Brunch with a friend who came to town for the weekend.

Had a weird experience here. The hostess basically told me to come back in 45 minutes when they’re “not full” but the restaurant wasn’t empty? There might have been a reason for it but honestly not sure. It was weird.

Anywho, the food was mid. I remember being disappointed in it because ppl hype it up. Maybe it’s the dinner menu that’s good….

Red Lobster

Endless shrimp day. It was an… experience. I liked the coconut shrimp (unfortunately not pictured bc we ate it too fast) and I think the buttered shrimp. It was honestly kinda mid but it was $25/person so… not bad I guess. Just gluttonous.

The Mash

A Calgarian pizza restaurant that opened in Edmonton. It honestly was good I liked it. It’s not my favorite but I liked how different the toppings were. In the photos they look similar but one was Hawaiian and the other was a dill pickle I think. I think the dill pickle had a bit too much pickle at the time but I mean… brave? I liked the out of the box type but ya maybe flavor needed a little work.

Ceasar salad was good though.

Yunshang Rice Noodle / Tsujiri

Went here with my dad, his gf, my grandma and my bf. It was really good! The food is flavourful and seasoned nicely. The soup was interesting because it’s almost like hot pot. It’s a traditional dish but can’t remember the name of it right now.

Then for dessert we went to Tsujiri, but it is pretty mid imo. I think it’s closed down now. The matcha ice cream is good though.

PACT Coffee / Pip’s / La Bosco

A PACT day (lol) with friends! One of our friends was visiting so we went for brunch. Prior to our reservation we got a macchiato (?) at PACT coffee shop then checked out the farmers market as well.

Pip’s is a great lunch place. My friend ordered the mushroom eggs Benny as a vegetarian option and I remember it being way better than my beef stew dish. The roasted potatos are also to die for.

We then chatted at La Bosco, which was a newer cafe at the time. I remember it being good but not amazing.

Bistro Praha

Came here with my dad and his girlfriend and family. She recommended this place because she loves the beef tartare.

I can say this place is really good. I haven’t been back since honestly and that’s a shame. The lamb chop was the best and the snails were good too. Definitely a must try in Edmonton.

Flight home with Air Canada. Food was mediocre and sad honestly but could be worse. We also ended up trying the Maple Leaf lounge in Vancouver and it was bad again. Lol.

In closing of the Australian series, it was so fun reviewing these memories. And there is actually a lot of food I missed and couldn’t post because I didn’t document properly which sucks in hindsight but now I know for future.

This was one of the best trips of my life and I always want to come back to Sydney especially. So in love with that city!

For our last meal in Australia, we got to go to a beach club and had burgers and fries with family.

It was good. Not as good as here hahaha but still hits the spot. A special meal for sure, as it with shared with someone who has now passed away. I am glad we got to spend this meal together.

Another day trip into Sydney. This time it was to check out Peter’s of Kensington I believe the store was called. My mom likes looking at English tea sets and stuff. They had a lot of cool stuff and if I were to buy a set I wanted the one I took a picture of hahah. Then we went to Bondi beach mall to get those hand pulled noodles and it was so good. Especially for food court food.

Also got some boba, which was alright. And then we saw this cute Japanese bakery but my mom wasn’t too interested. Don’t think we ended up getting anything because it was expensive.

Sydney has amazing architecture.

When we got back to Gosford we ended up just staying home for a bit to rest up.

Then we went back to Chatswood, Sydney to do more shopping. We ended up trying another Vietnamese place. This one was way better than the last one we tried. And they had the lattice spring rolls. This was a good restaurant.

While doing these posts I realize how much Vietnamese food we tried. A lot.

At the end of our trip, we ended up eating at Melbourne airport. Surprisingly, Biggie Smalls has a shawarma restaurant so we tried it and it was actually so good lol. I was impressed especially for airport food.

We had to go on the plane on the runway which was cool. I also can’t remember if the washroom sign was in Sydney or Melbourne but I thought it was so creative and funny. Cute design.

This cafe was around the block to our hotel and it was so cool. Tiny inside but they fit a lot in there. It was called the Post Office. Love the concept. Not sure what we ordered. Now I know I need to document everything.

We then had dim sum, as we haven’t had that at all. It was pretty good but not amazing. Kind of normal.

Melbourne has a lot graffiti and art around the city.

Tried a Vietnamese place in Melbourne. Line was quite long and it was packed inside. We were starving bc we shopped all day. The pho was awesome from what I remember. One of the better meals in Melbourne.

This day we of course went to a new cafe to try out while we returned the car. The interior was cool but the cafe was just okay. Does the job.

We went to a different mall and tried another banh mi, trying to get the same hit from the crackling pork roll like the one from the Gold Coast but it didn’t work. Cool to see a food court Vietnamese place at the time.

We also go this rice bowl from a Japanese place but it was super mediocre. Not a good day for food this day.

Finally we make it to Phillip island. We had so much time to kill though since the penguins come out at sunset. So we went to a small bar and got a paddle. Then went to a pizzeria for a pizza. The pizza was good.

With more time still to kill but not much to do, we headed into the facility for the penguin parade and got some overpriced fries.

The penguins were so cute. We weren’t allowed to take pictures of the penguins at night.

This day was quite muggy.
