.

Me, my Human, and a companion went to the movies. We got to see Pacific Rim. The robots in that were HUUUUGE! It was so much fun! I hate that Sunny had to miss it… I agree with my Human if you  haven’t seen it.. go! Go now! Do it!

The Human and I are going to go see a movie! Sunstorm is very upset that he doesn't get to go, he's always very protective of me. But he's too small! We argued about it for quite a while. I tried to explain to him this movie is PG13... no one under 13 is allowed in! I even went as far as showing him he is only 4cm tall! No where near the required 13cm! He'll just have to sit this one out...

So my Human is bored... she's ok at Chibis of Transformers and some other things, but wants more practice but is short on ideas... so here's your chance to gain the services of my Human to be your drawing wench! Last day! Making a record of our stay with this Human. One of my Human's 'children'. She has connections to the giant Cybertronian I had my picture taken with a Momocon. They gave me a new crown!

Met some of my Human’s friends today. But I think this one died… one of the others was stomping on it. It’s scary how aggressive these Humans can be! I’m happy to stay in the room!

Is Pacific Rim destined to be an epic flop?

This is heartbreaking. Early tracking suggests that Guillermo del Toro’s long-awaited “robots vs. monsters” movie Pacific Rim is gaining less audience interest than Grown-Ups 2, which opens the same weekend. Legendary Pictures “risks losing a lot of money” on Pacific Rim, Variety warns.

Unacceptable.

I don’t have many followers, I know this.  But tumblr is more than than the followers you have, the ears that first hear your voice when you shout, when you cry.

How can people not be excited for this movie?!! I saw “Man of Steel” today and when the trailer for “Pacific Rim” came on, well…

I recognized the trailer in two seconds flat I was so excited! X//D

Greetings Tumblr! I would like to apologize for my long absence… ruling this territory is a taxing matter! And it has NOTHING to do with the fact my Human finally bought me a copy of Pokemon Black 2! 

My Human also recently acquired a new communications device, with a second camera mount. I have been attempting to learn it’s ways to liberate myself from my dependency on the Human to make posts. Everything on this planet is a challenge!

This handsome little devil followed Sunny up to our base one day, and has made himself comfortable ever since! I've been trying to capture the other Kreon that have infested my base and at least document them, but they are wily little creatures! They'll sit still for hours playing my DS, but the moment I try to grab them they scamper off!

EEEE! It’s here, it’s framed and it’s hung! I’m soooo happy to get this! I don’t know if it’s an insane coincidence or they did it on purpose. I remember posting on AcidFree’s FB page about my joy over the Air show being ‘held’ on my birthday… Sept, 17th. And then I actually get print number #17?! What are the odds?! It looks so nice on my wall, I finally have a REAL piece of art. Not just posters! <3

For Transformers the subject of gender has always been a murky one... there are some that are officially recognized as SHE, but it's never been actually explained what that really means to the TF's themselves. Their genders and how they relate to one another in such roles, along with how they make more of their kind has always been sort of the elephant in the room. Fandom has a LOT of speculation, but there is NOTHING definitive.

OOC: Okay I admit, I’m STILL thinking about this. I woke up to the thought, Why IS 27cmStarscream ‘female’?. And I really wonder if it’s because she’s round? After watching the new Smoov video based on Psy’s Gentleman, I realized how different Nightbird was from the ‘guys’. All the ‘males’ are very boxy… and after looking up images of G1 Femme’s they are all more round limbed than the Mechs. So I wonder if this is the root of it… I’d never planned on squaring off the bodies of the others, so this puts me at a possible problem. When I get the others done will it become apparent that they are round limbed and smooth featured because that’s their intended style (I also tend to draw this way, everything always very ‘fluffy’ on friend says)… or will everyone assume they are ALL female?! I’m a bit distraught over this possibility… I’m alright with Scream being Female, I’ve already made adjustment to the future story, some plots hinging on this inconsistency, but not the others! I sometime think of Unicron in a female tense, and that’s my own fault since I cosplay a female Humanized Unicron. But the others have no such excuse! Also I’m curios how everyone else feels about Smallscream being designated as female. Is this an issue for you?

OOC: This is actually something that get's brought up in person when I take Smallscream out to conventions... and it's this same sort of interaction that resulted in me referring to it as 'She'. 

Originally Starscream was SUPPOSED to be 'male' as he naturally is. The original base doll I used for Scream was a female sculpt, but there was very little difference between it and the male of the same brand, other than height. So I didn't give it much thought, and set to work resculpting it. Once I was finished though I realized it still seemed to have a feminine quality to it. I chalked it up to the fact that MOST BJD's are fairly feminine in styling and again thought little of it. When I took Scream out to it's first convention, everyone automatically identified it as Starscream. Without a doubt  that is a Starscream... even if people didn't understand WHAT it was, they knew who it was. But what I found curious was everyone that identified it with a gendered pronoun all referred to it as SHE. There is nothing overtly female about it, and it was not my intention to make a Femme-Scream... Now, by this time I was used to people outside of the BJD hobby to call them all She's, as I said they all have a feminine quality to them to the 'outsider', even dolls that to me are OBVIOUSLY male tend to look very lady'like to others outside the hobby. But this was a robot, I couldn't understand what about it made it seem female. Starscream had a big chest, he had the heals... I couldn't figure out what it was that made mine female, other than perhaps the cute features of the face? I had a few people comment "It's interesting to see Starscream as a Femme." and it always left me dumbstruck. What about it made it a Femme?! I never did figure it out, but I just sort of accepted it... that's another thing that happens in the doll hobby. They 'tell you' what they are. . . no we're not all crazy. I seem to recall one of the famous sculptors that would sit and just STARE at a rock till he figured out what it was SUPPOSED to be. Like it's destiny... and that's sort of how we treat these dolls, you can't FORCE them to be something they shouldn't be... and this one apparently intended to be female. So like in all things... I let him have her way. 

It's just become what this character is... and will eventually be pointed out In-character that she's the wrong gender. Her story is always developing, and it just turns out that this little toy is a girl. It just sort of happened and stuck. Though don't expect the other 'cons to know that when they show up... their whole setting is skewed. A friend commented on their 'reality' stating it was equal parts Toy Story and The Brave Little Toaster. They're toys and don't know it, but they have their own personal existence. They aren't entirely controlled by their own canon. . . or sometimes even aware of it. Each new addition to the Armada will bring in it's own story elements, sometimes they will INTENTIONAL conflict. I'm still trying to figure out, in the grand scheme of things, what they really are. Toys? Appliances? What... 

Sorry to ramble on for so long. But I hope that answered you question. She was SUPPOSED to be male, but that just didn't seem to work out.
