Magi Concept Art: Early Hakuryuu and Hakuei Designs [from bluray vol. 4 & 6]
"In early drafts, Hakuryuu was supposed to be Hakuei’s older brother. According to Ohtaka, the story might have been completely different had their relationship been kept like this.” [x]
"Ohtaka notes how this early Hakuryuu looks mentally strong despite his appearance not being too different from the final design and wonders why." [x]

Why is everyone so mad at Sinbad? Can’t we talk about how Kouen and Koumei are behaving like the biggest assholes out there?
Why is Sin suddenly the villian playing evil games with Alibabas mind when minutes before Kouen and Komuei did the same thing to him?!
Honestly, we should all know by now that there’s never only a black and a white side, right?
I think the difference in reaction is more associated with the tactics adopted by the respective parties. Kouen and Koumei are comparatively more upfront about their tyrannical intentions; the overt nature makes the methods easier to digest for the readers. Sinbad on the other hand is more secretive; there’s greater ambiguity in his character that can cause insecurity in the more sensitive readers. Quite often he has disguised ulterior motives as mere good will. Moreover, he took control over a girl —who loves him, mind you — without even her notice. So from a psychological standpoint, I can understand why some of the fandom would depreciate his moves more: it feels more despicable to see good will taken advantage of underhandedly. In other words, pretending to be “good” can be seen as worse than being upfront “bad” (I won’t deny that this may not exactly be a rational assumption).
Of course, both parties are guilty for their morally questionable tactics. I do not deny that Sinbad’s overall intentions appear cleaner than Kouen and Koumei’s. Sinbad has shown a level of self-reflectiveness over his own motives and actions that the Ren brothers have yet to display. However, all the same, I can also understand why the former’s methods can be received more negatively, as specified above.
I don’t think this has been used in the anime yet?
Been waiting since the end of season 1 for this track.
FYI Magi OST2 is on sale now.
