idrk how to start this post tbh LOL, i'm kinda in a state of limbo where i """have""" everything done but still have a few more assignments that i just can't bring myself to do . so instead of getting it over with and finishing the assignments, i decided today would be a perfect day to... visit the arcade!!! but before that, a challenge in The Usual Server requested me to play On And On!! in multiple rhythm games (all playable at home), so i got them out of the way starting with Phigros (where i got a phi on both Spasmodic [HD Lv.13, FINALLYYYY] and On And On!! [IN Lv.15, I did it when it was a 14!!!])... then Arcaea with a solid MAX-29 -> MAX-15 PM upscore on the FTR-9... then Muse Dash where i managed to squeeze out an FC on both the 7* and 9*!!! ...only to find out there was a hidden 11* that's like Insanely hard wtf how do you hit that what are the Levels to this game

eh whatever, i'll think about that later . today is an ARCADE DAY first and foremost, and i'm not gonna feel satisfied until i get my fill!!! concidentally, a few of my friends were also there to get their game on, and we united our SDVX twinsies plushies for group photos!!! (except mr. Grace Owner here wants his plush to decompress so it's stuck in the bag suffocating until further notice)

starting off the sesh right with MAIMAI!!! just a bunch of silly antics, playing through and sightreading certain charts like Help me, ERINNNNNN!! [MASTER Lv.13] and Ref:rain (for 7th Heaven) [EXPERT Lv.12] with no prior warmup straight into Southern Cross [Re:MASTER Lv.13+]??? absolutely no idea why i did that or why i thought it'd be a remotely good idea, but stamina-wise i was Spent by this point and only managed to get two more scores... though one of them was on the one and only, the extremely funny... Xaleid◆scopiX [EXPERT Lv.13+]!!! #WorthIt

my arms' stamina was still extremely spent so (against better judgement) i hopped onto IIDX and played a bunch of random charts (IGNORE THAT MERMAID GIRL IMAGE)... nothing to note about them #tbh

y'know what there IS to note about though??? SDVX!!! played substantially more of it with the maimai friends and got some Sweet Ass Clears if i don't say so myself!!! ...well maybe not Too sweet tbh, but since my friends were around and we had not much better to do, we started playing versus matches together and setting ridiculously funny, ridiculously intense matches!!! i got a decent few bits of VF out of it too~

and while we're at it, why not complete the BEMANI Trifecta with a little bit of DDR? i intended to play this a bit more to practice for the second round of Solstice Around The World, but i didn't realize that maimai and SDVX would leave me so spent and tired LOL... giving Sector my first few shots ended in exhaustion and semi-poor MA, but i did manage to get a Flare EX FC on the chart once i learned its gimmicks!!! didn't get much else after that though, and i actually made arrangements just before to get a ride back home with one of my maimai friends . but outside of Sector, i also managed to bag CUE CUE RESCUE [ESP-15, 27p] and Ai-shi AI sare [ESP-15, 35p] as 15 PFCs #43 and #44 respectively!!! ...already caught back up to the 14s, huh?

December 3rd, 2025 - Phigros, RoBeats!, ProSeka

dude i'm locked tf IN, no rhythm gaming the past two days?? unbelievable... but we're back in the house, for better or for worse, specifically to do a server challenge that involves playing Chronostasis in other rhythm games... and fortunately, i knew just the two rhythm games i knew how to play where the song was featured!!! phigros was an interesting pick because i was Suuuper rusty at the game, but i managed to lock in and memorize enough of the chart to get a 3-good FC i was proud of!!! as for RoBeats... it was considerably trickier and more punishing, but i pulled through and got the FC to submit!!!

oh also!! did you know tomorrow's my birthday?? you may or may not have known that, but did you also know that i share birthdays with a very cool and awesome proseka player who lives in japan and loves kyu-kurarin?? it's true!!! and so, in honor of his birthday (and while i wait for my own), i AP'ed the Master Lv.31 chart in ProSeka as Master AP #120!! watashi kyu kurarin (ignore the other score that one's not important)

September 17th, 2025 - StepManiaX, Phigros

yeeeeuup, there's that period of inactivity i was talking about :p

surprised i didn't even stop to do a challenge break, but i guess i was so invested in both the vacation spots/parks we visited (we were there all day every day LOL) and Umamusume (i won my final round in graded league group B somehow with no preparation!!! epic win!!!) that i didn't bother with rhythm games at all...

but!!! today was our final day here before we caught the flight back home at night, and there was just one more place we wanted to visit before dropping off the car and taking our haul back home... the Santa Monica Pier, of course! and in there, just where i expected it, was the glorious StepManiaX cab of beauty and souvenirs... and it had my name written all over several scores -- literally from past visits, and preemptively from this visit!!! they unfortunately aren't the best since i had suboptimal shoes and no idea where the panels were, but hey! snagged enough scores to make this session a killer (albeit short and stilted) one anyways :]

back in the car and headed for the airport, we were back in rush mode and i was unable to play anything as we rushed for our lives to pack and move everything through TSA and the like, but once we were on the flight? it was like paradise... if paradise was cramped and stuffy and had no WiFi, that is . but thankfully, i had the perfect game i wanted to play on this flight that i otherwise almost never played... Phigros!!! my long-lost cousin and bestie, oh how i missed you... (*faintly* and how rusty i've become in the process, oh my....) . it's to be expected given i have no way of looking up chart videos or learning how to perfect charts like these, but i'll make do with what i can and cherish this score anyways :] iL-Artifact [IN Lv.15] my beloved, such a good song...

December 21st, 2024 (1/3) - maimai BUDDiES PLUS, Arcaea, Phigros

yeah so... i don't think i even need to start writing the post to know this one's gonna be a massive two-parter LOL . as far as i knew, today would be the last day i'd get to play this games for the year (and for quite a while after, too . not sure when i'll get the chance again...) . it was tragic, but i knew this was on the coming up for quite a while now and had already planned out what i wanted to do in advance or this special occasion. so, ignoring the impending conclusion to this arc and deciding to make the most of it instead, let's uhhhh do just that!!! a massive session full of scores across maimai, chunithm, and the other games available here, starting of course with the maimai!!!

it's near impossible to comment on every single score of this session (also given they're all kinda bad in their own ways w, you can just look at em each individually and tell), but if i had to comment on them overall? despite how bad they are objectively, they're way better scores than i could've dreamt of getting way earlier in my time playing maimai. of course, i've barely really played maimai at all (my first time playing was earlier this year at a con, after all), but even back then the best i could manage was an A on a 10... but now i'm getting those types of scores on super complex 13s? and it feels like i'm only getting better and better at reading and understanding patterns with each session... it's a beautiful thing to witness imo, and it makes my efforts to improve in this game (which is nothing like what i've played before) feel all the more meaningful . when maimai officially comes to the US, i hope to keep that streak going and to stand tall with the greats or the most dedicated of maimai players in the near future... it's a long road ahead, but i'm building my way up piece by piece... oh right, also 10K Rating Get!!!

whew...! that was a ton of maimai, but my arms and palms are screaming for a break... i still stayed in the queue, of course, but it was getting longer and longer... which meant i could get through some of my dailies for games like arcaea and proseka!!! mainly on the arcaea side though, i did get a shocker of a score without any headphones or real audio cues... a PM on Hypnotize (ETR-9+, MAX-55) as ETR PM #13!!! ...yeahyeah, i know, not my best shiny acc at all, but i have no real way to improve it in the current setting unless i try playing with my bluetooth headphones... and because shortly after, i got this . WILD ASS SCORE on Ikazuchi [FTR-10], that being... an upscore to 1 lost??? out of nowhere??? lord almighty the GCM buff is real... but again, can't close it out in my current setting :[ maybe sometime later...

oh right, i got chuni penguin through world mode just now too!!! but i need to use as few images as possible due to the image limit, so can't include it unfortunately. just know that i got it !!!! okay!!! i'm not lying!!! i would never lie!!! totally!!!

...wellll, it was my turn in maimai once again, so let's get this show back on the road and set some (debatably) cool new records!!! once again, it's nothing to really note -- it's all just AAAs and AAs on 12+s and 13s, but even that's impressive to me!! after all, i couldn't even clear any of these at one point... but to summarize, that means progress and improvement is coming along smoothly, and that's quite a good thing!!!

phigros break!!! had to show off this chart to a friend who was obsessed with TECHNOPOLIS 2085 in ongeki and chunithm, as its phigros chart was basically a recreation of the chuni chart (sorta). ...alas, i still can't really score well on this chart, but hey!!! i managed to walk away with a 911k on this chart in the end!!! not that bad for a lap play!!

aaaand wouldya look at that, i've already hit the image limit LMFAO . alright then, last two maimai scores i can share before i hit the image limit, and they're the shockingly good ones of this session!!! both were master 11+s, sure, but one was in the form of an incredible new FC on INTERNET YAMERO [Master Lv. 11+], and the other was an upscore to an S on Seishun Complex [Master Lv. 11+]!!!

aaaand that's all for this post!!! i went through the images again to make sure they were all even able to fit in one more post and No, they weren't, i was still a good 10 images over the limit LMFAO . thus, i must correct myself in saying this was going to be a two-parter, as it was now set to be a three-parter... i apologize for the inconvenience and the feed spam, but i promise that my future posts after this weekend's posts (yes, the 22nd will be a two-parter, sorry for the inconvenience wwww)

December 15th (and 14th!), 2024 - Arcaea, Phigros, SDVX EG, WACCA Reverse, IIDX 32, GITADORA GALAXY WAVE, CHUNITHM SUN

another day, another... arcade session day? well, kinda? while i didn't have any exclusive plans to visit the arcade today, i was planning on going with my friends to the arcade for our very first meetup in what felt like ages!!! however, that meetup wasn't scheduled until the evening, so i'd have to make do with my devices until then . and that's exactly what i did in the case of arcaea, resulting in finally getting... FLUFFY FLASH (FTR-9+, MAX-37) as FTR PM #215!!!

it was a great score indeed, but the downside was that i accomplished it at ~6 AM when i had stayed up until ~2 AM the night before, meaning i really needed to catch up on my Z's after getting that score, which i did! once i woke up, i felt even more energized than i was when i got that score, but since i'd pretty much ran out of arcaea stamina... i spent it instead on phigros and catching up on my Middle Chart grind that i had abandoned a while ago!!! i got through the Rhythm Master pack's middle charts and the first four charts of Chapter 5, which ended in me unlocking Spasmodic by complete accident!! but i couldn't get a Phi on Spasmodic before my phone died, and that's when i decided i'd stop playing phigros for the day, so all i have to show for the marathon today is this Phi on Sonshin ~The Guru~ [HD Lv.11]

well, wouldya look at the time!! in between phigros and leaving for the friend meetup, i spent most of my time writing that December 14th post and all the super long, super crazy stuff that happened that day . but it was taking too long, and i needed something to engage my fingers a little more so i could stop making typos while writing the post. that led me to get an itch for playing vivid/stasis, which i then did, and i immediately proceeded to go off with this massive jump from SS to V rank on execution_program [FINALE 16] !!!

but alas! time indeed went by fast, and before i knew it i was actually Late to the meetup as opposed to being the first one there (especially given it was one of my favorite places to go...) . i grinded out my remaining arcaea stamina on the super long 20-min bus ride there, but didn't really get any notable scores on it (because . well. bus) besides progressing further in the Absolute Nihil unlocks! to the disappointment of my friends, i did indeed arrive rather late, and so the meetup probably wasn't as long as they'd hoped by a half hour... but nevertheless, i greeted my friends (including one friend that i hadn't seen since pre-covid iirc?), watched them play voltex for a bit, and then we wandered around the arcade doing whatever came to mind!!!

i'll save most of the details for my personal journal writing spree, as none of them really include anything regarding rhythm games or the like and we just caught up with what good friends we were during our middle school years :] but there was still rhythm gaming to be had in the form of SDVX plays while my friends either played SDVX as well, or just sat and chilled or gambled with the cranes at the arcade as we waited for another friend of ours to be free . gave the weekly score attack song, snow storm -euphoria- [EXH 17], a few tries that didn't really lead anywhere as i kept forgetting how to play the chart, but then when our dear friend came over for a split second... i tried Bi [MXM 18] once again to show off the Sheer Comedy of this game and managed to upscore it!!!

we went over to the above-ground section of the arcade to play the wider selection of rhythm games they had (wacca, taiko, iidx the works), and i got the idea to do some wacca/iidx versus matches with each other!!! unfortunately the local versus play on wacca didn't work, but we still had fun starting the same chart simultaneously and seeing how close the scores between my two other friends were!!! ...and as you can see below, i'm not referring to the third friend who was a decently seasoned rhythm gamer... (songs in the IIDX image: COSMIC V3LOCITY [SPH-10] and Mesmerizer [SPH-9])

and now, for a brief GITADORA spree!!! it's been so long since i played this game, but holy hell it's just as fun as i remembered... even more fun than before, actually!!! i felt like i'd gotten way better at the game recently, and that demonstrated itself in the incredible accuracy/high-level clears that i hadn't gotten before... maybe i could dedicate a little more time to this game in future sessions?? i have only really been leeching off free credits after all, except for today...

but alas! after a long while of rhythm gaming, crane game gambling, and waiting around for the fifth friend to join our pack... she was finally free!!! and we were reunited for the first time in ages!!! it was beautiful, but then we decided to make it even better via challenging each other in SDVX Megamix Battles!!! knowing the sheer gap between me and my friends (i don't even wanna sound cockyyyy i just don't think it'd be fun for them to face me with my level LOL), i stood back and watched, gave encouragement most of the time that they were playing... but one of my friends (probably the second best/most dedicated of the bunch) challenged me anyways, and as expected, i kindaaaa maaaybeeeee BLEW HIM OUT OF THE WATER LIKE HOLY HELL LMFAO . of course, i do feel kinda bad for him about it, but what can i say?? you come at the king, you best not miss!

aaand that concluded the meetup!! we took a group photo, chatted together a bit more, figured out who would go back home with who, and bid our farewells as we headed back to rest up for the night (excluding me LOL) . but i guess while there's plenty of free space for images remaining and nothing else to put down here... i'll just share the cut scores from yesterday's session that i couldn't fit in the earlier post due to the image limit!!!

December 13th, 2024 - Arcaea, PIU Phoenix, Phigros

alright!!! today's quite the big day in rhythm gaming before the ACTUAL massive arcade session tomorrow, so i'm writing this a bit ahead of time to document my biggest achievement today so the hype doesn't wear off too quickly www (and also because i don't want to stay up at midnight or in the morning writing the scorepost, but that's besides the point) .

once again, i wasn't really planning on doing much rhythm gaming at all today. i had a big DDR tourney and an arcade warehouse day ahead of me tomorrow, so i kinda wanted to contain all my hype for that day in particular, however, as per usual, i had to get through my arcaea stamina before then... so i got this sweet new PM on astral.exe (FTR-9, MAX-14) as FTR PM #213 after relentlessly wasting my stamina on this Evil Ass Song (TO TIME. evil to time. i think the song itself is beautiful but i could not find the note snapping or timing on some of these notes for the life of me) !!!

...suddenly, however, my parents offered to take me along to the Pump It Up Mall (self-labeled) as they wanted to do a bit of shopping there ! having nothing better to do today, i agreed to join them and got all my dancing equipment ready for the trip. i ate quite a bit a long the way so as to be fully energized, and dove straight for the arcade once we arrived at the mall. once i finished using the bathroom there, i hopped onto the cab and tried testing the waters... but for some reason, the waters (the cab's scrolling) were super fast and trigger-happy for some reason??? a single tap of either blue arrow would advance 3 songs in song select and two options in the folder sort, which made selecting specific songs Really Hard... thankfully i already knew what i wanted to play today, so i didn't have to go through the even greater pain of Finding a song i wasn't familiar with .

but besides that, i came here to play pump and i was gonna play pump!!! so i gave the game a test run with Phalanx "RS2018 edit" D18 to make sure the pads were actually working, which they were! greatly, actually! a little overconfident in the performance of the pads and myself, i dove straight into the 20s and failed my first one (Mental Rider D20 . lol, lmfao), but then started passing them with ease, starting with Love Is A Danger Zone (Cranky Mix) D20 at the end of the set...! that left only three more 20s to clear for Advanced Lv.3, which sounded like quite a tall order... but i was willing to take on it if it meant finally bringing the grind to an end in as little sets as possible (trying to save credits here www), and so the sightread (or near-sightread) grind began...! kicking off the second set with X-Tream D20 (hell), following it up with KUGUTSU S20 (also hell?), and then finishing it off with a miraculous first try clear on Queencard S20 (HELL)... and that was it. three new 20s in a single set -- exactly the amount i needed to reach the rating threshold for Advanced Lv.3 and be done with this nightmare of a grind...

and sure enough, it happened!!! and what's more, i got it on video!!! after having to clear so many 20s, suffering and out of breath for the majority of them, wishing this required grind would be over so i could move on from them... the nightmare was over, and i was finally entering 21 territory. whether this would be easier or not was a toss-up, but i can rest easy knowing i've gone beyond them at long last :]

...the pump session doesn't end there, however!!! seeing as i still had a few credits left, i decided to go for more sets and start training for the inevitable journey of taking down 21s... i wasn't expecting much given how hard and intensive 21s were, but i would end up proving myself wrong on the spot as (after an initial failed attempt from tiring out) i somehow managed to close out Horang Pungryuga D21 as D21 clear #3...????? my dad and baby sister came over to leave some stuff with me and witnessed the clear in action, so i'll have to ask if they have any recording of the clear... but since they were there, i took a break and celebrated with a funny lil PG on Kitty Cat S01 that led to the funniest result image i've had... and as they made off with my arcade card, only leaving me with a single other set to play PIU, i continued my hot streak in such an insane set by getting GOODBOUNCE D21 as D21 clear #4 !!!!!!!!!!! and once again, some Poppin' Shower D19 to celebrate!!! (severely underestimated this celebration play though, by god that was hard.....)

well, that wraps it up for the dance gaming today!!! seeing as my parents were still shopping and i was left without any more credits, i ended off the set there and got myself a little treat to celebrate my brand new title... and during the wait, i got the chance to use up my world mode stamina on playing Sulfur [FTR-9+] three times in a row and ending it off on a 1-far Full Recall!!! (ohyeah, and then i ran out of world mode stamina, so the fourth score is just a phigros score w)

...but did you think that was the last of sulfur you'd see? fufufu... as much as i was convinced that would be the end of it, i had re-accumulated all my stamina and needed some way to burn it productively... and that's when the 1-far score on Sulfur came back to me. if nothing else, why not try closing out the PM? so i tried and i tried, but kept messing up the easiest of patterns and forgetting some cues that i was required to memorize... it was getting hopeless, and i even had to escape world mode to get it as i would only keep frustrating myself with all my reverse chokes . but eventually, in just a few tries during regular music play... i finally managed to close it out!!! Sulfur (FTR-9+, MAX-16) as FTR PM #214!!! and with insanely good shiny acc despite my troubles, too!!!!

November 22nd, 2024 - Arcaea, Phigros

phew, MAN was i not expecting today's scores to go as hard as they did!!! previously, on Arcaea, 6.0 dropped and introduced some of the weirdest and harshest chart constant changes seen in the game's history... a disproportionate amount of which directly affected me!!! i was shafted and demolished b30-wise by some of these changes, so i had to figure out some way to improve my scores and prove myself much better than what the CC's seemed to say now... and now knowing that Testify [FTR-10+] got bumped up from 10.8 to 10.9, i started grinding out attempts to get as good a score on it as possible... and while i did suddenly go from a barely-EX+ to a 994 EX+, i unfortunately didn't gain any new PTT from either play.

defeated and disappointed, i just kinda tried whatever came to mind to get me through the struggles of reaching my skill ceiling. one such chart i kinda wanted to try for laughs and hard clears was Tempestissimo [BYD-11] which had actually been bumped up from 11.5 to 11.7 thanks to the update...! (but despite being in the range now, it's still displayed as an 11 in-game) . i wasn't expecting much at all given how much stamina i had already wasted on upscoring Testify, but this score unimaginably blew me away with how consistent and good it was... something i didn't even think i had the ability to accomplish... something truly out of this world

... a 986 EX FATALIS CLEAR??? ON TEMPESTISSIMO BYD-11??? WITH THUMBS??? NEARLY A FULL-ON 100K-POINT UPSCORE???? +0.03 PTT TO GO ALONG WITH IT AS WELL AND GETTING ME TO MY NEW PEAK PTT???? HOW?????? NOT HUMANLY POSSIBLE!!!!! I'M STILL IN SO MUCH SHOCK THIS SCORE IS GENUINELY INCREDIBLE

oh right, the vivid/stasis x phigros collab got announced to be released next week, so might as well pick this game back up and try catching up to where i left off on android... sucks that i couldn't transfer my data though, i had already reached chapter 7!!!

September 8th, 2024 - Phigros, Arcaea

oh right! i think i forgot to mention it here, but the reason Phigros scores have been so sparse despite me playing the game so much more is because right now, i'm trying to sweep through pretty much every single EZ and HD chart in the game to farm as many Bytes as i can to buy as many Single Collection charts as i can... and so far, i guess it's going alright? though there's been a few struggles and a lack of time thanks to my Writing Duties, i've been keeping up with it in bed and on my bus rides... and while waiting for the bus back from work, i finally did it... i got a phi on the hardest HD chart i could find -- Inori -warera shinso to tomo ni ayumu mono nari- [HD Lv.13]!!!!!

and -- while not as notable or impressive as my past few days' scores on this game -- i got a new neat PM from World Extend III: epitaxy (FTR-8, MAX-14) as FTR PM #172 !
