You watched from the gardens as Princess Sevika bullied the swordsmen in the practice yard. There was an elegance to the mastery of her rage that you just found so alluring. Of course you hoped to never need be on the other side of it. You couldn't help but laugh as the last man yielded desperately.
Sevika grinned and rested the dull wooden blade over her shoulder before offering him her hand. She graciously helped him to his feet. "Maybe next time." She encouraged him as she looked down at him. God, she was so attractive.
You had heard rumors of the Seven Foot Tall Princess with a Warriors Heart before you came into her service. She wasn't exactly seven feet tall, but she was the tallest woman you had yet to meet anyway. Of course you never expected she would take any special interest in you, yet....
She tossed the wooden sword aside as she locked eyes with you. She sauntered straight over and leaned over you as she reached past you to grab an apple off the table. Of course it was really just an excuse to kiss you briefly.
Your heart fluttered with affection and anxiety. You turned a soft red color as she bit into the apple she grabbed keeping her eyes locked with yours. "You are going to get us caught one day." You scolded hitting her with a fresh sweat rag.
"One day I will make you my wife and then it won't matter." She said using the rag to dab her radiant skin. You bit your lip as you watched her unabashedly.
"Not if they have me hanged first-" she shoved the apple in your mouth effectively cutting you off. Her brows flickered upwards like she had just discovered something new. Your eyes narrowed in response knowing exactly what she was thinking.
"Your highness." Said sullen guards. She knit her brows annoyed by the interruption as she turned her attention to them. "I'm afraid we have some grave news." They informed her. "Perhaps we could move to a more private location." They suggested unable to look her in the eyes.
She ran her hand down her face as she took a seat. "How'd it happen?" She questioned. Your eyes widened at the realization. You looked to the men in front of you waiting for the confirmation.
"He passed in his sleep your highness." They said before dropping down onto one knee. "If you'll have us the royal guard pledges our allegiance to the Queen." You noticed her knuckles turning white from her grip on the armrests of the chair.
She stood taking your hand "There will be a party tonight, in honor of your fallen king. I expect everyone to show up." She said before marching towards the castle with you in tow.
"Sevika are you sure that's a good idea? The kingdom is at such a vulnerable state. Don't you think the guards should remain alert?" You questioned.
"What's so vulnerable about it?" She questioned dismissively.
"Well the King is dead. There will be people who wish to contest your post. You've no husband, no children-" She stopped ripping her hand from yours.
"What exactly are you saying? That you think I can't run this kingdom?" She questioned with a raised brow.
"Of course I'm not saying that! However if you truly intend to make me your queen consort one day it would be nice if you at least considered what I have to say!" You snapped. Her nose twitched in response.
You stepped forward to take both her hands in yours. "I know that this must be incredibly overwhelming. That the last thing you're wanting to think about right now is public image but I am telling you that it is incredibly important right now. If you throw a large party some may consider it greatly disrespectful to the king."
She nodded before leaning in close. "There is no one to contest me. I am my father's only heir. He made sure of that. The kingdom is in mourning and I am positive that I am not the only one who needs a drink." She said.
"Fine. Have it your way. I'll be in my chambers." You said parting ways from her.
"No, you wont." She said. You stopped and turned around to look at her with a daring expression on your face. She wouldn't dare... "I order you to stay by my side." She fucking dared.
"You're being cruel." You said crossing your arms.
"I thought you liked that about me." She replied.
"Sevika you don't want me there. It sounds like nothing but trouble. You can hardly stop yourself from acting on your feelings when you're sober." You insisted.
"An order has already been given." She dismissed as she marched onward. You twisted your face as you strangled the air in her direction before following after her.

At the party Sevika's hands kept finding your thighs as you sat beside her whilst she gambled. You kept sweeping her touch away from you worried the others would notice her unusual affections. She never argued, but it was like she had the memory of a damned goldfish.
She kissed her teeth as she patted herself down. "I'm out of matches." Her complaint was followed by a symphony of matches being struck. She chuckled as they surrounded her with light. She chose the closest one before grabbing your thigh again. You crossed your legs as you slipped her hand away yet again.
She pushed two clouds of smoke from her nose as she turned her head to look at you. "Why do you keep doing that?" She questioned. Great, now she was drawing attention to it. Anxious, you stood from your seat.
"I'm tired. I'm afraid I'll be turning in. I wish luck to everyone at the table." You said with a curtsey before hurrying off. You were pretty confident she wouldn't demand you stay after stating that you were tired, but rushed off just in case. She sighed pinching the bridge of her nose as you entered the halls.
"Do you want one of us to make sure she gets to her room safely?" One of the guards questioned genuinely concerned for the Queen's close friend. Despite your best efforts to keep your relationship private, the truth was widely believed by most of the guard.
"Everyone is here." She said. They looked at her perplexed. "All of the trouble is in this room." She clarified. That they seemed to understand.
"Too right your highness!" They said holding up their drinks in cheers. Sevika sighed getting up. She wasn't used to you not willingly following her around like a baby duckling follows their mother. So she left after you. She didn't want to start her reign with you so mad at her.
"Y/N?" She called after entering the halls. You were nowhere in sight so she began towards your chambers rather ungracefully. You were brushing your hair when you heard a heavy thud just outside your door. Startled, you grabbed the most weapon like item closest to you.
You slowly went to open the door. To your confusion no one was there. Until you looked down. Sprawled out on the floor was the new queen, drunken. You rolled your eyes as you poked your head out to see if anyone was around. You sighed as you stepped out to roll her inside before anyone saw her in such an unqueenly manor and locked the door behind her.
When she opened her eyes next, her head was still spinning but she felt at ease amongst the familiar decor. Despite seeing it all from a new angle. You were fast asleep in bed. She staggered up grabbing a cigar from the stash she kept in your room. She held it between her lips before remembering she was out of matches.
She groaned as she plopped down beside you. You woke up and irritability pushed her off the bed. She landed with a heavy thud. She laughed in response not bothering to move. "Why are you so mad?" She questioned after some time.
"I'm not discussing this with you until you've completely sobered up." You replied turning your back to her.
"I'm sober enough." She replied staring up at the spinning ceiling. You scoffed in response. "I don't enjoy you being cross with me." She said bluntly.
"So what, are you going to order me to stop?" You questioned before slinging a pillow at her face.
"So that's what this is about?" She said moving the pillow under her head. "You were being stubborn." She added. You knit your brows and leaned over the side of the bed to look down at her.
"I was being stubborn?? You used your title to get your way!" You said snatching the cigar from her lips. She looked at you like a lost child. It was the first time you had ever raised your voice at her.
"I didn't want to be alone." She muttered. You kissed your teeth tilting your head irritated. All she had to do was be vulnerable for two seconds and she had already earned your forgiveness. Of course, you weren't quite ready to give it to her.
You got up placing the cigar between your lips as you leaned down to light it in the flickering flame of candle light. Once you got it going you stood over Sevika and blew the smoke down at her face. Her hands quickly found your ankles and ran up your legs. "This is a good angle for you." She said.
You lightly kicked her side which made her grin. "Don't flirt with me I'm still mad at you." You clarified. She hummed as she pressed into the back of your knees causing you to fall to your knees. You groaned as you found yourself straddling her. She sat up, her hand quickly burrowing into your hair as she kissed you desperately. Her other arm wrapped itself around your waist locking you in place.
You wanted to fight it but your body folded to her every whim like second nature. She ended up breaking the kiss first. She left you a panting mess but you did your best to keep your angry expression on as you gazed into her lovesick eyes.
"I'll promise to never do it again..." She said gently caressing the side of your face as she tucked some of your hair behind your ear before running her hand down your arm before finding the cigar in your hand and bringing it to her lips. "If you promise you won't ever leave my side." She said before the end of the cigar turned red from her inhaling. You knit your brows.
"This wasn't meant to be a trade." You said. She grinned and nodded before blowing the smoke back into your face as pay back.
"I need you by my side Y/N. You are the most important thing left in my heart." She said lowly as her grip on you tightened. "I need you to understand that." She pleaded with a soft crease between her brows. You sighed resting your forehead against hers.
"Fine. I'll promise, if you promise not to be so dismissive of my voice. Even if I'm wrong..." You said. She nodded softly before tilting her head to kiss your lips again.
"I promise." She muttered against your lips.
"I promise." You whispered back wrapping your arms around her neck.
