As someone who unfortunately has a fondness to Dirk

The slow build up to him warming to the reader always has me giggling lol he yearns for friendship but won't let himself give in(its gonna happen) I would like to know how that process would go in your opinion:3

Dirk is surprisingly a character I love a lot, granted I don't think there's a homestuck character is hate (except one...). I do genuinely wanna talk more about Homestuck, it's just that I find Homestuck really hard to write for. There are so many characters with all of their unique personalities, so they're a bit hard to write in distinct ways if that makes sense.

Dirk is such an interesting character to me, because within the context of my AU he craves friendship and companionship so hard that he both pushes people away and keeps them as close as possible. He does so much for the people he cares about, literally cutting his head off so he can save his friends, and he does it without a second thought. It's honestly why I kinda think Dirk is so misunderstood, because so often whenever you see talk about him it's about his relationship with Jake, which is great I love Jake x Dirk, but it kinda makes him seem like someone who doesn't care at all about Roxy or Jane, which is far from the truth.

Anyway, he craves companionship so hard that he is weary of you at first, because his first thought is that you're going to ruin the only thing that allows him some semblance of happiness. He sees his friends get close to you, form relationships with you and he is both jealous and angry, because he wants that. He wants to be effortlessly charismatic and friendly but for some reason he can't. He takes a lot of that jealously and processes it through anger, trying to convince himself that you mean harm even if it's clear you don't. He doesn't talk to you, and if he does it's never nice. None of it is intentionally done out of malice, he genuinely just wants to keep his friends safe and thinks gallivanting with you (even in an online format) is distracting from the current issues at hand.

Honestly, I sorta feel like the Act 6 characters are so hard to write, mainly because I'm not far into Act 6, so if any of this is wrong feel free to call me stupid of whatever. Dirk is a cool little guy and I'm very excited to see more of him.

no hate whatsoever because people can enjoy whatever they want fanfic wise and especially smut wise, like, this shit is self indulgent and writing OOC is not a crime, BUT if ur someone like me where an OOC character kills ur horny buzz, one thing that will always tap me out is when people write like a SUPER dom! adrian where he’s like experienced and actually “good” (by conventional standards) at dirty talk and tells the reader all what to do and stuff. i’ll accept this a little more if he’s in the whole mask and shit but if it’s adrian in civilian clothing or no clothing i’m sorry that man is begging permission for every little thing!!! that man is being told what to do and has never been more grateful!!! that man isn’t even consciously changing his inflection/syntax/tone to try and sound sexy he’s just YAPPING until he can’t form words anymore! i can also accept a sitch where it’s like a service top thing? like where his partner expresses they want him to dom and so he’ll do it cause he’ll do anything they ask BUT at the end i need to see him running in circles making puppy dog eyes saying “was that good? did i do good? tell me that was good!” because if ur not writing adrian with a praise kink i fear we didn’t watch the same show
